i wonder what DG really means if it doesnt mean "change in the unit of magnetic field strength equal to one-hundred-thousand of an oersted"

***dances a crazy dance***

Gasp! I cannot believe you forgot our sacred meaning!! Those magnet fields are the foundation of our sisterhood!!!

ADqtPiMel 01-28-2004 11:24 PM

Don't let the secret bed part of our ritual out. No one will understand ;)

Kappa, in most GLOs, stands for 'and'

Wilson Heller told me that the Kappa, in most GLOs, stands for 'and'

It's used frequently - Phi Kappa Psi, TKE, KKGamma, DKE, Phi Kappa Sigma,
Phi Kappa Tau, etc.

tunatartare 01-29-2004 12:17 AM

Proud to be a member of Kill Land Hipp

AlphaXi4983 01-29-2004 01:04 AM

aww no meaning for "xi"? *sniffle* :(

So the ritual meaning of KKG is "And And something" ? Unless the founders had a stuttering problem...:p

kappaloo 01-29-2004 12:26 PM

lol...

KKG - kill, kill, go sing! Sounds about right to me!

There's some guy around campus who believes he's figured out what KKG means and yells it to us whenever he's in audible range. At first I wanted to tell him he's wrong, but then I figured that it's easier/amusing to just neither confirm nor deny.

xo_kathy 01-29-2004 12:31 PM

WAIT! You just revealed it!

Kill AND Go sing!!!!!!

Now I'm going to call my mom and tell her it's ok I'm not a Kappa b/c I know what her letters mean anyway!!!! ;)

am I the only one who really wants to know what this guy thinks Kappa Kappa Gamma means? cause I bet it's pretty funny.

MysticCat 01-29-2004 03:43 PM

Well, if I had to guess, I'd bet that he bought into the canard that it means "Keys to the Kingdom of God."

Sounds more like a fraternity, doesn't it?

Glad that I amused with the panties remark. They are azure blue, of course (to match the lycra catsuits!)! :D

well, mu is:

-micro[n] (10^-6)
-the muon particle (in particle physics)
-mu calculus (like lambda calculus)
-permeability (in astronomy)
-mean atomic mass (also in astronomy)

So, we can be Perfect Particles? The Golden Ratio of Very Very Small Things? The Perfect Mean Atomic Mass?

HotDamnImAPhiMu 01-29-2004 09:17 PM

man I should have paid more attention during intiation. I thought it was Perfect Very Very Small Things.

i heart your signature, daoine :)

Of course they are! ;)

Now, I better go out and buy some of those azure blue panties so I can "first change" them :D

hannahgirl 01-31-2004 07:26 PM

so I am a member of "do go sing"?? interesting.....:p

explains why my chapter has some music (or music ed, which ever you prefer) majors, but i don't know about others like me that don't sing THAT well.....

Lady Pi Phi 01-31-2004 07:31 PM

I am a member of Pet Bed Graphic :D

We're Pet Graphics for short! :D

tld221 01-31-2004 09:13 PM

this is funny.

i never expected for this thread to go on this long.

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-01-2004 05:03 AM

are you kidding? This is GC. We could have an 84 page thread about rush t-shirt colors.

And we're just Kill for short. Hee hee, I'm surprised noone has found out about our secret stash of weapons. But I guess we cover it up pretty well with our singing! :p

I'm curious, too, as to what this guy thinks it is.

Taualumna 02-01-2004 01:14 PM

So AGD can also mean Father, Go Sing, Do! Also sounds like a musical! :p

I think he's yelling "Keys to the Kingdom of God" , but I've also heard him say "Keep Kappa Going" (that's off one of our chapter websites). I really wonder if he really thinks we would be so unthoughtful as to put secret material on a website.

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-02-2004 02:33 AM

bwahahaha.

I hope he's pre-med.

hendrixski 02-02-2004 02:45 AM

So Kappa in Number theory is the string value of a cryptographic key

Delta in Number theory is the diagonal relation

and Rho... has something to do with frequency in physics, no? I suck at applied math... Oh well, P in number theory is also the string value of plaintext before encryption. Looks like a Rho, no?

So kappa Delta Rho is the diaganol relation of keys and plaintexts?

:-/ sucks being a computer science major, eh?

RedRoseSAI 02-02-2004 04:44 PM

Proud sister of Sit Father Pie, here. Sounds like a scene from "American Pie" to me...
