i was thinking the same thing. she is just overly sensitive. i cannot stand when people look for racist comments that are not there in everthing people say. has she not heard of the phrase 'pot calling the kettle black?' she got on my nerves for that very reason. for someone that thinks she is so bright, she isnt.

DWAlphaGam 01-16-2004 11:01 AM

Someone pointed out on TWoP that Omorosa's name backwards is almost "ass-o-rama." LOL

I think that the women are going to lose deliberately next week to try to boot Omorosa. She's bringing the morale of the team WAY down. Although I could see the men trying to lose deliberately in order to boot Sam, too.

I'm torn as to who I find more annoying - Omorosa or Sam. Sam would be slightly less annoying if someone gave him some Ritilin, but there isn't anything that's going to change Omorosa's bitchiness. Even if Erika leaves, I think Omorosa may just pick out someone else to fight with.

I agree, DeltaBetaBaby: Trump only kept Sam around to keep the drama going. I think George was pretty annoyed about that, too.

dzfan 01-16-2004 11:08 AM

so bummed they fired the hottie-and that SAM guy needs to get the AXE!!!! He sucks!

PM_Mama00 01-16-2004 11:36 AM

ARGHSF:JSD:FJSK. Sam is such a douche bag. Jason made a mistake, yes. But even if he met with the president, I still think the girls were gona win. Sex sells we all know that. I'm just really disappointed that Jason got fired :( . Him and my sister's real sister are in New York today for the Today Show. I didn't get to catch it.

I know I'm pluggin Jason like no other, but for being as young as he is, he's an awesome businessman and now it just gives him the chance to become successful without the crutch of Donald Frump.

And I'm sure even if Sam was the leader for the next mission, and they fail, he won't get fired. Frump is prolly keeping him there for entertainment. Either that or I think he's a decoy. But regardless, for those guys not being in the advertising occupation, I thought their commercial maybe was a little generic, but really good for someone who isn't trained in that field. As a PR person I give them 4 thumbs up.

I said the exact same thing to my mother when I was watching. I thought maybe Sam was like a mole trying to test how the team deals with a weak team member. Either that or Donald Trump is secretly in love with him - why else would you keep a man who slept on the floor at work and then lied about it (he tried to deny it even though Trump was like I saw the tapes stupid)

I was thinking that too. I wonder if the producers of the show have any say in who stays and who goes. If so, the producers could be telling Trump to keep Sam around just because he adds drama. The producers think the show wouldn't be interesting if they eliminated the drama causing people too soon.

I like Omarosa last week, and now I think she is a drama queen. Correct me if I am wrong, but she called Erika racist for using the phrase "pot calling the kettle black."

I still think Sam needs to go, and I almost wonder if he was kept around for entertainment value. I'm sorry, but there was no excuse for falling asleep.

Why did they have to fire the hot one???

I too wonder if Sam is being kept just to test how the others deal w/ a challenging employee. The D said last night that Sammie wouldn't be working there b/c there was too much of a risk he'd f' up big.

Ummmm, O.......Clean your ears. It's one thing to be a strong black woman [yay - strive to emulate Oprah], it's another think to be a crazy black woman [boo- srtiving to emulate Michael/Michelle Jackson] and accuse people of being racist when they're really just using a common metaphor:confused:

I think that O needs a hug.

PsychTau 01-16-2004 06:06 PM

Here's my take on things....

Sam is being kept around as a mole or decoy or something....Trump either wants to see how the other guys learn to handle him without tearing the whole team apart (like a team-building task) or he's around for the drama. Trump's a smart man...he understands ratings, etc. and I think he knows people won't watch this show just to see him...he doesn't have that many fans.

Omarosa showed us her agenda on the plane when she snapped back at Erika ("There you go with your racism again....They just don't know how to handle a strong black woman, etc."). No offense to anyone, but it's not about being a strong black woman necessarily.....it's about being a strong business woman..... HOWEVER, Omarosa is shrewd....she's not yelling all the time like Erika, and she knows how to push buttons. It's been Erika's buttons the first two weeks, but Erika was an easy target (very passionate, gets loud quickly and easily, emotional). Omarosa's watching the others and seeing what buttons she can push in the next few weeks.

Erika's good, but too explosive. Emotions will get her into trouble.

I have a feeling that the women, although they like to win, will figure out if they lose, they might get Omarosa or Erika out (it's not clear to me who they want to keep at this point...) However, whomever the leader is will probably nominate Omarosa AND Erika in order to make sure one of them is gone (unless it backfires and the leader is fired).

I love shows like this cause I can analyze the hell out of them!!!

Rain Man 01-16-2004 06:26 PM

While I posted my comments on this show in another forum...

...I will post a summary of them here.

While I understand the whole commotion of this Sam/Omarosa dilemma, you must understand, the winner is determined by the one who possesses the strongest leadership potential and corporate business saavy, not who is the most popular and the most buddy-buddy. This is in part, the reason why I like this reality show b/c normally I do not watch reality shows, as they are too drama-oriented with no real substance to support it.

Being an MBA, I like watching the corporate-oriented business techniques and strategies these individuals are exercising and practicing, and that is the primary reason why I am watching this show. The drama and BMC sessions and commentaries during the projects I could care less about; they should be reserved for where it counts; the boardroom w/Mr. Trump. The cattiness with the women during the plane ride to Boston was pathetic and unnecessary.

As far as why Sam & Omarosa are still in, it should be obvious; being outspoken and unconventional (which is what the drama with them boils down to) does not inherently demonstate lack of professional business leadership skills, thus it is not a sufficient reason to eliminate them from the contest at this time. Both have in their own way demonstrated leadership potential; they have not yet had a opportunity to truly demonstrate it where it counts. Once that has been done, a better assessment of whether they should stay or go can be determined.

In all fairness, please be objective and try to reserve the Sam/Omarosa complaints until such time.

PM_Mama00 01-16-2004 08:02 PM

Uhhh Rain Man did you not see Sam fall asleep on the table, and then move to the floor "in fetal position" WHILE they were trying to work on the advertisement? How the hell is that business savvy and why does he deserve to be looked at "objectively"?

DeltaBetaBaby 01-16-2004 08:08 PM

I wish that they hadn't gone men vs. women.

I think it would have been a much better show if the teams were "MBA educated" vs. "learned in the real world."

Hootie 01-16-2004 08:33 PM

Here's my take on a few things:

First of all I don't think the women will intentionally lose just so they can get one of their own booted (ie. Omorosa). I think they realize that with what the men have gone through, it's anyone's game (right now).

Furthermore, I think the drama and cattyness and pathetic naps are in there to throw us. Cuz like MOST people, I would have fired the lazy butt sleeping on the job or the BIATCH who causes problems. However this is Donald Trump....and he has kept us on the edge for the last two shows.

madmax 01-19-2004 05:15 PM

Sam looks like the guy from the tv show Monk.

Keep in mind two things:

A. Jason (the project manager) did not give Sam anything substantive to do during that time--it was Jason's responsibility to keep Sam occupied during that time.

B. Mr. Trump explained in no uncertain terms that the project manager would be held at least partially responsible for the failure of the losing team.

Granted, while Sam lying in the fetal position on national TV didn't present him in the most positive light during the competition, it was, all things considered, by far the lesser of three evils. Jason, while much more likable and sociable, failed as project manager for neglecting to execute a critical aspect of the project and thus deserved to be eliminated.

Again, the elimination is not based on trivial personal axes to grind, it is about business and professional saavy, which is why I like this reality show over others.

Sorry, but I got to be candid on this matter.

Rain Man 01-20-2004 01:38 PM

Well said!

Excellent point! Good observation.

I am getting the disturbing message that in order to succeed in business, you have to "sell sex". The wins by the women's team made that very clear. I would like to see a more objective competition based on intuitive and instinctive knowledge, not merely gender-oriented knowledge. Had Mr. Trump split up the groups like you said, it would have made for a PERFECT objective competitive reality show and I would like to think he originally would've wanted it that way. The only reason that he may have split it by sex was that it would've made for a more drama-oriented show (read: whoring for ratings so NBC can pat him on the head and say, "Good boy").

DeltaBetaBaby 01-21-2004 10:32 PM

Okay, when Sam got fired, I seriously thought he was going to FLIP OUT. Good for Trump, though.

Is there somebody hooking up? I thought I caught that in the previews, but there was no mention tonight, unless I missed it.

He was scarey looking! He looked like if he had a weapon handy he might have used it!

angelic1 01-22-2004 12:59 AM

I thought the same thing about Sam when they fired him. I thought he was going to reach across the table and grab him or somthing.. he looked crazy. I was just laughing at his reaction.

He will be on the today show i think tomorrow.. i think it will be interesting to hear what he says.. glad he isnt on the show anymore bc he was annoying to watch.

DWAlphaGam 01-22-2004 04:31 PM

Sam looked EVIL. Thank goodness he's gone, now maybe the guys can win for once. I think the women need to be knocked down a couple of notches.

Troy getting his legs waxed was priceless.

MeLikey 01-22-2004 08:25 PM

When Trump was on the interview, Joy asked him if he was keeping Sam for ratings... he didn't really answer her, he was just like watch this week's episode, it's GREAT with Sam... didn't know that that meant he'd fire him! But I'm happy he's gone, I only caught the last 2 minutes when he fired Sam.

AOTTAdvisor 01-23-2004 03:07 PM

Okay, so I don't watch the show but Sam proposed to his girlfriend on the TODAY'S show this morning and she is one of my AOTT pledge sisters!!! How weird is that!!!
She is an absolute sweetheart!!

Wow, so she's normal? I thought there would have to be something seriously wrong with someone who would marry psycho Sam!

WCUgirl 01-23-2004 06:40 PM

I'm so glad that Sam got fired! I don't know how much more of that show I could have watched with him on it.

Sister Havana 01-24-2004 11:23 PM

Sam needed to go. The men's strategy was the least efficient I've seen.

I love Troy, though. He's adorable.

And the preview was great. "Now that Sam has been fired, how will the group deal with their heartbreak?" Cut to shot of everyone jumping up and down and cheering. HAHAHAHA! :D

PM_Mama00 01-24-2004 11:28 PM

Did Sam NOT look demonic when he got fired? Like all of a sudden he was possessed. I was surprised he didn't jump over the table and strangle Frump.

Oh yeah, and seriously, was Dr. Evil's character based off of the Frump? Really now compare the two and think about it.

All right, so tonight's the first time I ever watched it, and in the midst of getting caught up in all the drama, I was getting *seriously* peeved with Sam....thank goodness he's gone and I definitely saw that there was a strange green glare coming from his eyes as he stared down Donald Trump :D

Now I'm going to have to make sure I tape the show on Thursday nights! :)

SATX*APhi 01-28-2004 10:04 PM

Can I just say how much I love Troy!! I just love his accent! Kinda sounds like Matthew McConaughey. Yum!

kddani 01-29-2004 11:16 PM

i don't really watch this much, but i just caught the firing.
The one guy in the group (who didn't get fired, redish sort of hair) seriously looked like the guy from Billy Madison... which is highly appropriate. I just thought it hilarious

SATX*APhi 01-29-2004 11:28 PM

Oh my Lord! Bowie should so not have been fired. I think Kwame should have been let go. He failed as a supervisor and mislead tons of people.

MeLikey 01-30-2004 01:25 AM

I really felt bad for Bowie because he probably didn't think he'd be the one fired. I didn't like Nick giving up on the team, his heart wasn't really in it from the beginning anyway because Sam was gone.

Sister Havana 01-30-2004 01:33 AM

Nick should have been gone. Not Bowie. I felt bad for him too.

And I just KNEW there was going to be a reorganization of the teams as soon as the women won again.

WCUgirl 01-30-2004 10:47 AM

Okay, when did Bowie get fired? Was this on last night? I'm so confused...Wednesday night they ran a re-run of last week's show, and I thought it was supposed to be on last night, but NO, they had to show some stupid crap about the Panthers.

So is it on on Thursdays for good now? Please someone tell me they didn't show a new episode last night!!!

DWAlphaGam 01-30-2004 10:47 AM

Nick was being a tool. He definitely should have been fired instead of Bowie.

I love how Assorama was saying that she was softer towards the other women, and it was working a lot better. No sh!t, sherlock. I can't wait to see how she interacts with the men.

4 women and 2 men on each team should be interesting.

Yeah, I'm glad the women will be on opposing teams now. That will show you how fake they have been up until this point. Things are about to get down and dirty!

mu_agd 01-30-2004 02:41 PM

is anyone else kind of glad that the women got called out on using thier sexuality too much?

No, not really. They are doing what they have to to win, and if that means using sex, then so be it. Unfortunately, sex sells...to men and women. I think instead of calling them out and saying it's inappropriate, he should have said, so far you've been able to use sex to sell, and to win your challenges. Unfortunately, there will be a time when you can't use your sexuality to get what you want, maybe you should come up with new marketing ideas.

MeLikey 01-31-2004 06:14 PM

I'm guessing a woman will be fired next week... Bill impressed me this week, I like Troy, Kwame, and Amy--think that's her name, the really upbeat one with short blonde hair.

Yes, so true. Until human beings can reproduce asexually, sex will ALWAYS SELL.

And my prediction for the "romance" that they hinted at is.....

Nick and Amy.

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST, PEEPS! ;)

SATX*APhi 02-07-2004 02:56 AM

I honestly have no clue as to who would be involved in this so-called romance.

And what was the betrayal on this weeks episode?! The loss of the $180?
