Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity to say "Quota!" It's a thrill that has been denied me, possibly for life, now that more campuses are switching to computer matching. :(

I will say that, when hand bid matching is done, the first round is rather territorial, but by the time for Quota Plus, a wonderfully Panhellenic spirit fills the room! For the longest time, all the ADPi Advisors who did bid matching were redheads. Once, the DZ Advisor asked if being a redhead was a prerequisite for being an ADPi advisor! Of course, we told her yes. ;)

I say we design a mock GC bid matching for ADPis and we give honey the honor of saying *Quota!* :D

But, Jane, Jenny, Jill, and Jessica have suicided ADPi and you've reached Quota. TECHNICALLY, the chapter can extend up to 10% over Quota in such a case - but as this rule is made for the good of the greek system as a whole, sometimes a chapter will take a higher percentage rather than have Jill & Jessica realize that they were second stringers.

Thanks for the clarification honey! Allegheny has not allowed suiciding one chapter in awhile so I was not aware of that rule. I knew that you could take over quota if you were still not at total (something Eta Beta got to do last year) but I hadnt realized there was another loop hole to get you above total. And hey who am I to question what rules Panhel uses as long as it means we get more girls :).

I think this is the type of math class we really need in school! It would be waaaayyyyyy more useful than all these other formulas we had to memorize! :p

ZX results

ZX got 5 new alphas on bid day. Currently we are having COR and we have 15 PNM that have attended this week. Slowly but surely....this year's rush numbers were very small though. Quota is normally 60-65 at Baylor, this year it was only 50. But our new RVP and FRC have great plans for COR, so after Friday we could have lots more new alphas!

ADPiZXalum 01-23-2004 01:11 AM

MEGAN!!! 15 coming to COR?!!!! THat's amazing!!!!!!!!! I"m so proud of yall!!! I hope yall get them all! Good luck, good luck, good luck with SING!!!!!! i hope i can make it up to Waco in February. Tell everyone HI and that I LOVE THEM THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS much!! Please email me a final count asap!!!

ETA: Girls, sorry to get so excited but I was the RVP last year for ZX and this chapter has just made so many improvements since I joined and the possibility of having 20 new alphas in one semester just makes me want to do cartwheels, like I'm crying right now!!!! The majority of the girls we extend bids to in COR take them, so this has some major possibilities for this chapter!! Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We've/They've worked sooooooo hard and it's tough competition on that campus, and this could be a huge turnaround. Keep your fingers crossed for Friday!!!!!!!!!!! YAH HOOO!!!!!! YAH HOO!!!!!! YAH HOO!!!!!!!!!!

texas*princess 01-25-2004 02:36 PM

Your GU sisters will definitely keep you all in our thoughts!!!!

There are a couple threads in Greek Life dedicated to how the ADPis and the Phi Mus feel a unique bond, as a result of being founded in Macon as the first & second secret societies for college women. Since there are the Farmville Four (Four or Five?), and the Monmouth Duo, a bunch of us decided that we needed a slogan for our bond. One of the Phi Mus, Jacquelyn Einsel, came up with the Macon Magnolias, and we're trying to spread the news! :)

ETA to correct the spelling of Jacquelyn's name!

And here's the links to those threads :) :

Is there a connection between ADPi and Phi Mu?

ADPi, Phi Mu, and Macon, GA This is where the idea for Macon Magnolias comes up :)

Alpha Iota's spring recruitment is officially ON!!!

nauadpi 01-30-2004 02:55 PM

Bid Day for Epsilon Xi chapter is today... The wonders of having been sick this week have left me at home instead of being able to go help my chapter... But from the phone call from my diamond sister that I got last night the chapter is extending 4 bids today... Around 4pm today we will have an idea if they are excepted. Since it is informal recruitment though, they can also be extended bids from other chapters... So we shall see...

nauadpi 01-31-2004 05:00 AM

Ok... so it looks like 3 of the 4 accepted the bids... In addition I may have found us another potential member... so we shall see...

texas*princess 02-03-2004 11:45 AM

7 more Alphas for Gamma Upsilon and still counting!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I'll wait to update these two until we can get some confirmation....calling Jaime Nicole for Beta Phi! :) Emory's chapter doesn't have a website, so if any of you know someone at Emory that would know the results, please contact them and then let us know!
