I think by making an "old favorite" one of the Bachelorettes, it will draw more viewers. I like it this way. It's kind of like a soap opera. Sam is a playboy and has tons of girls. He loses Clara and now she is on the prowl, so we watch to find out what she is up to and who she is making out with.

As for using "old favorites," why is Bob the only of the Bachelors? That's no fun.

I was sad to see Damon go (he's the one who was wearing the gray suit with the burgandy shirt and tie ~ I *think* on the tie)...for some reason he reminded me of the guy that the girl on Cupid wound up picking last year (I didn't watch that entire show, but picked up on little things while watching BB4). Plus, he's from this area....need to spend more time in the coastal cities, I guess ;) The local news is going to talk to the San Diego guys on tonight's news, which will include Damon (I'm guessing) and Rick...gonna have to watch that :)

Also, I was out with the NYC XO alum Tues night and one of the girls is friends with Ian - the blonde invetment banker. They watched the show with him and he wouldn't let on to anything. Of course, he signed a $15 million confidentiality agreement, so I guess I wouldn't risk it either!

That's what happened with the San Diego guys that the local news talked to last night...they had a viewing party and the guys were very tight-lipped...so sad they didn't have Damon there, but Rick and Ryan R were :)

I missed part of the show tonight - anyone know what Rick did too embarrass Meredith? I caught the end where he was apologizing to her...

I saw the show for the first time just because the commercials kept running and looked like it was drama with the 1 guy being pissed off that he was cut... I forget his name though. I really like Ryan R.-- think that's his name... he's the one with the really pretty blue eyes. I'm surprised she didn't cut that guy who talks too much with the dark wavy hair. I can't give a good summary because I don't know most of the guys' names! I do know she cut that guy Rick though.

OH YEAH, and the big part was that she asked to give out 7 roses instead of 6 because she was so torn... the host was really cool about it too, he said it was all up to her.

Okay, so what happened is while Meredith was having some alone time with Matthew, Rick came up with the idea to play a little game with Meredith where all the guys wrote down a few questions about themselves for Meredith to answer (to see how observant she is and how well she knew them)...one of the questions was about which guy in the room she kissed first (which I think would've been Rick, so he probably put it in there) and what is Lanny's brother's name. The thing was that she was uncomfortable that she couldn't answer the questions, because they were things that had only been mentioned to her once.

After seeing this, I'm GLAD Rick is gone....as much as I was rooting for a San Diego guy, Rick is an arrogant a-hole!

Rick sucked. Glad he's gone. This stupid "metrosexual" thing is overrated - I can't handle guys that use more hair products than I do.

But WTF is with Mr. Chatterbox? OMG that guy is so annoying like does he ever stop for breath every sentence just goes on and on and on and he just won't ever shut up how can anyone even think straight with all that neverdending mindless chatter and that grating annoying voice on and on and on...

AAAAAAAH!!!!! :eek: It's tiring just to type like that. ;)

Okay at the beginning I liked Rick. However, now he seems so arrogant! I think he is very handsome, but I am sure he thinks the same. I thought it was rude for him to make up that game and like he said "put her on the spot!". I did not think he really liked Meredith anyway- so good for her.

Brad is cute, but I think he looks a little too young even though he is 29- I also do not think Meredith is too much into him.

It seems like Meredith really likes Ian. I think he seems really sweet and everything, just do not think he is all that attractive.

Matthew has become my new favorite. He is soooo cute, and he is from Friendswood, which is by Houston. He was actually on the radio station I listen to this morning. He was talking about how so very soft her lips are, and he said the kiss wasnt a peck or a full blown out kiss, but really nice. Matthew also said that Meredith is very genuine and will tell it to you like it is and isnt fake at all.

Lanny is another cute one, but I do not think he will make it very much further. I just do not see the connection.

OMG- Ryan is SO annoying. I hope she gives him the boot next week! I really do not know why she still kept him because it seems like she thinks he talks way too much also.

Haha, I just read my last post and I said I really liked Ryan R., I didn't realize Ryan R.'s the guy who threw the hissy fit for being cut... rather, I meant to say I like Brad-- if he's the one with those beautiful blue eyes! He does look a bit young looking, but he seems really sweet.

While Lanny is a cutie, I think from a practical standpoint, she was a bit silly to keep him around. The physical rush will wear off, and then what? She's surrounded by horses that she loves...oh, so much. :rolleyes: I think he is pretty heavily into the JC too, which I don't think she is, which can bode for incompatibility.

I think she should've keep Brad and cut Lanny.

I couldn't agree more. She and Lanny have nothing in common and if they end up together, it will get old very fast.

In defence of Ian (who I quite like....mmm, those Swedish looks!), his mom died when he was 3. Perhaps he did not have much of a female role model while growing up?

Maybe I came across more harshly than I meant. I don't think Ian's a bad guy - he really does seem completely decent. I just prefer more expressive personalities, that's all. (Just not as expressive as that wack job Ryan) The "strong and silent type" doesn't do it for me.

I think it is going to come down to Ian and Matthew.

I think that when Meredith meets Lanny's family in Texas, she will see the whole "horse situation" with Lanny, and cut Lanny next, then Ian.
I believe that the final 2 standing will be Chad and Matthew and I think she will pick Matthew.

I think that Matthew & Bob look similar, particularly around the mouth area...

So many people have said that Matthew looks like Bob, and I guess I can see it, but I never liked Bob from the beginning but Matthew....ahhhh what a hottie!;)

My roommate is friends with Lanny...she told me before tonight that Lanny's mom is really protective of him. I never expected that though!!! I'd probably take off too!! He is soooooo beautiful though.

Thank goodness she got rid of Lanny. Growing up in that environment, it's likely that Lanny has very traditional ideas of how men and women should behave in relationships, and Meredith probably does not share those views, at least not to that extent. As much as she seemed smitten with Lanny, it's good that she realized just how incompatible their lifestyles and backgrounds are. It would have never worked.

Exactly! She told him, though, that she didn't have enough time to get to know him, but we all know why she let him go -- I don't blame her either!
