lol honeychile!
mullet, that is really neat, i don't keep up with Friends, but I'd be interested in seeing that epsiode.. I'm sure it's funny :P |
haha...not in a relationship now, but I DEFINITELY have my list!!!!
-Pierce Brosnan -Ashton Kutcher -Johnny Moslry -Shane West -John Mayer -Luke Wilson -Ben Affleck AHHHHH....they're all SOOO hot!!! |
In the Friends episode, they all made a list of celebrity freebies. Ross went as far as to laminate his list to show that it was permanent. He had Isabella Rossolini on it but she got replaced by Dorothy Hamell (I think). So, Ross is at the coffee shop and he spots Isabella. He's hitting it off with her and I think one of the Friends blabs something about his list. Isabella sees it and gets all offended that she's not on there. Ross tries to make up an excuse about how he meant to put her on there and Isabella says, "But, it's laminated!" She walked out all pissed off.

The only respect that Britney Spears deserves is as a marketed commodity. She is not a talent, she is a product. |
It's funny, when people name their favorite singer, they do so because they can sing and have talent. For example, my favorite singer is Mary J. Blige for obvious reasons.
Britney, on the other hand, is my favorite mass produced assembly line product. :) (And yes Rachel, I'm dissing your favorite "singer".) Just out of curiosity for the GC Britney fans, do you still line your wall with Britney posters from BOP and Teen Beat? Just wondering! |
I agree with you, but I just don't see a reason to mention it. The girl makes ok booty shaker music. I dont listen to it for emotional depth.
For what it is, it's aight. Her singing ain't great, but she IS a compelling performer. When she's on a stage people want to watch her. There's no point in criticizing the girl for not being something she has absolutely no ability to be. There is so much other music that I do enjoy - I dont mind her going for her slice of the pie. She doesn't offend me since I dont think that finding her musi blandly dancable is a crime. If anything I GREATLY admire the marketing savvy that goes into putting her together. I dn't know if she is the evil genius behind it or if she is dumb as a doorknob, but Britney has made herself into a businessswoman. That I can always appreciate. Quote:

Goodness sakes. It looks horrible on her. But I wonder what the new fashion for the dress is now. Korea is so fad oriented that they have to follow it or else people look at you weird.

Even my dad laughed at her! :) |

PS - also, I'm not taking up for her I'm just stating that I dont' consider Britney a singer, I consider her as a performer. (She said she didn't want people to think of her as a singer) So when people ask me who my favorite singer is I dont' include her. |

Britney did wear it int the middle of Korea. And per Firecracker the people of Korea are talking about it. If they want to give her shit so be it. Koreans don't have to react the same as Chinese. - Britney is a POPSTAR not a SINGER. To me, there's a difference. I enjoy many of her songs. I believe she is driven to entertain people. Do I think that means she is some wonderful talent? No. But I enjoy her none the less. The way I see it, Britney=Entertainer and will grow up to have a Madonna/Cher style career. Christina=Singer and will have more of a Bette/Barbara style life. |

There's no stereotyping at all. It was an honest question that I was wondering about. |

Also, the reason why I think that a lot of Britney fans get offended when you dis her is because one of the biggest reasons that they like her is because they identify with her in some way. Thus when you dis Britney, they feel attacked. Kind of like when I loved Cara from Real World: Chicago because I felt like she was the made-for-TV version of me (well, except for the whole Jewish part), and everybody else referred to her as an anorexic skank with too many issues. ;) |
So last night I was watching some TV and this Korean version of Enterainment Tonight came on and they got an exclusive interview with Britney Spears.
Now, I don't hate the girl but....damn! The person interviewing Britney was Korean, but she spoke perfect English...but Britney still talked to her like she was dumb. That pissed me off. Oh, and apparrently Britney has gained some weight or something like that or atleast that's what they talked about on the show. Britney's bust was so big the designer had to custom make the dress. I really wish she would have sang "The touch of my hand" in front of the Korean audience.... I'm beginning to think these Korean people are sexually repressed...lol |

I dont' know that I identify with her. Honestly, when she first came out I hated her. But I like that she works hard, she's my age, she has real life problems - not everything is perfect in her life, she tries really hard not to care about what the critics say - but what a fan says means a whole lot more, she's bold and she doesn't care if you think she shouldn't wear this or that or show this and that, she goes out places all the time w/out makeup, .......ok, I could list a 1,000 reasons. And when people attack that it does get on my nerves. B/c a lot of my friends here at school attack her for stupid reasons. Like people get mad at her for things they do all the time. |

That being said, I think Britney still sucks. :) |

I didn't say I worried....I said it got on my nerves. Kinda like when people on here say that the Hawaii state flag should change. And then you had to post and say "do your history"...kinda like that might have irritated you, same type of thing. No big deal.....we both don't lose sleep over it, and we both don't hate the people who say things like that. Trust me honey, I have plenty to worry about other than Britney. ;) And with that being said, I think Britney still rocks! :) |

Steven Cojocaru, "COJO" from Entertainment Tonight, called Britney's mockery of the hanbok a fashion faux pas .
'Nuff said. |

I think Nicole wore it to an awards show in the US. However, it was in California (or NY) where there is a large Chinese community. People thought that she pulled it off fine. I don't know what the reaction was in China-China, but my immigrant parents (from Hong Kong) both said that she looked lovely. But then again, Nicole looks great in just about anything. |
first of all......i don't remember britney ever claiming to be a good singer, but i have heard her say that it's/she's "all about the music"........there's my problem. if it was all about the music, she'd let her real voice come through and keep at least most of her clothes on. it's not all about the music with her, and therefore she's not only annoying as crapola, she's a liar. bwahaha! and no one likes a liar. ;)
second of all, she looks silly in that outfit. however, at least she's covered up. and i'll take her lookin silly and covered up anyday over trashy and exposed. thank you, and have a good day. :D ETA: the difference btwn nicole and britnasti is that nicole is classy, and britney is class-less.....ever notice how you can get away with a lot more when you are a respected person in the community? britney can't get away with anything without being scrutinized b/c she's not well-respected. a lot of ppl think she's tacky and slutty.....a lot of ppl think nicole is elegant and respectable. therefore, ppl can appreciate her efforts moreso than britney's. |
