sorry.... can't help myself....

Homer: America, take a good look at your beloved candidates. They're nothing but hideous space reptiles. {unmasks them} {audience gasps in terror}
Kodos: It's true, we are aliens. But what are you going to do about it? It's a two-party system; you have to vote for one of us.
{murmurs} Man1: He's right, this is a two-party system.
Man2: Well, I believe I'll vote for a third-party candidate.
Kang: Go ahead, throw your vote away. {Kang and Kodos laugh out loud}

Bush all the way!!!!!

abaici 12-10-2003 03:12 AM

I'm voting for Howard Dean.

kafromTN 12-10-2003 09:03 AM

If I could vote more than once, Bush would get all my votes.

As far as Clark being a career soldier, other Generals wouldn't vote for him. Also something like 80+% of the military approve of the way Bush is handling things across the board so far. I know not that many people at my place of business are that thrilled with the CEO.

Simply because I don't like generalities (no pun intended), I think it's more fair to say "some" generals wouldn't vote for him. Unless, of course, you've polled all of the generals.

I hate generalizing things as well...I made a mistake, but there have been 2 or 3 3 star Generals who have stated they wouldn't vote for Clark, but they said thye would not go into detail as to why.

Sorry for not having made it as specific as it should have been the 1st time.

Rudy Guliani.

Bush has my vote.

Watched the Dems debate the other night, and wanted so badly to ask John Kerry, "Hey John, why the long face?" :D

Anyway, after watching that debacle, the choice (for me) is clear: Bush all the way.

So it's not just me that thinks his head is shaped like a banana?

Dunno yet.

Eventhough I'm a registered democrat, that Dean dude gives me the creeps.

pirepresent 12-10-2003 06:57 PM

I'm voting for either Gephardt or Clark, because I think they both have a good chance of beating Bush in the general election... but in the end, I'll support whoever has the opportunity to give G.W. the boot.

Yeah, I've heard some of them. I'd like to know their reasons. They may be very good -- or they may be purely political. He may have outmanuvered them on his/their road to flag rank. If he is not qualified, they're not doing any of us any good by keeping silent on their reasons.

Of course the military is not an apolitical profession in the higher ranks, so they may be wise to keep their thoughts to themselves. He could conceivably be their Commander In Chief someday.

I'd also be interested in knowing how the majority of other flag officers feel. Two or three outspoken generals aren't necessarily a consensus -- although it's possible that they speak for one. We just don't know.

Edited to add, I'm not disagreeing with your statement about some generals not liking him -- simply the generality, which is easy to do.

CatStarESP4 12-10-2003 07:42 PM

I don't know who I will vote for, but it will be AABB!

DeltAlum,

I know you just wanted me to be specific, and I agree I should have been more specific, that's why I added the information on another post.

One of them, can't think of his name, stated he values character and that is why he owuldn't vote for him, but that's all he said, probably b/c he didn't want to piss off Democrats as they could possibly control the White House while that General is still in the service. A couple Colonels have said they don't like him (this was on Foxnews so maybe it's b/c the Colonels are Republican).

I've talked to a few acquaintances in the military, and a couple random guys from Birmingham, AL and they love Bush and want him in the White House as long as possible, b/c they know "people who join whle he is there want to do a job, not get a paycheck"

What he meant by this was there are people ready to fight instead of wanting to just hang out.

DeltAlum 12-11-2003 12:33 AM

Mark,

Don't misunderstand. I know you can't be more specific about how the Generals feel because they haven't given their reasons. No way you can know that stuff.

My only point is that I don't know whether a majority (again, no pun intended) of generals feel about Clark just from the comments of a very few.

That's all.
