1. scudded ---means you trippin'
2. skully- means good ol'fashioned head bangin action (if you know what I mean)
3."that's bold"-means you are forward,blunt.

Just to name a few.....

also
1. "get at me" means either holla (which is good)or we can fight (which is bad)
2. "(don't talk about it) be about it"- back in the day it meant handle your business
3. (MEMPHIS SLANG) "YOU SLAW"-means you ain't sh**
4. "kick it" (my fav I use alot)-means sex or chillin'
5. "metrosexual"- a guy whose not gay but has feminine ways
6. "hecks naw"- means oh no

I heard today about a salon in Detroit for the 'metrosexual man' and I was so confused about who he is and what he needs with his own salon  Thank you for the clarification on that slang.

Now I need to quietly exit this forum cause I still say "that's fresh" when I'm excited about something. I am completely out of it when it comes to slang.

A cousin has recently gotten in the habit of saying
"that's what's up" as an answer to almost anything.

Me: The weather sure is nice today.
Him: Yeah, it is...that's what's up!

Me: I like your shirt.
Him: Thanks cuz....that's what's up!

Me: We're having chicken for dinner tonight
Him: on yeah? That's what's up!

He will also follow it up with "no doubt", or sometimes just "no doubt...that's what's up"

I wanna smack him up side his head when he does that! It's annoying as heck. he's in the military, so I'm not sure where it came from.

That's another piece of slang that came out of Philly. When I first came to school in Florida, some girl told me during our first conversation that she knew I had to be from Philly because I said "that's wassup."

"slide"--fight

"getting fly"--copping an attitude

things i've noticed...

depending on how you stretch out the word "minute" determines the length. ex. :

"i aint seen her in a m i n u t e" would be a long time
"let me holla at you for a minute " would be a short period of time

i've also noticed that slang for the act of sex sounds so dang violent and un-romantic: cut, knock it off, get in the guts, bust it open, hit that...

That happened to me when I was in a public restroom talking to my cousin. I called somebody "ignorant" and some woman came out of the bathroom stall and said I had to be from Jersey.

Also:
crazy, nuts, ridiculous-- something was really extraordinary, usually in a good way, but sometimes in a bad way

buppy -- used to define a black yuppie (young, urban professional) this seems to be making a comeback

hoodrat-- ghetto girl

nice (pronounced "nyce")-- tipsy, drunk enough to be happy, but still in control

sup-- abbreviated wassup

Soror, I call people ignorant. I thought that was universal. BUT, I also thought the word triflin' was universal 'til I got to college. Or maybe it's a Black thang. Dunno.

Help me out with the difference in pronunciation between nice and nyce. Cuz I'll use that on the kiddies.

The newest thing I've heard the girls use is "you're mad." And it CMTFU! If I "curry" someone, this one girl (who is NOTORIOUS for doing this) turns to said curried person and says, "oh, you're mad." Her voice kills me each time she says it. I have to laugh. I have no self-control when it comes to not laughing at the kids. Shoot, stuff be funny. :D
