And yeah.....I don't like Luka very much either. Especially the way he is currently being written.

honeychile 11-21-2003 11:51 AM

I don't see the big Luka attraction, either, but then dark & moody never did a thing for me! I grew up thinking I was really odd because I thought the "tall, dark & handsome" thing was kinda blech.

Anyhow, the helicopter was there to transport a patient to another hospital. Frank taunted Dr. Romano that "he wouldn't go up to the helipad either, if that had happened to him," so Romano had to go up (the patient had left his Rolex in the ER). He had Parminder (what's her name on the show?) give the watch to the patient, then he left, ending up in the ambulance bay (screaming at people as per usual).

Dr. Susan's ex, Chuck, tried to get on the helicopter, but they wouldn't let him because of insurance reasons. In the way of an accident, you saw the windsock going berserk, then the helicopter swerving out of control. It hit the helipad, throwing debris everywhere, then fell off the roof of the hospital. It exploded halfway down (into the operating room where Luka & the new nurse (what's her name?!) were with a patient, then you saw Dr. Romano looking up and saying, "Oh, no!" as the helicopter was crashing down into the ambulance bay.

****

I really think that the least they could have done was find his body or somehow complete that picture.

Senusret I 11-21-2003 12:00 PM

thanks for completing the picture honeychile, because i really couldn't remember the details about why they were on the roof.

and i agree...romano definitely should have been found during the episode.... i didn't like the fact that he was SO nasty in his last hours.

vanda 11-21-2003 12:32 PM

I was hoping it was going to be the guy Romano caught lighting up that was gonna die because he serves absolutely no purpose at all. Oh yeah, I hate Luka too.

dzandiloo 11-21-2003 02:37 PM

I read a spoiler somewhere that said originally, in the very end of the episode, a fireman finds a prosthetic arm near the wreckage and says something like "now how did that get out here?" I guess that was either a false spoiler or got edited out.

That was quite possibly the most graphic ER I have ever seen. I couldn't sleep b/c I kept replaying the shrapnel from the helicopter flying around in the elevator & Neela watching that other lady getting it in the back & then Romano's terrified face as it came down on him. COMPLETE TENSION!

I wish it had been Weaver or Morris to get crushed. Morris is the dumbest storyline ever, and Weaver, well, I hate Weaver (unlike Romano, who I loved to hate).

I *heart* Susan and Chuck though. How cute was he--"I scraped my back a little" hehe NO FOOL, YOU HAVE PERFORATED YOUR SPLEEN!!!! Gotta love having a little happy story on ER for once.

honeychile 11-21-2003 08:16 PM

Andi, thank you SO MUCH for telling us Neela's name. I just haven't been able to get it. Now, for the new nurse's name...

I agree with the difference between the disliking a character & loving to hate one - and while I really don't like Carrie Weaver AT ALL, I do love to hate Dr. Romano. Part of me hopes that we're all being led down the primrose path & he's somehow escaped!

Oh, the med student blazing up in the ambulance bay - he's a waste of plot material.

**
I read where people think that ER has really lost a lot of interest. As much as I may miss Mark Green, Carol, or Doug,

I still Y my ER!!!!!!!!

ShaedyKD 11-22-2003 12:19 AM

The new nurse's name is Sam Taggert, I just watched the first episode she was on (I had taped it from a few weeks ago).

Jill1228 11-22-2003 05:44 AM

Thandie Newton played in Mission Impossible 2 opposite Tom Cruise.

I gotta admit I am a Luka lover...damn that man is TOO FINE!

I like Carrie Weaver and I sure as hell won't shed a tear if Dr. Romano is dead....what a jackass!

How tacky!!! Not a single ONE person from the ER could find the time to make it to Dr. Romano's memorial?!

If this is a way of phasing out Dr. Corday, too, I'm really gonna be angry.

honeychile 12-05-2003 12:25 AM

I am glad that Neela is being "fleshed out" as a character, though.

They are wiggedy wack for skipping Romano's memorial. Ugh.

And Dr. Corday is one of the best actresses on the show. They need to make more use of her.

AND FINALLY.....I am in love with Neela. Not literally, but I really REALLY like her character. I have always had a soft spot for South Asians and the British. She's both in one! :-D

vanda 12-05-2003 07:22 PM

I was so loving Neela venting at Ike's last night. I like her character. Now what will the ER writers do with Mekhis Phifer's role now that he sees that Gallant's sister has MS. Hopefully, they won't make him a bigger jerk than he alreagy is. The nurse's son is started to get on my nerves too.

pinkyphimu 12-05-2003 10:46 PM

i can't believe last night's episode. honestly, i didn't like the fact that they barely mentioned romano was dead. i definately didn't like him, but he was a character for so long!!! he really deserved something more than that.

honeychile 04-02-2004 12:00 AM

Oh, Neela's character is really coming along well!!!

Am I the only one who is laughing myself silly over the pervert & the Catholic school girls?!

mullet81 04-02-2004 12:14 AM

OMG i love gallant... i hope he doesn't get fired or sued big time :(

(i watch way too much television)

"Goretti girls" get their man.
Police: Students chase man who exposed himself

By Ira Porter

Inquirer Staff Writer

There is nothing sweeter than revenge. And that is what the "Goretti girls" of St. Maria Goretti High School in South Philadelphia got yesterday when they chased down and beat up a man who allegedly had exposed himself to the students for the last month.

Police and neighborhood residents said between 20 and 30 girls, all dressed in their uniforms, dropped their book bags and jumped in after the man allegedly began to expose himself again. Onlookers and neighbors cheered the girls on and shouted "Pervert!" at the man.

After police arrived at the scene minutes later - shortly after noon - the man was taken into custody and driven to St. Agnes Medical Center, where he was treated for an injury to his mouth.

Police expected to charge the 25-year-old South Philadelphia man with multiple counts of harassment, stalking, indecent exposure, and corrupting the morals of a minor in connection with seven incidents.

The first encounter was Sept. 14. Police said 13 students were victimized, some more than once.

The latest encounter took place yesterday, when the man exposed himself to two girls walking in the 2000 block of South 10th Street, police said. It happened shortly after the school's 12:15 p.m. early dismissal.

Except this time, police said, some of the girls and people from the neighborhood counterattacked. At one point, police said, the man broke free and tried to run.

Robert "Bobby" Lemons, who owns Rose's Food Market at 10th and McKean Streets, was one of two men who caught the man.

"I was bringing the countertop up from my basement, and I saw him in the street acting really funny," Lemons said. "He was rubbing himself, but he wasn't exposed yet."

Lemons said the man was up the street by a parked van, gesturing as if he were urinating, but then exposed himself to two girls after they passed by. Lemons walked across the street to tell a friend. They split up on both sides of the street and chased the man, tackling him in the middle of the block.

"Everybody was saying, 'Don't hit him, Bobby, don't hit him,' so I didn't," Lemons said. But while he was holding the man down, "the girls came and started kicking him and punching him, so I wasn't going to stop them," he said.

Lemons said the man tried to pull a knife from his pocket.

Kelly Simone, 15, was the first girl to get in a lick on the man. Simone, a sophomore at Goretti, recognized the man from sketches posted around school. Her friend was one of the girls to whom the man allegedly exposed himself yesterday.

"I looked down the street, and Bobby had the... man on the ground," Kelly said. "I went up to him, and he started grabbing at my feet, so I kicked him. All the girls were scared to touch him, but I said: 'Let's show him what we can do.' "

Thomas Simone, Kelly's father, said he was proud of his daughter and her classmates.

"They beat the crap out of him," he said, laughing.

"I'm glad they did it for themselves and that they didn't let this guy go," Thomas Simone said.

"You know what's funny? They got their own revenge. The girls got him without the police."

There are a few shows i watch regliously and one of them is ER. From the very beginning when george was just george clooney and not a huge HOTTIE and dr green was still goose from top gun or a nerd.

Though everyone hates dr romano i loved him becauser he was such a buttwipe....hehehhe ....for a better word....but i loved that guy ever since "Fame" and was soo happy to see him join ER when he did. How he ( romano) was ....WOW and how no one showed up to his memorial was in a way sad but as romano was he was a class A @%* they though should of had more attention on it though. However now they have him directing more shows of ER ever since the characters death.

I watched last night and the girls chasing and beating up the pervert was a riot.

Does anyone know if Noah Wylie is coming back next season or not or if this is his final season?

Jill1228 04-03-2004 05:27 AM

I hear ya! I am ready to divorce my husband because he forgot to tape ER last night while I was at work

Yes, Noah's coming back next year. I hear that Alex Kingston (Lizzie) is leaving though.

That makes sense....there's really nothing for her to do.

honeychile 04-04-2004 03:16 PM

It makes sense, but I think they've misused her character. They just lost Dr. Romano - who will be the ever-present surgeon?

ASUADPi 04-05-2004 01:30 PM

I used to be a huge ER fan, but I just cannot get into the show anymore.

I kept watching after George left for Juliana and the character of Carol. Then she left and I was sad but happy that I got to see my Doug and Carol reunion.

I sporadically watched the show after Carol left, then they killed off Dr. Green (because Anthony was leaving).

Then the show got kind of old.

I personally believe they should have ended it while they were ahead.

ER used to be the number one show. Now I don't even think they are in the top 10 (top 20 I believe but don't quote me on this).

Just my opinion.

honeychile 04-08-2004 11:30 PM

ACK!!!

Gallant is on his way to Iraq?!?!?!?!?

Susan is on complete bed rest?!?!?!?!?!?

Sandy (Carrie Weaver's lover) dies, and her family keeps her son?!?!?!?!?

How much are we supposed to handle?!?!?!?!?

agreed!!! IT'S TOO MUCH FOR ONE EPISODE!!!!!

Senusret I 04-08-2004 11:44 PM

Okay, I saw the last half of the show, but could someone please summarize the entire episode for me?

ASUADPi 04-09-2004 12:03 AM

I would if I could but I can't because it has yet to air here on the west coast. At least in Arizona I have another 17 minutes before the episode starts.

When did Sandy and Kerry have a kid? I remember a couple of seasons back Kerry was pregnant than miscarried and then she and Sandy talked and Kerry had mentioned that she thought Sandy should carry the child this next time around. You can obviously tell how not often I watch this show anymore.

WCUgirl 04-09-2004 12:07 AM

OMG! I cannot believe they did that to Carrie. I had a feeling that was going to happen but then they ACTUALLY went there...it makes me so angry and it's not real! Hubby is looking at me like I'm crazy because I'm screaming at the tv! Anyways, I don't think Gallant was called up...I think he volunteered to run away from the mess. And I can't believe Abby failed her boards! She has so much potential.

When is Carter coming back? And what about that crap with Sam's son's father showing up?!

Peaches-n-Cream 04-09-2004 12:39 AM

I felt bad for Dr. Weaver. I haven't watched the show in a while, since Rocket Romano was squashed, so I'm not sure about when the baby was born. This episode was so sad.

WCUgirl 04-09-2004 01:08 AM

The baby was born about 4 or 5 episodes ago...whenever Abby and Neela were working in the NICU.

smiley21 05-13-2004 10:23 PM

anyone else already freaking on the opening of the season finale?!

honeychile 05-13-2004 10:55 PM

Yep!!!

smiley21 05-13-2004 11:16 PM

no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! darn those cliffhangers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

honeychile 05-13-2004 11:23 PM

Do you realize how many of the main characters have a chance of being written out?!?!?! Jen May & Pratt may have been killed, Neela is in a medical turmoil, Sam & her son are taking off, Carrie is busy at court - the only ones guaranteed to be returning are Carter, Abby, and Kovach!!

smiley21 05-13-2004 11:26 PM

too much is going on. i cannot handle it!!!

honeychile 05-13-2004 11:32 PM

*brain exploding!*

1savvydiva 05-13-2004 11:46 PM

what happened...i'm at work

Senusret I 05-14-2004 12:19 AM

First Marlena dies....then Da Band gets dismantled....now THIS!

1sd, I can't even summarize like I want to, but basically Jing_mei and Pratt were involved in a high speed chase and got shot at.....Kerry Weaver was in court trying to get custody of her son....Neela quit her internship on the first day....Abby passed her boards....Carter appeared to be leaving the ER (had a box under his arm as he walked onto the El)....and the nursie lady that Kovac was dating skipped town with her kid.

The first REAL cliffhanger I've seen in a loooong time.
