I remember those numbers going thru a few years ago. Hopefully things will turn around in the fall. It is Chelon and I think she's been so proactive about things, it's great.
BTW, I think I read somewhere that you advise at Iowa now, just curious but how many women typically go thru formal there?

Chelon is wonderful.

I think about 600 girls went through recruitment last year at Iowa (I'm not positive, though). Quota was 30 or 31 and Total is 120. The campus atmosphere is very different than at Iowa State and the girls going through recruitment tend to be from the Chicago/Milwaukee/Minneapolis area than from a town in Iowa.

Total: the fraternities don't have a ceiling (at least I don't believe they do), ceiling for UBC sororities is 50.

Hmmm. That number for total is way off from what I've been told. My understanding was that total was 105, but that we had grown past that number ages ago. (The average NPC chapter size at UCF is 151.)

Maybe I'm misinformed, though.

Chapter Total at UCF is 110. A ZTAngel and Sherbertlemons said, most of our chapters are 40+ over this number. I've had friends from other schools look through my Bid Day photos and exclaim, "Your new member class is larger than my entire chapter!"

Name of the School: University of Mississippi (Ole Miss)

Approx. Student population: 9,700 (12,200 including graduate)

Number of GLO’s: 9 NPC sororities
15 IFC fraternities

Total: Total what? My chapter has 250+ not sure exactly how many. This year pledge class was 91.

All of the chapters range from 200-260 members.

School: University of Maryland-College Park
Undergrad population: 25,000
Number of NPC groups: 14
Chapter total: 95, although few orgs are at it

Christopher Newport University

population about 5,000

4 NPC organizations (I'm not sure if the most recent one is still a colony or if they received their charter this semester)

total is 50...I know the three older organizations here are over total (thanks to formal recruitment) and I believe that the most recent one is somewhere between 35 and 50 (not sure how they did with COB after formal recruitment)

Blue Violets 04-09-2004 03:00 AM

Duke University
6,000 undergrads
9 Panhel Sororities (ADPi, AOII, DG, Tridelta, Chi-O, Theta, KKG, Alpha Phi, PiPhi)
I'm not sure what our total is, I think it's something like 130
I do know that the quotas have been variable in recent years, we have deferred (spring) rush (I know Spring 2004--36, Spring 03--42, Spring 02--39, Spring 01--49)

FirstAndFinest 04-09-2004 02:34 PM

I advise at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY

1750 undergrads, 400 grad students
3 NPCs (ADPi, AOPi, ASA) and 1 local Sorority
Total is 45, yet I think only 2 are at or close. The local has only a handful of members.
2 fraternities, TKE and Theta Chi
KSA and AKO (coed fraternities)
also Groove Phi Groove and Delta Nu/Delta Nu Little Sisters
I have no idea about the numbers for the men or coeds.
