I think he really was drinking coffee. Cuz after he got out, or the next day, they were saying stuff like "He didn't even drink and he got sick!" Plus, he didn't seem drunk at all to me. Maybe I misunderstood, though...

Does anyone know?

I'm guessing that she's just pretty much autonomous, and he's busy doing whatever he does in between taking 5 minutes to design polo shirts.

Who needs parental involvement when you're THAT RICH

SATX*APhi 11-26-2003 12:43 AM

Anyone still watching?

kdonline 11-26-2003 12:47 AM

yes! Tonight's show was all about the bulldog! Woohoo!

Poor dog - she was wearing the worst collar: a choke chain! Made me so angry!

(I volunteer with English Bulldog Rescue.. )

MeLikey 11-26-2003 01:49 AM

Jamie's dog was ADORABLE, esp. when it was walking on 2 feet. Did they ever say how old Michael is? I figure he's younger, but by how many years?

On one of the episodes Ally explained that are parents are still married but separated. Her father does have a girlfriend and she was in one of the episodes.

I still don't know who Ally lives with.

absolutuscchick 11-26-2003 02:16 PM

I'm pretty sure she lives with her dad, as they've never shown her mom yet!!

ZTAngel 11-26-2003 03:12 PM

Next week's episode looks funny.

Ally chews out Tommy Hilfiger because her therapists told her that she never had a childhood.

Should be interesting.

SparkliiQTMTSU 11-26-2003 10:03 PM

I actually like the show I mean they seem like nice girls yes theyre rich as anything but still they live basically normal lives with normal problems anyways lol not really normal lives but its neat.

Ok just saw a rerun of this, and
A) WTF w/ this comment? "People just don't understand fashion. I mean, people from New York wear cargoes b/c they think, I can wear them with stilettoes and a cute top like I was going to do tonite....but people in the midwest wear them because they have lots of pockets and they need that for their tools."

WTF??? I'm sorry but I live in the Midwest and I've NEVER been on a farm in my life. And seriously, what farmer do you know that wears satiny cropped cargoes while hay bailing???

Yes she was making a generalization. But, I think her point is that fashionistas where stuff 'cause it's cute or trendy while others where things because of the practicality.

PM_Mama00 11-28-2003 02:18 PM

I think the point of the show wasn't to flaunt how much money they have, but to show that money doesn't buy happiness.

I can kinda relate. No I'm not like millionarish rich. But my friends and everyone think that just because my family has money that we shouldn't have a care in the world.

I saw the one episode (the 4th of July one) where they were talking about going to Africa or something to help out. I know girls that have lots of money here and all they care about is their burberry clothing and buying the best things money can offer.

SparkliiQTMTSU 11-29-2003 03:17 AM

yeah I totally see that. They really do care about giving to others. I mean Ally's graduation present was a donation to a charity and of course the party but still I mean she was so grateful that her father had done that for her.

MeLikey 11-29-2003 12:22 PM

Yeah I really liked seeing that aspect of the girls. In the 4th of July episode, they were like let's watch a movie, I thought it would be some typical teenage movie, but instead it was the movie about Africa.

MeLikey 12-10-2003 12:55 AM

The guys they picked up tonight in LA... ok they were there just because of the cameras! It was funny when Allie's like can we stop talking about clothes? Hahaha... I felt bad for Liz though, thought she was cool in a previous episode!

But still I wonder if they really do understand? I mean it's one thing to watch a movie, but it's another to witness and know what it's like. Granted I've never been over seas to a third world country, but I've donated enough of my time to different projects in really bad neighborhoods (including the slums of New Orleans). I don't think they've ever done homeland community service in their life!

ThetaGrrl 12-10-2003 01:58 PM

Just a few episodes ago, they were talking about how they should not spend so much money on shoes, because they could "save a life" somewhere with that money.

Then Jamie spends $455 on boots.

Hmm...

AOII_LB93 12-11-2003 12:38 AM

Can I just ask how you all watch this show? I watched it last week and had to go to bed because I was so disgusted with these girls...I mean, whining because you don't know how to make a friggin burrito? Don't whine and complain about it...I doubt the guys at the grocery store want to help you. GET THEE TO A TACO BELL you spoiled little *****.

LMAO!!!! You just typed what I was thinking!!!! My friend tapes the show for me and I watched several episodes tonight. Puh-leze. Ally needs to be slapped.

mullet81 12-17-2003 01:12 AM

Did anyone watch tonights episode? OMG Jamie and Liz need to grow up and stop one-uping each other for Ally's affection and attention. Seriously, lame.

Jamie was the worst though. She couldn't make the best of the situation, have fun, embrace the moment! Liz and Ally have been friends for 13 years - get over it, let them be friends, stop being jealous!

efcheerBB 12-17-2003 01:17 AM

I understand what Jamie was going through, but in the opposite. I have been friends with my best friend for about 7 or 8 years, and whenever I am hanging out with her and her friends from college, I feel left out...I do end up having fun with them in the end. It's just awkward at first, but I am able to get over it, unlike her...

Lil' Hannah 12-17-2003 12:12 PM

I agree with what Ally said about Jaime in the last episode - that she needs to surround herself with happy people in order to be happy. I think that the friends she has now are too self-involved to really let go and have a good time.

BTW, here's an article about Jamie from the Columbia Spectator (She's a student at Barnard). http://www.columbiaspectator.com/vne.../3fbb47de27c14

MeLikey 12-17-2003 07:45 PM

Ah, was wondering what ivy league college she was referring to last night. These girls sure do love to buy toys!

SparkliiQTMTSU 12-17-2003 11:57 PM

lol they really do like toys. They are always going into toystores! Its cute though. but yeah I think that they can be normal or somewhat have normal lives I mean granted they are ultra privleged but hey it doesnt mean they dont have problems of course we can solve our problems like they do theirs lol like taking trips to far off places but oh well. Im just glad I havent seen that one kid around lately. He was annoying!!!

GeoffZ 12-18-2003 03:22 AM

The whole fighting over Ally thing was lame. What's so great about her anyways? She's really flakey and indecisive. The funniest part of the show was Liz freaking out over her burnt hair and then Jamie's reaction. You know she just wanted to smack her, lol.

xok85xo 12-21-2003 12:54 PM

how did jamie justify not going to greece because of homesickness and anxiety attacks, etc..but it was okay for her to go to london?

MeLikey 12-21-2003 01:47 PM

I think they were going to Greece for like a month? (not sure though) and London was only a week? (not sure about that one either), yeah I'm a huge help!

Unregistered- 12-21-2003 05:27 PM

I'm sorry, I can't get over "I FEEL LIKE MAKING A BURRITO." BURRITO BURRITO BURRITO.

Don't *(&#@$ing tell the grocer guy that you're making a Mexican meal if all you're making are BURRITOS! Grr.

she wanted to make nachos too :)

smiley21 12-21-2003 09:29 PM

what i think is so freakin hysterical is how Ally tries to be so deep and introspective. am i the only one who think she is really being fake? i think she tries too hard

UKDaisy 12-21-2003 09:58 PM

I think Ally tries to hard too. But she's kinda at that age where I think a lot of girls do that.

My roommate and I watched the marathon and then I ended up going shopping afterwards. BAD IDEA!!!!

GeoffZ 12-22-2003 01:08 AM

I agree that Ally tries to hard. There's no need to analyze everything to the 100th degree. She's a little too in touch with her feelings. But, I don't see it as being fake....just young.

I agree. Ally's really not a whole lot different than tons of the teenage girls that I know; she's not really all that different from what I was like before college. Which is sort of refreshing and sort of terrifying.

She's just trying to do that teenage girl thing and "find herself," and since she won't be heading off to college this is as good a time as any.

I think part of it was, as mentioned, the time factor (a week versus a month), but I also think that the fact that they would be going somewhere where they didn't speak the language was stressing her out. It can be a really stressful situation and I can see how if she's already not in the best mental shape it would be a good trigger for panic attacks.

Rio_Kohitsuji 12-23-2003 11:37 PM

All I'm going to say is that I love Allie and hate/despise/wish death upon Jamie.

pinkyphimu 12-31-2003 02:13 AM

did anyone else catch the final episode? jamie looked so happy going off to school and i bet that the designers want to hang allie by her pretty toenails!!!!

absolutuscchick 12-31-2003 02:31 AM

I cant wait for the final episode!!! like 15 minutes...

GeoffZ 12-31-2003 03:35 AM

Jamie did look happy at school. The happiest she's looked all season. I'm glad she stopped stressing. She should drop Michael V. too. That kid is such a tool. Tommy cleaning out Ally's closet was funny. He really hates Ralph Lauren. I wonder if Ally will continue to work on the line.

Jadey28 12-31-2003 10:14 AM

Man, now what am I going to watch on Tuesday night? I really liked that show....oh wait, the new season of The Real World starts soon! Gotta have my reality TV fix!

butterfly2001nc 12-31-2003 12:25 PM

i missed some of the final episdode can someone tell me what happened?

thanks!

OrigamiTulip 12-31-2003 01:03 PM

I actually like Jaime. She really reminds me of my first sophmore year roommate.

And why isn't Ally going to college? Wasn't she an honors student?
