Clark's homecoming is this weekend. I wonder how things are going to be since the school is in financial straits; they've cut several programs and they are in the middle of a hiring freeze. Are they going to cut down on a couple of things? or is it going to be homecoming as usual?

1savvydiva 10-25-2003 11:57 AM

Okay, even though it's not an HBCU (like most of those in this thread), S.Car has homecoming events going on this weekend. I went to the stepshow last nite...all I have to say is, "Them DAYUM Nupes!" :D Why was it a mini-production with programs and all? Why did they have on nice suits and they did a "The way you move" skit complete with 'Bentley' coming out of left field (for like 10 seconds), dancing with a red sweater/bowtie, white shirt/slacks and a Kappa umbrella? WHY oh WHY did the audience go bananas? Why did I really enjoy myself...and I didn't get in 'till after 4am? Now I am up and in preparation to go out...you know we gotta go tailgating! :D HOLLA!

AKADIVA12 10-25-2003 01:58 PM

Homecoming was a lot of fun at Howard. I didn't know how much I could miss college. Alpha Chapter performed really well at the Step Show. Actually, everyone performed well. I'm trying to acquire a tape of the stepshow, so if anyone knows how I can go about getting that, please let me know.

The funny part is, being a high school teacher, I ran into a lot of my former students. I'm not that much older than they are, but it feels funny when you're on the yard chillin' with college friends and someone screams, "MS. JONES"!!! That's no joke. I got a lot of that during the weekend. Trying to mess up my action (just kidding, yeah right). Nevertheless, I had a blast. I am going back to Howard for homecoming next year, but a couple of sorors want to go to FAMU for homecoming as well. So it looks like I'll be making two trips for homecoming next year.

Kodaka 10-27-2003 01:04 AM

Get geeked, get geeked, it's hoooomecoming week!

Do they still say that on the yard?!??....I don't know.... BUT, I'm really excited this year! Here's the website, where we are clearly not trying to compete with Howard's HC site  :

Check out this year's Honoree, Soror Mary Adams!

It must have been homecoming as usualy. A chapter soror returned yesterday from the activities and she claimed that it was 'all that'. I know they had some kind of alumni party Saturday night.

LMAO @ 2-5...In YOUR house...Yes indeed!

J-State tried to cheat (as usual). We played like retards (even though it was raining cats and dogs) in the first quarter, but the SWAC champs were VICTORIOUS!

Ummmm, why is J-state's band so weak? We were really bored. :o

Girl I know!!!

Anyway, I'm glad that ya'll won. I'm always cheering for GSU until Bayou Classic (my daddy is a Gramblinite). Did you stay over in Jackson? To me the city itself is boring. Well I'll be in the village of Grambling this weekend for the game. :D It should be nice since I have family up that way. Have a nice homecoming.

Gsu 2003

Hello Sorors,
I am anxiously awaiting our tiger homecoming. I had to miss the J state game because the flu bug bit my house. But I had to get some r & r for this weekend. Soror AKA2D, see ya soon. I hope all sorors who have had homecoming enjoyed as much as I will.

AKA2D '91 10-28-2003 09:09 AM

Heck yes, I stayed in Jackson. It rained to no end. After the game, we ate (where the service sucked, but fortunately I didn't have to pay. Oh, I didn't have to regulate either. I guess the expressions on my face said it ALL! :o ), then we went back to the room. My 'do' was done.

I'll be in the village, in front of the union and cafe...all of dat! Look for the AKA plate #107! ;)

Soror C, I'm staying at Hampton Inn. I should get up there around noon on Friday. :D

I plan to have fun this weekend with my lil brother...it may be hard since I'm to drive my daddy and a couple of his Fraternity brothers up there (which should be a treat since they will be full of Omega Oil:rolleyes: ) .

Bayou Classic

I know this doesn't concern homecoming but will anyone be attending the Bayou Classic this year?

pretty edAKAted 11-08-2003 04:04 PM

Tennessee State Homecoming was offf the friggin chain!! I tell ya!
I went to the StepShow (Stompfest) and OMG, let me tell you I trained and those girls wore me O-U-T!! They had the AKA flag and everything.

The AKA's Alpha PSi (just darlings) got 2nd place, should have gotten first anywayz.

The Delta's got 1st place, Alphas got 1st for the fraternity and the SGRhos didnt place.

The SGRhos had on majorette uniforms ya'll. with batons... they did a majorette routine ... with real band music on tape.... with gold mary jane shoes.... and blue and gold sequin majoret uniforms ... with the fringes!!

I think they would have done great if it was a battle of the bands but... It was a step show. I applaud their efforts though they did represent in the audience!!!! :D

AKA2D '91 11-10-2003 10:41 AM

Soror, STOP IT!

LMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I went to TSU...the show was great....but I think the Sigmas should have gotten 2nd instead of the TSU Alphas. The AA&M Alphas did earn their 1st place spot. The ape suits were cute....and when they stripped down to the white tuxs....._______/\_____ (flatline). They looked GOOD!!!!!!!!!

I think the UofMemphis Zetas, AX sorors and the TSU AKAs were in tight competition. They were the only shows worth looking at for the sororities.

I thought the flags for every org was a very lovely touch....we need to have those up here in KY!

Ok...I thought the SGRhos were stepping mules...and I was afraid that a shoe was going to go flying into the crowd.

All in all...the show was great!....until I found out that my CD player was stolen while I was at the show.
Yay me! :p

Sadly I will not be attending this years HC but I will be attending Bayou Classic. The great thing though is now that MBC has the rights to the HBCU games, I will be able to watch GRAMBLING's HC on tv, although it really won't be the same as being there.

btb87 09-20-2004 03:57 PM

ttt. . .

Not gonna be making homecoming this year (unless it's a very last-minute decision). :(

Y'all have fun for me, especially my fellow AGGIES!

So Sad

Its bad when you go to a school who really doesn't have a homecoming...you can't really get hyped about anything other than football...Thanks UNC-Greensboro...
But anyway,
I think that I will be attending the stepshow at A&T, but there is NO WAY that I am paying up to $60 for a concert that someone is not going to show up at!

But anyone of you guys are welcomed to attend Fall Fest at UNCG! LOL

My school is so jacked up.

Our homecoming football game isn't even being held at home . It is at a neighboring school's football stadium, in another STATE.

I decided to boycott all games not played on campus, which is all except TWO.

We need to stop with this Div. I nonsense!

My 21st BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! is the Sunday of NCA&T's homecoming weekend, so I'm planning my festivities accordingly... but y'all, I need help... I'm addicted to Howard's homecoming. Why have I gone every year since I started college? Why do I live and go to school 6 hours away? Why do I chill hard and take days off school like I go to HU? I booked a flight like 2 months in advance last year. Right now I'm coordinating my classes so I can fly up on Wednesday. WHAT AM I DOING??? I don't know what I'll do next year when my HU friends graduate... maybe I can join some sort of HU Groupie Alumni Association? I know I'm not the only one who hangs hard at schools I never sat in class at!
