Can someone fill me in on this site too, I'm very curious. It sounds VERY funny that someone is making up such random names for frats and sororities.

The funniest thing I read on FS is they claimed that a certain sorority that begins with a K makes their pledges eat a flower during initiation. I don't think it's true however.

I am also confused. I have only been part of GC for a few months and missed all this about the website. Could someone please PM me with address? I feel so out of the loop. Oh and Hootie, that website is terrible. I ran across it one day and I was disgusted with everything it said.

That board was so full of deliberate misinformation, personal attacks and various and sundry acts of wanton debauchery that it deserved being shut down. Good for a little snicker or two, though.:D

For relative newbies:

This hasn't really been discussed in the past few months, but the site has been discussed on GC in the past year/couple years. Do a search and find some threads if you're interested. The website is pretty bogus and funny!

There was extensive discussion about this years and months ago, but it may be difficult to find because posts were either deleted or moved to the moderators' or adminstrators' forum.

While those who have visited that site in the past may have found some humor in its content, many more found it offensive. Whether or not the content was true, of course we'll never know (as ridiculous as some of it is). Still, the posts regarding the site were removed for a PURPOSE, and I humbly ask that open discussion be kept to a bare minimum...or taken to the PMs.

I for one thinks this sucks!:(

THIS is why I really feel we don't need to go into talking about these things all the time. We constantly have new people on GC who will have their interest piqued and start googling and searching away trying to put 2 and 2 together. I really think the LESS you bring it up, the LESS people will go searching for it, and the sooner it will be a distant memory. As OTW says, the threads were removed for a reason (I personally don't care to have any more people searching for that crap!). If you need a "good laugh" so bad, try googling for a 'joke of the day' site!!!!

It was total bunk of course. Now, who wants to make a friendly wager that Souedika Kephtes shows up on some new message board months from now, or shows up in some self-proclaimed minister’s book?

I have yet to see anything of substance on this board. What meager secrets are here are lost in a sea of crap. And frankly, “huh”, you’ve got a meatball’s chance in Sweden of separating the grain from the chaff.

I think we need to start something to replace that hilarious forum just so wptw has a place to keep his wit, and his knife, sharp. He and a few others really did raise comeback posting to an artform.

Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, but at the same time I was NOT the only person asking and don't appreciate being singled out as the "best way to make the point" when plenty of others were asking, too, not to mention several others chatting about the sites in the first place!! In any event, while I did stumble across a particular site that I am sure has upset a great many people (and justifiably so!), you have to trust that your fellow Greeks are behind you and trust that people are intelligent enough to read whatever is out there and come to their own concusions.....free speech, baby!

It's NOT "funny" and "a good laugh" when any greek org gets trashed on a website - when people post lies and ridiculous accusations. And it's not my fellow greeks I'm worried about. I know you all know enough to see how stupid the sites are. It's the PNMs and parents of incoming Freshmen who will see these things, not realize they are hooey, and stay away from the greek system because of it. What do we not all understand about this?!?!?!?

I have to say xo kathy i agree with what your saying because if it was about my chapter i would be pissed to, but seriously you cant take that out on people that dont know about it or people that want to know whats going on. If people want to know thats there problem and if people start threads about stuff like that, then its when maturity kicks in and says im an adult, this is something that bothers me and just not read it. What is the point of going into the thread to begin with, honestly all it does is get you mad and go and yell at someone. I have to be honest that i know you were not taking a personal attack on someone but its only fair that if that thread goes up that the people who dont know whats going on can ask. Its not right for you to say that they are not. I myself asked what was going on cause i did not know. If people want to know and want to check it out, and saying they want a good laugh, is saying it because they realize the stuff is not true and laugh about it because its so stupid its funny. Hey! Listen, I feel REALLY BAD about the content of the website that shall remain nameless, and I never would have asked for the link if I knew what sort of stuff was involved! I thought it would be, like, Alpha Phi makes you eat goldfish or nonsense like that....I hear your concern about parents, etc....the bottom line is that people are going to form opinions and make stuff up, whether it is about Greeks, celebrities, or the average Joe on the street.....part of free speech is putting all the info out there and letting people decide for themselves....do you really want someone who does not have the intelligence to weed through crap information and form their own opinions as part of your group in the first place??

Ladies - I'm not yelling at people for asking. (Actually, I'm not yelling at all!) I get frustrated when people bring up the sites. I simply used someone's question post as a point to the people who are bringing up the threads. People won't ask if they have nothing to ask about. But then that person accused me of singling them out and I just wanted to let her know I wasn't trying to do that.

As far as not wanting people who actually believe those things, well, I had plenty of women who I am proud to call my sister be a little nervous about some things they had seen...

Also, I go into the thread to make sure nothing is being thrown around that shouldn't be. If someone posts a link, I want to make sure it gets removed (P.S. - I did that for another org besides my own in another thread...)
