Somebody! Anybody! Please tell me what happened tonight! My 'Child Birth Education' classes just started today, and I totally missed it! I don't know if I should continue with them, since they're on Thursday nights! LOL!

This is why I set my VCR to record, because usually I'm at bible study when Survivor is on...;)

To begin with, the six outcasts came back in, and Jeff talked with them and had each of them say why they should be voted back into the game. When it came time to vote, the outcasts voted for two members that they wanted to go back into the game, besides themselves. When the votes were tallied, Burton and Lil were voted back into the game, and the other four left the area again immediately. Then, to decide which tribe they would go to, one of them would step up and draw a buff out of a tube and that determined where they went. Lil volunteered, and drew the orange buff, so she went back to Morgan, while Burton went back to Drake. They each went back that night to the camp, and Lil was met at the boat by the other Morgan tribe members (who couldn't tell who it was for a minute), and Burton woke up the Drake members and let them see he was back.

The next morning, Rupert pulled Burton aside and explained why he voted Burton off in the first place, and after their discussion, they seemed to be back on good footing with one another. Lil and Savage were talking around the fire, and he kept saying how it was such a shock and not fair that people were let back in.

The two tribes met at the beach for an immunity challenge. Jeff asked about the food situation, and after Sandra got done saying what all the tribe had to eat the night before, he asked Savage about their food (which they were completely out of food, having just finished the last of their rice that morning). Savage made mention about not knowing when a merge would come with the big banquet, and Jeff asked Tijuana about a merge and she said that they have no clue when a merge is coming, they're not expecting it, etc. Well, Jeff tells them that there will be a merge today and tells them to take their old buffs off and gives them their new buffs (black). The immunity challenge was "Pirate Punishment", where the castaways had to swim under a long plank that had a cut out in the middle (if the castaway came up in that cutout, they had to start all over), climb up a ladder, cross the plank without falling in, jump back in, and repeat. They ran two heats of five castaways each, with the first two finishers moving on to the finals. In the first heat, Jon and Rupert were the top two, in the second heat, Burton and Ryan O were the top two. In the finals, they had to do this process five times, but while they were crossing the plank before jumping into the water again, they had to grab one medalion each time and transfer it from one end to the other, and once they had completed their five times and the medallion transfer, they had to jump into the water. It was a close race between Rupert and Burton at the end, and Burton just squeaked out the win over Rupert. Jeff told him that since he already had immunity from coming back into the game, he had the option of bestowing immunity on another player, and he had the rest of the day to think about it. The tribes returned to Drake's beach, where a feast waited for them, and they decided on the tribe name of Balboa.

After eating, the members of Morgan and Drake began strategizing who they'd vote for. Morgan members decided to go after Jon, while Drake thought about voting off Savage. Burton talked to Lil that the Drake members wanted her to vote with them, that they liked her and wanted to include her in their voting strategy. Savage came up to Lil and asked her to vote with Morgan, and she said she didn't know, and wouldn't know for a while. When he asked if she'd let him know before going to tribal council, Lil told Savage that she asked him to do the same the night she was voted out, and he never got back to her.

At tribal council, Burton elected to give immunity to Rupert, which left Lil, Burton and Rupert safe from the vote. After each vote was cast, Jeff read them off: Andrew, Savage, Savage, Andrew, Andrew, Jon, Jon, Jon, Jon.......Andrew.

Now, having said all that, I am SO    that the Drakes didn't get rid of Jon! He is annoying and the biggest a-hole in the entire world. When he was casting his vote against Savage, he talked in his taunting voice, and I was about ready to throw something through the TV (but then I couldn't watch it :p ;) ) and then as Jeff was reading the votes, Jon got the biggest smirk on his face as all the Andrew votes were read, but then when more and more Jon votes were coming out, you could see he was getting really nervous!

Really hoping that next week will finally be the week that Jon is gone from the game....but that means he's sitting on the jury :p

AXO_MOM_3 11-07-2003 02:14 AM

Great recap polarpi! I think Savage was pretty shocked when he saw his name read! He just sat there shaking his head.
I'm so ready for Jon to go to! What a nerd! I guess Drake still has the tribe mentality, and want to stay one up on Morgan. They were ready to vote Jon off if there had not been a merge. Hoping next week is the last time we see Jon!

Ginger 11-07-2003 01:19 PM

I kind of liked Savage... I was sad to see him go.

I have a scary feeling about Jon. Remember in the season where Porn-Star Brian won (I can never remember which is which)? Every week they talked about voting off Clay, because everyone hated him, but each week they felt more pressed to vote off a different person and put Clay on the back-burner. And in the end... he made it to the final two. I'm a little worried that's what will happen with Jon

ajuhdg 11-07-2003 02:06 PM

I caught the last ten minutes...but that was an awesome recap! I can't believe they kept Jon on there! I was so hoping his butt was gone! If he wins, I'll never watch the show again!

Don't worry, I'll remember to record for next week! I can't go through this again! LOL!

Scary thing is, I DO remember which season it was (Thailand)....after swearing I'd never watch the show when its first season premiered, I've never missed a season (even the semester I studied overseas, I had my mom tape it every week and I spent an afternoon watching all the tapes when I got home :D)

I have a scary feeling that that's going to happen as well. Even if it's not the plan to do that, I have a funny feeling that the week they finally commit to voting Jon off, is the week he'll win the individual immunity. They need to get him off ASAP, or he is going to waltz his way into the finals

No, it's obsession! :D I think I just like yelling at the players who I'm rooting for when they do dumb things, yell at the players who I don't like for just being there, and seeing what new twists they'll come up with this time! :)

madmax 11-08-2003 12:02 PM

I'd like to see Survivor take a page out of the Last Comic Standing eviction process. If someone gets nominated for eviction, that person then gets an opportunity to challenge any of the people that voted for them. They would then have a 1 on 1 immunity challenge and the loser goes home. It would prevent punks like Jon from voting out the strongest and most deserving contestant.

polarpi 11-14-2003 08:15 PM

Jon's never gonna go!!!! I swear, he must be lathered up with some type of oil, because everytime I think he *may* potentially be voted out, he manages to slide through their fingers.

On another note, I was shocked that Tijuana and Darrah both voted for Ryan....I mean, I realize it's not likely for them to save Ryan, but at least show some support for your old tribemate....Savage probably wouldn't be too happy with them for not "sticking it to the Drakes" :p

Don't know what to hope for next week....Jon to go or someone other than Burton or Rupert to win immunity :)

dzandiloo 11-18-2003 06:50 PM

News for my fellow Survivor enthusiasts: Survivor All-Stars will debut after the Super Bowl...now this should be fun....Rudy & Jerri on the same team....cool.

Can I just say that I am SO excited that they are doing an All-Star Survivor show?!?!?!?!?! :D

....what can I say, I'm a Survivor-addict! ;)

AXO_MOM_3 11-21-2003 12:50 AM

How sad am I that Rupert got voted off tonight?:( I loved him, and felt so sorry for him at the end of the show! Burton is a snake too. I detest Jon even more now.

What?!?!?! I can't believe they voted off Rupert....I set the VCR to record, but didn't realize that the time was still on Daylight Savings time, so I have a whole hour taped of ET and Dharma and Greg! :p

Can anyone give me a summary? I'm going to check the CBS website, but they're so cut and dried you don't always get the picture as to what's going on....:(

Ginger 11-21-2003 11:55 AM

*&%$*$%!!!!!

I loved Rupert! If there was any Survivor that deserved to win, ever, in this show, it was him.

We taped the CBS Morning show this morning, because they always interview the most recent survivor voted off... I can't wait to hear what he has to say.

And F'ing Sandra voting for Jon, what was that about? She would have blown it if Lil had swung back and voted with Ruperts group... because then there would have been 3 for Darrah, 1 for Jon, and still 4 for Rupert instead of tying it up. Somebody should smack her.

I guess I'm rooting for Burton now. I like Christa too, but now that Rupert's gone, she's next.

lauralaylin 11-21-2003 12:02 PM

I'm very upset that Rupert was voted off, but at least we'll see him again in next season's Survivor. Hopefully he'll do better in that one.

vanda 11-21-2003 12:20 PM

Will the devastating news Jon receive next week be enough to send him home? I sure hope so. How is it he hasn't been voted off yet? I want so bad to see that little smirk he has get wiped right off his face. And it annoys me s that he uses wrestling slogans every time he goes to vote.

dzandiloo 11-21-2003 02:42 PM

Burton is only keeping John around b/c he knows that nothing he does can ever seem as low as John's hijinks, so if it gets down to the 2 of them, he is a shoo in. Lil is a fool for trusting them. Sandra is a fool-she did that (voting for John instead of Darrah) on purpose. She wanted Rupert gone, but wasn't stupid enough to vote for him. She is smarter than I think the others realize. I don't want her to win though. What I'm afraid of is that Darrah or Tijuana will fly under the radar and find a way to pull it out. BO-RING.

I am decidedly "meh" about the season now. IMHO, no one who is left deserves to win. I wish Rupert had gone out strong though, instead of "so much for my dreams." Hopefully he can redeem himself on the all-stars.

phikappapsiman 11-22-2003 08:42 PM

Rupert...dude...

One Word-

THERAPY!!!

You were SO pathetic with your "Nobody loves me, I have never fit in, all my dreams are dashed" speech.

It was NOT your divine right to win, no matter how much you felt that it was...

The man has serious issues...

TexasAGD 11-23-2003 12:08 AM

They got rid of ruphert :(

ajuhdg 11-23-2003 07:27 PM

I just saw an ad that it's gonna be on on Wednesday this week instead of Thursday! Just wanted to let everyone know!

UNLADPi 11-26-2003 10:13 PM

People like John make me absolutely sick! How can people be so immoral!?!? I'm so glad he has NO chance of EVER getting a date again!

AXO_MOM_3 11-26-2003 10:36 PM

I can't believe Jon did that! I wonder when the rest of the tribe will learn of his antic? And what about Sandra letting Christa take the fall for the fish. I'm pulling for Christa or Darrah at this point 'cause I think Jon and Sandra are snakes and Lil and Burton should not be there anyway - there were voted off way back and need to go on back home!

AGDee 11-26-2003 10:43 PM

I agree, Jon and Sandra are equally scummy! Burton and Lil don't deserve to be there which does leave Darrah and Christa.. I'm rooting for Christa now. Darrah has been flying under the radar too much.

Dee

ETA: According to interviews with Jeff Probst, the other contestants didn't find out until they watched it tonight on TV, so their voting is already done by the time they found out.

AznSAE 11-27-2003 12:09 AM

You have to admit, Jon is playing the game. He thought about the "grandma passing away" trick way before the season even started. What he did was still very low on his part. You may not like the guy, but with $1 million dollars on the line, people will do just about anything.

MeLikey 11-27-2003 12:56 AM

I haven't really been watching the show, but saw some of tonight's... I was on the verge of tears when everyone was seeing their loved ones, esp. when Jon found out his grandmother died, or so I thought. I really don't like Sandra!

I was hoping that Jeff would somehow drop the bombshell on the tribe at tribal council or something next week....cause a LOT of drama like Jon likes to do, anyways! I agree, Sandra was very nasty for letting Christa take the fall. I'm also rooting for Darrah or Christa to win it all....*keeping my fingers crossed*

Looks interesting for next week...Burton and Lil talking and him not committing to their original agreement to go to the final two together....hmmm (look out for more drama!)

butterfly2001nc 11-27-2003 04:01 PM

i hope that john is the next one to go or sandra...she has a big mouth!

i like burton and darrah so i hope they last long

AXO_MOM_3 12-04-2003 11:06 PM

I was watching tonight, and I don't like ANY of the people left. Christa is gone, so I guess I'll pull for Darrah now. The rest of them don't deserve to win!

AGDee 12-05-2003 12:11 AM

I'm pulling for Darrah now too. Unfortunately, that probably means she'll get booted next week because whoever I'm rooting for seems to get voted out. Then I have to pick a new one. I absolutely don't want one of the Outcasts to win and I'm disgusted with Jon's lie and with what Sandra did to Christa with the fish thing. If those are the final four, I may not bother watching the finale. (Except I'm hooked on this show and will probably watch it anyway, I'll just be mad the whole time!).

I'm hooked, too....at least it'll be worth watching the finale to see the fireworks that start with Jon's grandmother's "death" after the entire cast saw it a few weeks ago....I can't wait to see that! ;) :D

dzandiloo 12-05-2003 12:48 PM

I'm guessing it will be Darrah & Lil in the final 2--and although everyone keeps saying Lil will win b/c everyone likes her, I think Darrah will win b/c she hasn't annoyed the crap out of everyone. She hasn't been naive, she hasn't acted nutty & immature ("you hurt my feelings...I'm going to bed.")....but then, she hasn't done much of anything, has she? She is a classic case of flying under the radar-and I think that sucks. You shouldn't be able to win this game by being lazy for the first 1/2 and then making yourself invisible for the remainder. Ugh.

All I can say is I'm ready for Survivor All Stars b/c I'm fed up with this one. Oh, and John is a bastard, and I hate him for being television gold. Why in hell doesn't anyone question his willingness to "swear on his grandmother" everytime he opens his mouth, if its such a friggin big deal to do such a thing, as he says it is? Is he really stupid enough not to realize that the only reason he is still there is because everyone knows, if he is in the final two, there is no way they can lose against him?

Grrr. Bitter, table for one.

ETA-yeah, the finale fireworks are gonna rock...

AOIIalum 12-05-2003 05:51 PM

Who was booted last night? We had Blue Jackets tickets and I forgot to set the DVR.

Ginger 12-05-2003 06:23 PM

Christa was voted off

AXO_MOM_3 12-12-2003 03:02 AM

I'm so glad these women have finally started working together to get these jerks off! I hope ole Johhny Boy is the next to go!
What was up with Burton at the end - "I hope Lil can live with herself for voting for me...we had an alliance"...HELLO - did he not just vote to get her off? Can he live with himself?

I was doing a chant for Darrah as she was finishing up the immunity challenge, thinking it would help her win :)

I, too, am SO thrilled the women worked together to get rid of Burton, and am hoping that Jon goes next (which I'm sure he will, unless he wins the next immunity challege  )

I was laughing hysterically when they showed Rupert, Christa, and another (I think it was Ryan, but I'm not sure about that one...either T or him) doing the fist slapping to show how excited they were that Burton was out of the game...it was SO funny!

Burton's parting words were just D-U-M-B! He's talking about having an alliance with Lill, but just last week he's saying "I never guaranteed her top two"....even though he said he would never lie to her, too, and we know he's been doing that often.

I was so mad to see him get the car....he didn't deserve it....he just pissed me off about how cocky and arrogant he's been about how him and Jon played the perfect game and how the other three have been riding on their coattails....I hate to argue, but WHO'S won the last three immunity challenges???? Yeah, didn't think it was you, Big Bad Burton

I am so thrilled the finale is on Sunday...can't wait to see who wins and when one of the cast members or Jeff brings up Jon's grandmother :D

AOIIalum 12-12-2003 08:44 AM

I think Darrah is going to win the whole thing in the end, as long as she keeps winning immunity challenges.

Jon is the absolutely most egocentric, obnoxious and generally unlikeable Survivor ever. I don't think he's outwitted OR outplayed, unless his strategy is to be so unlikeable and so pathetic that everyone keeps bringing HIM along to ensure their own wins. Burton wasn't much better last night, and that bit about Lill living with herself for betraying him was just silly. He betrayed her and then some!

So, the girls are just riding coattails? They don't have an original thought in their collective brain? They haven't had one strategy the entire game? Yeah, right, they sure showed the boys last night!

adduncan 12-12-2003 12:29 PM

I hate Jon.

There are very few people in this world that I hate.

Jon is one of them.

I rejoice in the fact that he will never get a date again (we can only hope.....) after proudly flaunting his sliminess on national TV. Anybody who cries wolf about a death in the family - I don't care what the scenario is - is a person who can't be trusted any further than you can throw him.

The look on his face was **priceless** when Burton got punted. He looked like he had something crawling up his leg.

Burton made the number one mistake of both strategy and combat: never EVER underestimate your opponent. Burton ASSumed that the girls couldn't organize an alliance/strategy to withstand his/Jon's BS. Big underestimation there.

Looking forward to the finale on Sunday.

alphabug02 12-12-2003 12:36 PM

YEA! FINALLY the girls pulled it together ... watch out Jon :D

I can't wait for Sunday! Out of all of them Sandra and Darrah are my favs. I have to give props to Sandra coming up with a plan to hide all the supplies, thinking she would be the next to be voted off, the girls got spunk and brains.

Does anyone know if Rupert will defiantly be on the next Survivor?
