teach at the college level, write and publish more, and try to figure out a better curriculum for my high school journalism 1 class.

recentASAalum 09-28-2003 02:00 PM

I would like to be a singer... I've always wanted to do that but never had the guts to follow through with it...

Jadey28 09-28-2003 02:27 PM

I want to be a personal trainer and a nutrionist. I think that would be so much fun.

Like Fox Mulder from the X-Files? That would be soooo cool.

AGDLynn 09-28-2003 10:09 PM

I don't know...give me a year or two of "not working" so I can be sure this is what I want to do!

I'm so jealous of my sis-in-law who doesn't work but can go down to their beach south in northern Fla. whenever she wants!:D

MeLikey 09-29-2003 12:56 AM

Another job I'd love to have (besides the ones I posted, ie. model, NBA cheerleader, and screenwriter) is being a tour manager for a band.

VIOLETGRL24 09-29-2003 10:41 PM

I would like to be a Good Housekeeping tester.

beachgal118 09-29-2003 10:51 PM

How sad is it that I not only have no idea what I want to do for my actual career, but I don't even have any "dream" jobs that I would love to have?

KerriMarie 09-30-2003 01:32 AM

I want Paige Davis' job on Trading Spaces.

Seriously, what does she do? She gets to buy a cute new top for every episode (once she's worn it once, she's not allowed to wear it on-air again - think of all the shopping!), she acts adorably cute and teases people, she gets her own camera, she goes and plays with each room doing fun projects (she always does the crafty ones, not the boring painting...), and she gets to hang out with cool people like Ty and Laurie and Vern day after day.

Also, I think I'd be really good at it.

krazy 10-02-2003 05:20 PM

You're darn right!!

Has anyone ever played TSO (the sims online)? I am thinking of starting up, and I am trying to get some feedback. It is really cheap, like 9 bucks a month. I love those kinds of games... I am sooo broke right now, it is about the only one I can afford anyway. Thanks....

OUlioness01 10-02-2003 05:43 PM

work on international treaties as a diplomat for the US in NATO

eh ive heard its like other online games where you have to invest a bunch of time to get good at it.

i played a MMORPG that charged 10 bucks and you had to put in 5 hours a day to be DECENT...most people spend 10+ hours a day on games like this.

TigerLilly 10-02-2003 07:20 PM

I'd be a writer for National Geographic magazine...it's been my dream job since I was about 10. Getting paid to travel, find out about interesting stories, and write about it -- fun!

_Opi_ 11-12-2003 06:59 PM

When I grow up, I wanna be a(n):

Law Enforcer (FBI or a field agent for another agency)
Writer (Mostly novels/playwright/screen writer)

PhiPsiDCAlpha 11-12-2003 07:05 PM

I am 33 and finally have the job that I want. Although I can't talk about it much. Oh well, that means I will talk about my sex life instead. Nothing to say on that note either.

jonsagara 11-12-2003 07:12 PM

WAS: Tax man. What kind, I don't know. Either CPA or tax attorney. Haven't decided yet.

Damn, how plain & boring compared to the rest of you. :D

NOW: Took some classes and figured out that I don't want to get an MBA or a law degree. I'm now focusing my efforts on passing the actuarial exams (the first two, anyway). If I've learned anything over the past year, it's that nothing is set in stone, but being an actuary seems to be an appropriate mix of science and business that really piques my interest.

I say tax attorney. I know one who is 29 and making about 300K working for a very wealthy family. Granted you're not gonna be the most glorious high roller, but that's pretty stable I think. Can you get your CPA while you're studying to be a tax attorney?

SAEalumnus 11-14-2003 01:02 AM

Ok, I admit it. I'm a closet sci/fi nerd.

I would love to work for NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, or whoever else planning orbits and missions for satellites and spacecraft. I've already got my BS in physics and am going for my MS later. I haven't decided yet on the PhD (although it would likely be in Astrophysics if anything). I'll be able to complete the masters part-time while still working full-time, but I don't see that happening with the doctorate.

Any kind of job that not only allows me to ask, "what if?," but gives me the opportunity to actually do something about it would be ideal.

absolutuscchick 12-01-2003 01:55 AM

Nothing...I want to marry someone who will support me so I can volunteer, be active in KD alumnae association, shop, plan dinner parties, and do interior decorating!!!!

Realistically though, I don't have a clue what I am going to do...

GeekyPenguin 12-01-2003 02:43 AM

So my parents are going to kill me for this because my Econ degree is my worthwhile one, but I really really want to work in DC, either for a Senator or as a lobbyist. Luckily I get to play there next summer so if I don't like it, it's off to finance for me for a few years so I can pay for grad school. :p

If I could make a decent living playing a fiddle in a band (rock) I'd do it...

Musicians don't make much $ though.

I did this for awhile... It usually paid my bar tab and gave me a little pocket $.

AXJules 02-03-2004 02:25 PM

I really want to do entertainment publicity.
More realistically (or maybe I mean earlier in my career) I'm guessing it will be PR for retailers or entertainment companies, then moving towards actual entertainers if I'm lucky.

I also will not quit until one of the print ads I create is published.
