Aaah, that happened to me once during recruitment last year, it was so embarassing! I was talking to this girl, and it was maybe the 6th party on the second day of Icewaters (making her like the 20th girl I had met in two days...) and I had JUST asked her what she had done during the summer, and I asked her again. She just kind of looked at me, and I apoligized for being kind of scatterbrained - I felt so bad! We sort of laughed it off, but I think she cut us - I never saw her again!

Well, I got all 8 invites back, one from a house I didn't expect, but I'm glad I got to give them another chance! Here we go. It's in no real order this time because I can't decide who I like the best :p

Strawberry: This house was really nice. I didn't really feel a connection the first time, and 2 of the three girls I talked to seemed kind of shy, but One of the newer memebers talked to me and another rushee inbetween and was really excited. Her roommate was one of the girls I talked to the first day, and we ran into her again. Their craft was really cute.

Peach: This house is totally growing on me!I had sooo much in common with the first girl I talked to I didn't even get to do any of my craft! It turns out we will be moving into the same apt complex and she made me promise to come visit her. All the girls were so sweet!!

Mango: Oh my gosh, I love these girls!!! We did a really nice craft, but again, we talked so much that I didn't get a lot of it done. One of the girls I talked to the first day came over and sat with us and we got into a great conversation about the Rocky Horror Picture show (I used to be in it) that totally surprised me!!

Grape: Again, so in love with this chapter!! The girls I talked to today were super silly like me and totally in love with the dorky 80's!! All the girls I talked to before said hi to me, and I just felt sooo comfortable there. I really hope I get to go back. I really love their philanthropy, it's very close to my heart.

Plum: It's interesting how a different set of girls can change the way you feel about a chapter. Yesterday I was totally in love with this house. Today, I still really like them, but I'm not as ecstatic as I was before. They were very nice girls, I just didn't feel as connected as I did with the 4 I'd chatted with yesterday.

Pear: This house has amazing women!! All the girls I talked to were super friendly, funny, and the conversation felt so natural. We didn't reaaly do much for he craft (just cut out some felt stuff) but I loved talking to the women, and I got to chat with the girls from yesterday again.

Raspberry: I really liked this house the first time, but I'm not as into it today. The girls were nice, but the conversation didn't really flow, and I didn't feel comfortable there at all.

Blueberry: I can't beleive these girls invited me back! They were nice yesterday, but definitely seemed like the type that would never talk to me outside of rush. The girls that rushed me today (one in particular) seemed definitely more like me, very silly and fun, but again, all the girls seemed kinda the same, and I didn't really feel like I fit in there.

So today we narrow it down to five, and I hope that I get to back to at least Mango, Grape, and Pear. I figure hoping for three is pretty realistic. Tomorrow starts at 7am and I'm wearing a knee length, sleevless, "Jackie O" looking dress. Light blue with dark blue piping and beige wedge sandals. Thanks for your good wishes!!

PS-AXWhoa, I'm sure you guys are pretty crazy (I met some pretty enthusiastic sisters :) ) and I loved that you guys had your risk management chair speak. I hope when this is all over I get the chance to meet more of you, and yourself especially!!

What a great day by the sounds of it!! It's so great that you enjoy being with so many of the chapters...that paves the way for a happy ending. We are all crossing our fingers!

I did not get caught in the rain while at school, but on my way home from work. I was done with the ranking and at work by 5.

oh please oh please give us an update soon or ill be on the computer all day and night!!! i love and hate when rush threads start.....love it cuz of the excitement, hate it for the anticipation grrrrrrrr. anyway i know how it feels to be a potential so i understand if you need a break from the world. its just i visited sigma kappa at the university of arizona not too long ago and i need to see if they were in the running...ok im off my soapbox

Ok, I tried to post all morning yesterday for all of you addicts out there who have been following my story. But technology hates me and GC would not load!! So here is the deal with Sunday (Skit day) and Monday (Pref night):

When I got my schedule back on Sunday, I was a little upset. 2 of my fave's (Grape and Pear had cut me. So I only went back to 3 houses. I had a break in the morning, so another girl in my group and I went to starbucks and cheered each other up. I felt much batter about my remaining choices, though, and really enjoyed the day. I don't remember the order I went to them, so here's the order of how I ranked them:

Mango: This has been one of favorites all week, and today just cemented it! I got to be rushed by the same girl I'd talked to the first day (yay!) and we had a great time. I LOVE their house and their skit was HILARIOUS! I laughed the whole time! I really felt comfortable with the other girls in the house that my rusher introduced me too, and I really feel like we all have the same sense of humor.

Plum: This house is going to make my decision difficult. It turns out one of my best friends has a friend in this house, and I finally got to see her today! We didn't realize we'd met each other until she was giving me and another rushee the tour and I mentioned I knew someone who went to her high school, then it clicked that we'd ALL gone out together last week (it was dark then and I didn't recognize her at the house right away!) so that was really cool. Their skit was also super funny and everyone is sooo friendly!

Strawberry: The girl who gave me and another rushee the tour was a sweetheart, and I really liked talking to the girls right before the skit. It had a really cute theme, and the way they decorated touched my heart.

So, at the end of the day I ranked them all, and then stressed about it all day at school. I kept calling home to see if my Rho Chi's had called me, and kept expecting to see them walk into one of my classes. On a side note, there are a bunch of sisters from 3 chapters in my last class of the day, and after seeing them outside of recruitment, I know that those houses were not for me, and I'm much happier with the cuts that were made.

So first day of classes came and went without incident, so I went to a fellow rushees house to get ready for Pref. I didn't know how many I'd get back, but I was just happy I was going to any at all. We were allowed to go back to 3 chapters, and I got invites back to all 3 houses!! I was so excited! This is the order in which I saw them:



Strawberry: I finally got to meet someone I'd been looking for this whole week. She knows who she is, so I won't name names, but what's funny is that I didn't realize it was her until after she'd left me to do the ceremony, so I didn't get to tell her I made the connection. Their ceremony was very touching, and the testimonials made me teary. I'm so glad I met these girls.

Plum: Oh my goodness, I can't beleive my heart is torn the way it is. After coming back to this house and hearing about how much the girls like me, I didn't know what to do! I talked to a girl who'd rushed me the 2nd day I was there, but she was telling me how a bunch of girls were fighting over who got to do it tonight! They gave each girl a flowere they thouht represented her, and I got a sunflower. This is a total sign, because that is my favorite flower! I have a tatoo of them around my ankle. I cried like a baby at their ceremony. A big sis read a letter to her lil and the lil read one back. The 2 of them rushed me the first day! So now I don't know what to do!!

Mango: I wanted to wait unti after I saw this pref before I made up my mind, and it's a good thing I did. I got to be preffed by the girl who'd been there for me the whole week, and I heard from her the same thing, about "fighting" to get me! I think as soon as I walked into this house, I knew. I could see myself hugging each and every girl here on bid day, and I didn't really see that at the other houses. I cried like a baby at their ceremony!

So, after it was all over, me and a girl from group that had gone with me to every party that night had a huge decision to make. We were both torn over the same houses, her a little more than me. It took forever to get our decisions finalized, but we finally did it. I though it would be great if we got to be sisters, but she went with Plum first and I with Mango. But who knows, we could still end up together.

So that's it, after today you all get to know where I'm going and where I've been. 5:00 can not come fast enough. Thank you so much for your support through this exhausting process, and I can't wait to tell you all everything!!

Now, to both Tina and Sam (before I forget) - thank you both SO MUCH for giving us your insider report on the houses! It's so very refreshing to see that two totally wonderful women like basically the same houses, but prefered different ones. I sincerely hope that, whether y'all end up in the same sorority or not, that you two will remember this experience throughout college! It's very unique, and very special. And the very thought that y'all shared it with us makes us feel pretty special, too!

Oh I am so excited for you! I hope you got the bid that you wanted. And my best friend since the second grade is a member of Mango at your school and she adores it! I am sure whichever house you end up in you will be very happy though. GOOD LUCK! :)
