Yeah, that was pretty bad, too. Robin Williams should stick to being funny, or at least likeable.

Reign of Fire.

The only reason that movie was enjoyable was because I was with a large group of friends and in the opening scene one of them screamed "HEY! I already SAW Harry Potter!" because the child looked like Harry. We laughed about it for the entire run of the movie.

I love Matthew McConaghey but MY GOODNESS that movie sucked.

I loved Royal Tennenbaums - but it is definitely one of those movies you love or hate.

Oh - and I thought Groundhog Day is an awesome movie - why did you hate it so much?

As far as bad movies - Battlefield Earth was one of the worse experiences of my life - John Travolta wasn't thinking on that one.

AKA_Monet 08-20-2003 09:31 PM

Bootleggin'

Oh to be bootleggin'!!!

All except for porno flicks where they have a quota to put out, no one should pay to be torched for 2 hours at the rates movie theaters are charging...

It's just easier to get the bootleg and watch dat chit blurry...

So here is my new rating scale:

Pay the $10's at a stadium seating movie theater during the 1st week--excellent rating

That's a matinee priced movie in a stadium seating theater--great rating

Wait for the $2 show--so-so

Wait for the DVD--not worth the $2 theater price

Wait for the VHS--not worth the DVD rental

Wait for it on HBO

Wait for it on regular channels

Safe for the TV to watch you while you sleep...

Oh, I just saw "Eight Legged Freaks" on HBO... How did they take time to act in that movie?

rainbowbrightCS 08-20-2003 09:50 PM

some one said Emma I liked that but then again I liked the book.

The worse movie ever

Queen of the Damn! Dumb dumb movie.

oh and thoses dumb Air Bud movies, the ones with the dog that plays a sport.

I forgot about this movie. Yeah it sucked a big fat one. Words can't even describe how aweful this movie was.

Also I want to add Swimfan and The Cell. Swimfan was bad and The Cell was aweful. I've never been a j-lo fan so watching her in a movie that didn't have a plot was torture.

Munchkin03 08-20-2003 11:21 PM

I loved Vanilla Sky and The Royal Tenenbaums, but I'm realizing more and more that mainstream audiences don't like movies that require a considerable amount of thought. Same with Traffic, non-linear plots seem to confuse some people.

Any movie with Adam Sandler should not be seen.

Punch Drunk Love, I couldn't agree more. However, I do have to heartily disagree with the person who said Groundhog Day.

Dr. T and the Women

Mr. Wrong

Home Fries

Teaching Mrs. Tingle

Rules of Attraction

Any Given Sunday

Moulin Rouge

Snow Falling On Cedars

Down With Love

Dove Gal 08-20-2003 11:48 PM

I can't believe that someone has not said this...Titanic (I could have spent those 3 hours doing something creative like rearranging my room)

Trois

Dungeons and Dragons

Summer Catch (Freddie Prinze movie)

Summer of Sam

I'll think of more later on.

OUlioness01 08-21-2003 12:58 AM

i loved gangs of New York...but then i understood everything historical that was behind it....and i guess i understand why some people don't like hte Royal Tennenbaums...but i love english humor. i like Emma a lot too...but then i'm hopelessly addicted to Jane Austen anything....anyway, here's

my list:
all of the Home Alone Movies
all of the Land Before time movies minus the original
Going Overboard
A Christmas Story (preparing to be flamed)
any Mary-Kate and Ashley movie
Silent Movie (love Mel Brooks, hate this movie)

I can't believe there are people out there who didn't like The Royal Tenenbaums.

Add another vote for NOT seeing Punch Drunk Love (scarily enough, I went to see it with a CHURCH group!)

Worst movie I have ever seen: What about Bob? (most movies I refuse to walk out on because I don't want to lose the money I paid for it, but this one I left within 30 minutes of it starting!)

gphiangel624 08-21-2003 02:48 AM

My list:

- 28 Days Later (wanted to beat the hell out of the guy who made me see this with him... had nightmares because of the gore for weeks, but thought the storyline was ridiculously stupid)

- The Cable Guy (love Jim Carrey and I usually love black comedy, but this was a huge waste of time and money)

- Bean (sat in the lobby with my best friend while we waited for our friends to finish watching this crap)

- Sweet November (most horrible love story and what the hell were they thinking casting Keanu Reeves for anything but an idiot's role?!)

- Swimfan (why I thought this would be good, I have no clue)

- Halloween H20 and every other post Halloween 1 sequel

- Idle Hands (hate Devon Sawa in everything but Slackers)

- Down with Love (another moronic Freddy Prinze, Jr. love fiasco)

- Cruel Intentions (can't stand Sarah Michelle Gellar)

I'm not going to flame you, but I just had to say that CS is an awesome movie! "You'll shoot your eye out!"

I think it's up there with Mel Brooks films and Monty Python stuff...either you love it or hate it.

(I just happen to love them!) LOL

PULP FICTION!!!!!!

You take that back right now!

That movie is a CLASSIC :D

lovelyivy84 08-21-2003 06:31 AM

I thought that Vanilla Sky was a waste of time. THe original film in Spanish, Abre Los Ojos, was much better.

Anyway, onto my list:

The Rainmaker (I actually fell asleep IN THE THEATRE during this terrible flick starring Matt Damon and Danny Devito. My girl dragged me to see it.

Clockwork Orange- this movie made me want to wash my retinas with steel wool.

Joe Dirt- forced, I tell you, forced to watch this movie. Oh well, at least I didn't pay.

One Hour Photo- again breaking out the steel wool.

you're right!! It is CLASSIC MIERDA!!!!

I saw that in college for $1 and I am still OWED MONEY!!!

I just remembered another movie. . . . **preparing for all sorts of ISHT**

AUSTIN POWERS!! I only saw the first one for 99 CENTS!! It sucked 2 fats and a long.

DWAlphaGam 08-21-2003 09:27 AM

Just saw 2 listed that I definitely agree with: Titanic and Eyes Wide Shut.

I borrowed Titanic on video from a friend just to see what the hype was all about. For whatever reason, my VCR decided that it also hated the movie, and it would not show the picture most of the time, which actually did not bother me at all. For about 3/4 of the movie, I listened to it while cleaning my room and I don't think I missed much.

Eyes Wide Shut is one of the few movies I've actually shut off in the middle of it and refused to watch the rest. I was watching it with a whole bunch of people, and about when it got to the weirdo mask orgy scene, the guys I was with decided that porn has more plot, and they turned it off and put in a porn movie. The porn they were watching actually did have more plot than Eyes Wide Shut.

I also want to know how bad Gigli really was. Must've been terrible, since they pulled it out of the theaters already. (I think From Justin to Kelly actually beat its run! :p)

Dayum, you are right. I just checked the Charlotte theaters and that movie is DUST IN THE WIND!!

Umm Justin 2 Kelly will be available for rental on August 26.

DeltaSigStan 08-21-2003 09:41 AM

I seriously think that the execs at movie studios just sit there, get drunk or sniff glue or something, and when someone blurts out the first script idea that pops in their head, they decide to go with it no matter what it is.

I can see it now......

"I know! You know how we made a shitload of money off Sideshow Bob and Mariah Scary? Well, why don't we make a movie where they fall in love or something?"

"That's.........the BEST idea I've heard since Waterworld!"

"Well, how bout a guy who, for some reason, a lot of girls find attractive, in a movie with a completey recycled and senseless plot, and all he does is do unrealistic mindless stunts with all those cool explosions and stuff, and we'll make sure he gets the girl?"

"AWESOME! It worked for Steven Seagal!"

"Sure. Nancy, please notify Mr. Diesel. Tell him he has work again."

"You know who'd be perfect as director? Steven Soderbergh! Just cause he made a great movie like Ocean's Eleven doesn't mean he can't be his normal self.....remember Full Frontal?"

"Guys, you're blowing my mind with all this....let's get to work."

Vin Diesel.....haven't seen charisma like that since Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller.

The people who didn't like Trois - what was the problem? Too much sex or not enough?

Oh, and we can't forget the Cruise Crap Combo: Cocktail and Days of Thunder. We watched the latter at the old PSK house, on New Year's Day, with brother Flounder. Actually, Days of Flounder would have been a more interesting movie than Days of Thunder.

Dove Gal 08-21-2003 11:59 AM

The story line in Trois was so horrible. It wasn't the sex, it was just waste of my time and their money.

you see, this thread's the problem. People's tastes are different, the abstract movies are really hit and miss with the mainstream audience. I loved the movie Roger Dodger, but most ppl that i've mentioned it too said they've never heard of it.

p.s. Whoever said Traffic is bad...hey i'd like to see you make a better movie.
