Yay! I'm so happy you ended up being able to attend parties! I know it's really stressful, and you have so many other things to think about and worry about - but remember, hopefully soon you will have sisters to share your troubles with! It's said that having sisters doubles the fun and divides the troubles! So belive that! I love my DG sisters and they truly are my anchors when I am in need...so enjoy recruitment and keep us up to date! I can't wait to hear the rest!!

As the newest addict to the club, Moxie, your story has motivated me to actually go through the hassle of logging in and becoming an official greek chatter!
I am so excited you were able to get to some parties today. My college roommate and I took a road trip to LSU one spring break to stay with her HS friend and our Kappa sister at the KKG house (which was GORGEOUS---coming from a greek dorm, we were definitely impressed!) We went out with a group of Kappas and Tri-delts and had a blast. It's always good to keep in mind that no matter what GLO you join, you will undoubtedly have friends in several if not all the sororities! I can't wait to hear the rest of your rush thread---good luck! |

i decided to go back and not list the groups by their names...sorry if it confuses people, but i guess it was a good suggestion. they're letters now...i couldn't think of anything cuter, since i am only talking about 6 groups. if anybody has ideas for cute little code names, let me know!
i find out where i get invited back to tomorrow morning. i'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best! |

You just might get invited back to some of the ones you missed, especially if Greek Life explains your situation, so make sure you have enough categories to cover all the GLOs!

i decided to do ice cream names, since my sister just brought me some german chocolate cake ice cream. yum! i deserve it after today =) i am also going to add some more details to my earlier post, so if you want you can go back and read some more.

Some of my best friends were in GLOs at LSU. I love LSU and I have some friends still there that are active in a GLO, they are way younger than me. Anyway, have fun!

Do we know which of the sororities Moxie was able to go to? It sounded like she named them put I guess she changed the post before I could read it. I'm so glad she was able to rush! Yeah!

i just got back from seeing my invitations. i'm somewhat disappointed, but at the same time i understand that the system can be "blah" and i try not to take it personally.
out of the 6 parties i attended yesterday, i only got invited back to ONE. the one i got invited back to was COFFEE. i did, however, get an invite to one of the groups i DIDN'T get to see at all. we shall call them...PECAN PRALINE. i'm pretty upset that i didn't get to see more of VANILLA or especially STRAWBERRY. i thought i really hit it off with the latter, and it was definitely my favorite house of yesterday =( yes, i'm upset - but i'll be ok. oh well...i'm glad that i at least get to continue. i asked that both of my parties get scheduled for tomorrow, so i won't have more to update until then. i do have a meeting with my gamma chi group tonight, but i guess that's mostly just to pick up my schedule. i haven't gotten the chance to know her very well, so maybe i will try to talk to her about things later. :::sigh::: all is not lost. once i saw my invites, i thought about withdrawing...but i think i'll give it one more shot. the disappointment just eats at you sometimes, especially since i went in with a bit of confidence. thanks to all of you for the support! sorry i don't have more to report :/ |
you keep going! someone very wise said that it doesnt matter how many you get invited back to, cause you can only join one!

Congrats on your invites, Moxie! I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed. :( You said that you really liked Coffee, and I'm very glad that you get to go back there! And who knows? Pecan Praline might end up being the house for you! Plus, LSU sounds like a tough rush, and you are hanging in there. Good luck!! :D

I think I might have an inkling as to who coffee is.. and if it's what I'm thinking.. go with it!! I've heard SUCH great things about them and they really impressed me too. Who knows! We might just be sisters on saturday!! |

oh, i also wanted to add that in my extreme RUSH to get ready for RUSH, i forgot to take out my nose stud. remember my infamous "nose piercing" post? heh...by the time i realized it, it was too late(i have to put in a clear, seemingly invisible "retainer" when the jewelry isn't in) and i wore it PROUDLY.
i think i should have gotten more invitations to second round simply because i amazingly took a shower, blew my mass of hair mostly dry, got dressed and primped a bit, and sped back to campus in under 45 minutes =) it was a feat. my gamma chi was like, "wow! you look great! didn't i see you in a ponytail, jeans and flip-flops an hour ago?" ;) |

i got my schedule for tomorrow and i have my two parties back to back. first i'm off to COFFEE at 1 pm and PECAN PRALINE at 2 pm. i told my gamma chi that i had thought about withdrawing, and she definitely encouraged me to stick it through until we get to next invites and see how i feel then...so, we shall see.
