Awww you guys are the sweetest!!! I spent allll afternoon at a doctor's office to learn I have strep throat, ah! Trying to eat dinner, and take my shower and get ready by 5:15, ahhhh!!

Don't breathe on anyone and make them sick;)

So guess who is back and had a WONDERFUL time besides feeling sick in the throat?!?!?! MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

I saw TWO lovely sororities tonight and could see myself in both and knew so many girls and was not nervous AT all.

When the girls asked me what year are you and I said "junior" of course they were really excited about it and that made me feel sooooooo good! AND then at the first party two girls were like "you're so cute!"

Sooo, had a WONDERFUL night again tonight!!!

The first party which I used to love during recruitment past years I felt soooo out of place and unloved but the next party, great great great party and left with smiles but made SUCH a faux pas! I got semi-nervous after the group sang a lot and I was at a loss of words because I thought we'd be leaving and so I grabbed down at my wrist to look at my watch which wasn't there and I was like "ah my watch...oh not that i'd look at it but i feel so naked without it" and she was like me too i can't wear mine either so that made me feel better but i was like man grrr way to ruin it! Last party I went to I was SO surprised. I used to think they were great but not for me but after seeing them, I thought wow I really like them a lot!

So, tonight I go to bed and receive a call tomorrow morning around 9ish to say you have an envelope or not and take it from there. I sure hope I receive the 4 for the parties I enjoyed but if not, I've been "non-greek" so long I'll be fine without it but it'd be great too though. I've promised my mom and myself no tears just a positive attitude like "everything happens for a reason" and just getting over this strep is gratitude enough!

Whew, still very excited for tomorrow!! I have SUCH a cute, classy little outfit planned and sure hope I get to wear it proudly!!!

Oh, and one last thing, I love you all!!! Such sweet comments make me smile!!!!

TBASG - I've said this before, and I'll say it until I'm blue in the face: if the sororities have to use release numbers, you could have easily been right on the border. That means, if the sororities you love don't make quota, you would be the very first person they'd contact for either a snapbid or COB!

Please don't get discouraged! This board is just full of wonderful ladies who didn't get their first choice, but ended up in a home they love! We're here for you, each & every one of us - just give a hollar, and keep us in the loop!

Please take a look (or second look) at the local and service sororities, as they appear to be a real force at Truman. NPC is not the be all and end all of sisterhood, as many women on this site can attest.

I agree 110%. If you want to be Greek, then you can still make it happen! Look into things like service, local, or professional sororities like mine (SAI). Or what about something like Beta Sigma Phi? And of course COBs. :)

Either way, I'm so sorry Rush didn't work out, but keep your options open. You can still be Greek!

And even if you DON'T end up greek, we all love ya. :) :) :)

Honey, I'm so sorry. :( Nothing makes me sadder than to hear news like this.

But people have made some good points! There is COB! I know some people who would not be very good in a Formal Recruitment environment and are much better in a COB environment. Many of my good friends joined through COB, it does not make anyone any less of a sister!

I'm so sorry to hear about your rush situation...No matter what you decide to do from COB, AI, or joining a service organization, I wish you all the best! You sound like an awesome person and I know that you would be an amazing asset to any organization.

I'm so sorry to hear that the phone call was bad news....everyone else who have already posted have given you so much good advice and support. We're all here to support you in whatever you do....wrap your arms around yourself (it's a hug coming from me!) :)
