I'm so tired. I'm ready to go to bed, but I gotta hit up the mall at one point tonight.
Anyways, today went great. I felt confident about each chapter. I'm going to have a hard time narrowing it down.
Thanks so much for all the support! Today and tomorrow are the hardest days, so I'll need as much as I can get.
And, FYI, I really clicked with a chapter, but who knows what tomorrow will bring!

well run the the mall, do what you need to do then get some sleep. If you have a lung infections tomorow morning is going to be rough. Get some nyquil (the tablets) and get some rest girl. I know what I am talking about I have chronic bronchitis, go to bed or it will get worse.

Monday 18th- #1-10 Parties 9am-7pm. 20 minutes at each.
Tuesday 19th- parties #11-19 10am-7:20pm. 20 mins each
Wednesday 20th- 10am: Preliminary Pref. Parties 1-5: 5pm-935pm. 35 mins each.
Thursday 21st- Parties #6-10. 9am-1:35pm
Friday Aug 22- 8:30am Prelim Pref. Parties #1-6: 3:30pm-10pm. 40 mins each.
Saturday 23rd- Preferentials. 10am Final Pref. Parties #1-3: 5:30pm-9:20pm. Ranking Session 9:20.
Sunday 24th- Bid Day. 5pm-New member Induction Ceremony. 6pm Pick Up Invites.

Thanks! I'm glad I'm from a small greek campus after looking at that ! I cannot imagine doing that many parties as a pnm or sister! Major respect for all you UF girls!

Just an FYI about UF even though there are 19 1st round parties you only go to 16 actual houses the other three are lounges, which they have to do because there are soooo many girls going through rush each year....supposedly there is a smaller amount this year...normally around 1300s this year only around 1150-1200

today went well!!

I visited Chi O, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Chi Omega, A D Pi, Tri Delt, Zeta, A O Pi, DG, and Phi Mu.

I really like DZ, Zeta, A D Pi, Tri Delt, DG, A O Pi, D Phi E, and Theta, but its so hard to remember the houses #1, and #2, to base your opinion of the house on one girl or two girls you spoke with.

We'll see what happens at 10am tomorrow!

This morning was rough because I was so drained, but I was still really extroverted and bubbly. Also, I saw hopefulgreek!! I don't think she would know who I am, but I saw her and it was... funny to know her from the forum.

ok... I got my Round 2 invites back, and I'm a little sad. I had a really good feeling about Alpha Omicron Pi and DZ, and I didn't get invites to either. I also got invites to some chapters I'm not really at all interested in. I'm bummed because I only got 8 invites out of 16 chapters.

8 out of 16 at UF is absolutely NOTHING to scoff at! You have several really strong houses on that list.

Don't be bummed, keep an open mind, don't rule out the houses that you say you're not all that interested in. You've only been through one round, where you only got to talk to a couple people, and were also really overwhelmed with everything going on.

How well can you know the houses after only one round?????? Unless you're also basing your opinions on "tent talk" (which from knowing people at UF there seems to be a lot of).

Have a good attitude- chipper up! If you're bummed or not thrilled, that's going to shine through. Not only will you have a better time with a positive attitude, but you'll make a great impression on the houses.

I'm not an expert on the subject or anything, but from what I've heard about UF sororities, there are some VERY strong chapters on your list. I was dead set on one chapter going into rush that ended up cutting me after first round, and I still ended up very happy where I went. No matter what, you'll end up where you belong.

you have some very very strong choices still remaining. turn on the charm and have some fun with it. it's far from over.

BTW- the chapters that you're going back to- some of them are some of the best chapters of their sorority in the country and have won multiple awards as such.

You should be thrilled about your invites! :) You have a great group of chapters to choose from. I know that the ZTA chapter is one of the top chapters at UF. Smile! And have tons of fun!

I'm sorry you're feeling disappointed :( Like the others said though, 8 out of 16 at such a competitive school is good and these are some top chapters. Good luck and I hope you find where you feel at home!

Since I used to go to UF I can say this.....:D ZTA, KD and ADPi are very selective....you should feel really good about being invited back to those houses....I mean very good....also they are among the strongest chapters on campus. Rush gets better as you go along at UF the first two days are the worst. GOOD LUCK!!! And a word to the wise for UF dress up a little more than they tell you...if they are telling you to wear shorts, sneakers, and tshirts for first and second dont listen to them....wear capri pants, a skirt or a sundress instead

remember that although it is a good idea to judge on first impressions, it is not the best. take a step back and remember why some of the chapters didn't make a great impression on you. maybe it was because you got a bad rusher, or a rusher that was really shy. take this next round to look at each house a little deeper. you will meet more and more women and may change your mind about a few of the houses. my house was #6 or 7 out of 10 on my list after welcome day but it had moved into #1 after the second round. you can't always find your home in one day. wishing you the best of luck!

Thanks a lot for your encouraging words of wisdom. You've made me feel a lot better, especially since there's 10 parties and I only got invited back to 8. I'm going to wear a sundress later today. I feel good about AD Pi and Zeta, and I know that after looking at the other houses again, others will come out of the woodwork for me.

Today went great! I love Round 2 so much since you get a great chance to get personal with the chapters. I visited KD, which I ADORED, Kappa Kappa Gamma, another fabulous chapter, Alpha Chi Omega, incredibly comfortable girls, and Sigma Kappa, where I felt so welcome!

I feel so much better after the start of this round. I really felt like I was given an oppertunity to make an impression on the chapters.
