I guess its good when you dont know whats going to happen, but I dont know where the show is going. It seems that the chino kid cant stay out of trouble.
|
i watched the encore on friday
the show is totally over-rated the acting is horrible except for a couple of people other than that, i don't think i like the way it's going especially last week episode with the fire i mean, how many guys do you know would turn themselves in (i'm talking about the over zealous, over jealous boyfriend) if anything, they wouldn't admit to anything they'd dropped him off at the corner and said, 'glad you're alive' and in the first place, no one would keep fighting if they say soemthing on fire especially like the candles that were strategically placed near gasoline or paint thinner or lamp oil(what was that?) |
The show is SOOOO unrealistic...I don't really know why I keep watching it at all. It's not that it's like the best show ever or anything, and it is definitely predictable. Next week (ok tomorrow's) episode looks like a very predictable one. The thing I hate is that I think I could tell you exactly what is going to happen over the next few episodes and end up being completely right. Which is sad. Come on writers....throw in some twists and SPICE IT UP...do something daring and unpredictable...I'm WAITING!!!

Did anyone watch tonight? I saw some of it... I officially have a new crush... on Seth... he's dorky but he's a cute dork.

Marissa and Ryan though is a sure thing. She's being a typical attention wanting girl by hooking back up with Luke. In the end like any other over done story, Marissa will realize that Luke isn't that all great and will jump Ryan's balls. Besides O.C. I've been watching All My Children recently. I never thought I'd be interested in these shows. |
Although I think all the teenage drama is overplayed and obvious, I'm still enjoying the family side of this show. I love the fact that Seth and Ryan get along (however, I am hoping that Seth isn't going to get jealous if Ryan starts spending more time with Seth's mom, working construction for her company...does anyone else see this coming?).
I know everyone is comparing this show to 90210 but I think the only connection is the California location and the attitude. I think it's more like a Dawson's Creek, without the intelligence, and with 90% more sexual energy and intrigue. |

Yes I actually watched it and they were pretty good. After all I do need some other shows to occupy my time now that they ended a whole bunch I used to watch. =P I just hope the producers will find a great way to develop the story line. Is the guy who plays Ryan a new face or has he been around?
|
In the reviews I've read about The O.C., they say Ryan's a newcomer.
|
I like it okay...but like everyone says, it just seems way too stereotypical. I mean, does every party involve half naked girls snorting coke? And when Marissa was rattling off the punk bands she likes...it was so forced and unbelievable. But maybe that's just me. I don't feel like it's an accurate representation of anything.
But I love the music...I about died when they played "Hallelujah." |

Whoever said they liked the music, at the end of this week's episode they played a gorgeous Smashing Pumpkins song... gotta love Billy Corgan! I definitely am into this show... as one of my sorority sisters said, "I covet the OC":D |
I watched it, and its entertaining in a mindless, predictable way. I have given it much more thought than I should.
Lets make some more predictions, shall we? I see conflict between Seth & Ryan re. the Pittsburgh girl (Anna?). She teaches Seth how to be a man (e.g. not such a wuss), Summer starts to like him (in a cat who likes to play with the mouse before she devours it kind of way), Anna develops real feelings for Seth but bottles it up (because, of course, she's been hurt before...)...Entire season of Summer being a beeyatch to Seth & him just taking it, then realizing he misses Anna...meanwhile, Ryan tries to avoid Marissa, spends time with Anna...she has a bad girl past, they bond & fool around for convenience sake, Marissa thinks they are in love so she doesn't pursue Ryan.... Miscommunication abounds, the right people don't end up with the right people, etc., etc. I have a question about the burning house ep...why, oh why did they feel the need to give Luke a heart & have him fall on the knife & admit his part in the "incident?" I would have liked it much better if he had denied it & one of his buddies rolled over on him so he would still be considered a total jackarse. Just a rambling observation. He is still a jackarse, but not as total and complete as a real Prime Time Soap Villain should be. How long until he starts to hit Marissa, I wonder? What must his father have done to make him the way he is??? So-another point of speculation...does Marissa's dad commit suicide or what? Yes, her mother is completely annoying. SIDENOTE: I really should not be watching this show, because I am bitter that Fox promoted the hell out of this show & shows it 3 times a week to get the viewership up, and they wouldn't do a fraction of that for the highly original & entertaining Keen Eddie, (admit it-no one here watched it b/c none of you knew anything about it) which I am sad to say has been canceled, in favor of "Stupid Behavior Caught on Tape, Part 75." . Fox is the Devil.    |
why do they show it 3 times a week
it's not like it's a syndicate show it's like they already know it's going to fail because they are running out of shows I say to hell with the O.C. Bring Melrose back!!! |
Did someone say Orange County?
|
It's probably because they are trying to make the OC like Easy View Sundays that the WB provides. And the promotion of the show too. I wonder if the OC is just a summer thing or going to be part of the regular fall lineup.
And yeah Marissa's mom is a total beeyatch. I really wonder how Jimmy ever ended up with her and not with Kirsten. And they they're neighbors no less! Writers have such a way of creating conflict on shows but those are what brings along the ratings. |

seth and marissa are supposedly cousins???? |

Kirsten is from Newport, a wealthy family. Marissa's mom is from Riverside, another 909 city, and not from money. Whoever asked if Ryan was new or has been around. This is his first show. I think he's about 19 or so. Am not totally sure on that. A friend knows him. |
I was highly amused by these lines:
Ryan: "What if things don't work out...?" Sandy: "What are you going to do? Steal a car? Burn down a house? Very funny! :D |
I kept on cracking up when Seth would say to his parents, "If this is about the carpet...." or "If this is about the vase..." LOL

I so definitely pulled the same thing in HS a few times! |
Ok girls who saw the O.C. on Tuesday.....Do you know when the next encore is?? This was the first week I missed because I had to go to the pharmacy :( And I want to see it still!!!

I've had enough of the "trouble that follows Ryan" stories, but otherwise I thought this was a decent episode. Ryan and Marissa were cute and I love poor, clueless Seth.
*** Lines of the Night: Seth: "From now on, we've got to stick together...because united we're unstopable, but divided..." Ryan: "...people get shot." Seth: "Right." |

damn you greekchat.com O.C. fans
i hate this show but i lied to my professor and told him 'on tuesdays, i have to leave class like 15 minutes early because my night shift starts at 9 PM' he believed it and he lets me leave early so i can watch the O.C. aahhhhhh!!! and i like seth as well my favorite lines were 'wow, she really is a dancer' and 'good luck with the condo' oh, and the best one 'how's it going, abercrombie? or is it fitch?' (i don't like the whole kirsten being so close to jimmy) |
Did anyone else notice that in last night's ep, Ryan had more lines in the first 2 minutes than he has had in all the other episodes combined??? Seemed like it anyway.
Seth rocks. "They're our parents, they work for US" |
this is silly of me but why do we memorize lines from this show
i didn't see myself addicted in fact, i thought this show was dumb and going nowhere although, i can't stand the girls who are no bigger than a toothpick what the hell happened to the token ethnic couple? no high school is complete without at least one black dude on the football or basktball team and one smart asian stereotype but i did notice that the corona boys had a latino and in the restaurant scene, there was a black girl sitting with a white guy haaaaa, that was me |
I love Seth, he is hilarious, and such a cutie. I would want him anyday over the dorkito Luke.

Wicked would be seth's mom and marrisa's dad having an affair 17 years ago... siblings instead of cousins!
|
Haha, that would be so funny if they were siblings! Ever since The O.C. has aired, I've now seen the actress who plays Seth's mom on 2 different shows/movies on TV.
|
Did anyone else think tonight's episode sucked?!? Argh...total disappointment.
I thought Seth was going to have a cute moment with Summer, and then she morphed back into her snooty self. However, I did enjoy this line: "Yeah right, mom can't even cook cereal." :) Also, after scenes, it said that next week's episode is the last of the summer. What the heck does that mean? I can't believe they'd stop running the show when it's just picking up a core audience. |
I watched it however I didnt hear the part about the last one of the summer... it better not be though Im really getting into this show lol :) Im so dissapointed that she slept with Luke grrrr I dont know i just dont like that kid for some reason....anyways thats my take on this episode I guess.

Ok so tonights episode was so so. I wanted to cry when Marissa's mom said she was going to get a divorce from Jimmy, even though we knew it was coming.
Luke is definately a tool. Still. I hope next weeks episode isn't the last one for awhile....but I am scared that it is! Next weeks looks so good but it also looks like the kind of episode that is going to make me angry. I am in love with both Ryan and Seth, such cuties!!! |
