I really don't buy it so it's not very exciting. I always joke that the girls from our local hid all their ritual stuff up in the attic and then sealed it off so we'd never know. We usually try and break in during Inspiration Week, so I'm sure eventually we'll get up there! |
SAE
SAE at the University of Missouri use to be a civil war hospital. It is an amazingly beautiful house but is supposedly really haunted. The basement use to be a crematorium. Legend has it a man named Bill was burned alive, they now call him Bloody Bill and he haunts the house as well as other countless civil war soldier ghosts. There are countless crazy stories from this house; lets just say few people want to enter the room that was formerly the crematorium. I don’t know if I believe it but their philanthropy is a haunted house in their house and backyard and it definitely adds to the fun!

Older sisters claimed to have seen a ghost... a girl... she showed up in 2 of the bedrooms and in the snack room in the basement. I don't think there's a story behind her... but I avoided living in those 2 rooms when I lived in the house and late at night when I was in the basement by myself, I'd get freaked out by my own imagination of what *could* happen.

I am kinda interested in ghosts and I have heard a lot of really useful tips about ghosts that may help some of you or at least be useful bits of knowledge.
1. Ghosts can't really hurt you. They can mess with a lot of your stuff, do some pretty freaky stuff, but when it comes to actually causing harm, they can't really do it. And even the stories you hear about them hitting people etc.... it takes A LOT of energy for them to do that and is very very rare and it's usually something that isn't a "ghost". Don't worry, more than likely they are just letting you know they are there. If you don't mind that they are there, just do like some other ppl on here have said and say "hi" or whatever to let them know you know they're around. Usually they are pretty lonely (you think about living eternity alone in one place; you'd wanna make a racket too!) or are looking to send a msg of some kind, sometimes that they need to send to"cross over". If they aren't so nice, you can be firm with them and it usually works to make them stop pestering you. You can be like "Look, my sisters/brothers and I live here now and we are ok with you being here, but you have to stop busting open our doors at night/banging things/moving stuff etc... and we'd like you to stop" or if you want them to go, you can ask them to leave. This is much harder to do, but just keep telling them that this is your house now and they need to move on and "go to the light"(sound familiar, Carol-Anne???). They'll usually eventually listen, but things might happen right after b/c they are kinda annoyed that you are telling them to go. Ghosts like to play tricks a lot and move things, thats why the ring got misplaced for 3 weeks. If that happens and you suspect its a ghost just ask for it back, it'll usually come back within a day; sometimes within minutes. Ghosts are usually pretty easy to live with once you kinda understand that they are part of the house and might not be able to leave and you are gonna be stuck with them for a while and that it's your house and sometimes you have to be firm with them. A good way to get a pic of them btw. TV's frequently capture pics of ghosts. With the TV turned off, take a pic of it. You can ask the ghost to show itself in the TV too, sometimes they will do that but sometimes they are shy too so you may get good footage by going quickly. Also, if you have a "hot spot" for activity, put up a video camera for a few days, you might see them on there too. A really good website to check out ghost pics is ghoststudy.com There are some seriously freaky pics and stories on there. Oh and for those of you that are using Ouija boards to contact your spirits, BURN THEM!!! They are bad bad bad bad stuff. Black magic AND remember that when you open a door like that, you don't know who is coming in or out. Be careful everyone and I hope this helps ya get along with the spooks of your house! Oh and for the ASA girl, you guys should do an initiation just for her; it may put her soul to rest, or at least she'll be a much happier ghost-pledge :D |
I agree wholeheartedly with nearly everything KateyAlphaGam said.
EXCEPT: I would never ever ever talk to it. Because even if you think the ghost is good, there really isn't a way to tell. And there's nothing stopping a formerly "good' ghost from gettin pissed off and wanting to be mean. [edited to add:] telling it to leave is ok, just like she said above. be firm, but not forceful because while you think the ghost is intruding on your space, the ghost thinks YOU are. Otherwise, yeah. The really are just lonely. I have several in my house. My mom and I make it a game to try to figure out who they are. We've done it successfully twice and as soon as we figured the first one out, he left. He just wanted to be remembered! The second we can't get to leave because it's a cat and obviously cats don't understand English. |
haunted house
our house was built for us in 1929- and our house mother from 1932 or so to 1965 died in 1981- and apparently Mother B haunts our house- a lot of times if you are upstairs by yourselfon the 2nd- 3rd floor and if there are boys in there with you- some creepy stuff happens- my great grandma said that she was up there messing around with this guy- and pictures started flying off the walls- another time- we were having a small party in our basement and one of my sisters went to go to the bathroom on the 1st floor- and she passed through the first set of double doors- but kicked one of our composites that was on the floor by accident (we're redoing our house) and as she was walking into the bathroom- the library doors that are directly across from her slammed shut and then when she was in there- they did it again- she came down all freaked out- we treid to hold somne seances but i don't know how successful they are- i try not to screw around with it anymore atleast...... our alumni are up at the hosue this summer and a lot of them have said that lights would get turned off in the middle of the night by themselves- and that stuff like carpets would get rolled up by themselves when nobody else was in the house- idk weird-

And the thing about the Ouija board...the boards themselves are not dangerous. They are just pieces of wood or plastic or whatever they happen to be made of. Ouija boards only become dangerous when people get careless in using them as a medium to reach spirits. Normally, the boards can be used safely IF you are careful...that means no asking to spirits to show themselves, no inviting spirits to "give a sign" as to whether they're there, and always moving the planchette to "Goodbye" when you are finished using the board. Supposedly, not doing so can allow the spirit to stick around. |
well, I meant more in the context of carrying on a conversation with it. Like, I don't think saying "Hi" every once in a while to let the spirit know that you remember it is necessarily a bad thing, but I'm talking about like.. asking it do things.
And on the subject of Ouija boards, I've heard that you should keep the board and the eye separate? |
You heard that from me sweetie! LOL I still don't understand how they work! LOL
|
I have heard about keeping them seperate, but also, sometimes I know they have decided for themselves how they want to be kept. My cousin had one and she had all the pieces together and in the box. Put it under her bed, never moved it for a few years and then one day when she was moving she opened it and the planchette was gone! Nobody else even knew she had one or where she kept it!
If you want to use a medium board like an Ouija, I have what is called Psychic Circle. It's like an Ouija Board but much more in depth, it has a lot of different spots on the board including planet signs etc... I feel much better using it. Along with it comes a book with chants you are supposed to say before you use it so that you are inviting goodness into the circle and also asking for protection. It also suggests (which is a good idea whenever you are doing something like this) to place white candles around the board as a circle of white light and protection. You can't garuntee it's not going to bring in some mischief, but if you are careful and really aware of what you are doing and how to best use it, you should be ok. I've used mine a lot and I've never had any problems. Also, when ending I've always been told to not only say goodbye but also Amen 3 times and flip the board and tap it. Thats not in the book and I dunno if thats an old wives tale, but thats what I've heard and I do it now. |
Donna Story
Ok, so I learned the whole Donna story. Donna was a pledge in 1971. On her way to initiation, she crashed into a tree and died. So, she hangs around, waiting to be initiated.
