Rocket, you are da bomb! I wouldn't have guessed all those, either - I would have guessed A Chi O was way up there, but not ZTA . DZ and Chi O are some of the largest so I guess I shouldn't be surprised there.
I'm sure someone has done the research, but not necessarily for this purpose. Baird's lists who is at what school, although the latest edition isn't very recent, and I'm pretty sure NPC would track what chapters are where simply through Panhellenic Councils. It would just be a matter of boring numbers. |
Whoa, I'm impressed!!!!
This give me an idea how to kill time at my internship.....hmmm.... |

GREAT JOB, ROCKETAXID!!!!!! |
We only have one of the Farmville Four (ZTA :D) but we do have AFandGFB. We also have AXD to push rocketaxid's research :)

DZ, Chi O and Zeta are the three largest NPC groups (or were very recently) -- if Zeta isn't still in the top three, it is right up there! |
Oh, I know ZTA is big, but I just personally hadn't heard many sisters mention that they also have ZTA on their campus.
|
I've noticed that a lot of campuses that have Tri Delta have DG.
|
I am suprised that nobody mentioned that where you find AEPhi you often find SDT.
|
We have an Alpha Xi Delta, AEPhi and of course an SDT

Yeah, ZTA is still in the top 3 for the largest.

At my school we have:
Alpha Chi Omega Alpha Gamma Delta Alpha Omicron Pi Chi Omega Delta Delta Delta Delta Gamma Gamma Phi Beta Kappa Kappa Gamma Kappa Alpha Theta Phi Mu Pi Beta Phi Zeta Tau Alpha So I guess this coincides with the whole Kappa/Theta/Pi Phi/Tri Delt thing. I've seen a lot of ZTA chapters where there are also Chi-O chapters. |
I feel like Emory has a very odd mix of sororities. We used to have 10 sororities...Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Kappa Delta, Alpha Chi Omega, and Phi Mu left at different times. Now we have:
Alpha Delta Pi Alpha Epsilon Phi Delta Delta Delta Delta Phi Epsilon Kappa Alpha Theta Kappa Kappa Gamma Sigma Delta Tau I've noticed the SDT/AEPhi connection...also SDT/AEPhi/DPhiE. |
I know this is a little off topic, but is there a sorority/frat connection that anyone has realized? I know in the CUNY system it seems that SDT/AEPi are together at two schools (Brooklyn and St

We have a ZBT also!

i guess it depends on the ethnic make-up of your school. if you have a school with a large jewish population its most like going to have chapters of the historically jewish glo's: aephi, sdt, dphie aepi, zbt, sammy

I knew that AEPhi, AEPi and SDT had a Jewish connection, didn't realize that ZBT and Sammy also did (we have both of them along with the other three) |

Thats funny, I never knew that DPhiE was a jewish sorority! We used to have them on campus but now we only have AEPhi. AEPi lost their charter a few years back because they had no jewish men in the chapter.

D Phi E is NOT a Jewish sorority. On some campuses, they have a large Jewish sisterhood, but on most campuses, it's all mixed. So don't worry PiKA, you weren't out of the loop ;)

That is really impressive! Nice job :) |
Okay... I only did a serach for Pi Phi/Kappa/Theta
Kappa overlaps with Pi Phi on 71% of our campuses Theta overlaps with Pi Phi on 62% of our campuses And together all three are on 55% of our campuses! |
FAUNikki-the Theta that people are talking about is Kappa Alpha Theta...FAU doesn't have that!

Question- I heard that at one point there were some mergers in NPC, like two orgs became one, and in some cases two or three orgs would team up for expansion purposes.
Like if XYZ was gonna to State U then they would set up and bring ABC as soon as expansion could happen again. I don't know if this is true, but if it is, it does make sense why some orgs tend to be in the same places. |
