I think that AEPi at USC also had thongs made (for some event)...but I'm not completely positive....

LOL....the "what size thong" thing cracked me up!! Seriously I think that the whole idea is sooo inappropriate....thongs for an event, kind of just screams sex.

AAgammagirl 07-03-2003 06:23 PM

all i can say is, boys would just love to steal those thongs!! can you imagine- frat boys raiding your house for panties?
it would turn any sorority's rep pretty bad, pretty quick!!

**note to self, tell Pitt chapter to stay away from the lettered skivvies**

AAgammagirl, don't you know that ALL sorority girls run around in their lingerie and have pillow fights?

HAHAHAHA...i love it!!!! You know what's so funny though....some guys ACTUALLY believe that this is the truth....I guess it is a myth that somehow just keeps getting perpetuated!! But it sure is hilarious!

steelepike 07-03-2003 09:44 PM

Don't use that propaganda with me, you can't make me beleive that it doesn't happen.

adpishan 07-03-2003 11:19 PM

It's funny how the threads come up a few days before you see them in person...

I was in the store by my school where they sell all of our greek stuff and the owner comes out and says to me and my sister, "Look at what we are going to carry!" I almost hit the floor when he showed us a black pair of string bikini underwear with the sororities names embrodered on them. I actually had to turn my back I was laughing so hard.... :D :D :D

Sad thing is, I bet they will sell fast....

Rudey 07-04-2003 01:22 AM

Well at a sorority formal this year they gave out boxers with their letters on them (no flap either...talk about annoying). At one of our events all our guys are in boxers with our letters too.

--Now what people wear privately is their own business I'd think.

Zephyr 07-04-2003 02:08 AM

I love my letters, and I have thongs.

But I just dont' know that I want my letters up my ass.

fire1977 07-04-2003 02:22 PM

Zephyr, lol

You always have a way of putting things so eloquently.

CatStarESP4 07-04-2003 02:37 PM

Now I have heard everything!

As an SDT sister, yes, I know how BAD that would look....but it happens. There are many comapnies that will customize anything with letters, and some of them do include thongs...I know I dont need letters up my @$$...even if they didn't look like....well...you know!

SigEp_Stud 07-09-2003 02:32 AM

if i saw you wearing letters on your thong i would think that's the sexiest thong i've ever seen....if you have a matching stunning body, of course

archangel689 07-09-2003 03:37 AM

With thongs quickly becoming (being?) the norm... I have to agree with SigEp_Stud...

Wear them! ;-)

decadence 07-09-2003 01:28 PM

Sure is :)
Check the first page of this thread, about 7 posts down.

Betarulz! 07-09-2003 01:46 PM

So how long will it be before we see thongs that say "Beta Theta Pi Sweetheart" or the like?

I think that would be a real popular buy for a lot of guys to get for their girlfriends...talk about marking you territory;)

archangel689 07-09-2003 03:39 PM

"Nothin looks trashier, blah blah blah" lol.

It's times like these that I must remember that girls wear this stuff for themselves, not for guys... :-(

They're called UNDERwear for a reason. Nothing looks trashier, IMO

You want to buy me one? ;) I could actually see that being more popular - certain sororities at my old school tried to "mark" fraternities as theirs - now they can just show it on their trashy underwear hanging out of their pants. ;)

I still think thongs and g-string underwear are a waste of cloth.

It's better to go commando, anyway. :p

You know, in the days of ancient hula, women didn't wear anything under the grass skirt. They often danced topless also. I can't remember when they started wearing the coconut bra!

CutiePie2000 07-09-2003 05:58 PM

Mini hijack......

I think I did know that actually, because I actually paid attention on my visit to the Polynesian Cultural Centre! :) That place is pretty informative. They gave us a spiel on hula, muu-muu and ukulele (and how to pronounce it: oo-koo-le-le, not Yooka-lay-lee....LMAO)

The dude from the Samoan Village at PCC, "Sielu" is a riot. So funny.....apparently he does comedy shows on the side in Waikiki as well.

Thinking of Hawaii makes me hungry for Taro Chips....YUM.

(PS I just thought the hula dancer gif was kind of cute.....)

[Hijacked again]

Oh it's totally cute! If John let us use avatars I would so use it!

I think it was the missionaries that told the Hawaiian women that they had to start wearing undergarments. Boo.

Yup, I think that's where the more modest muu-muu came from. These missionaries showed up and saw all these bare breasted women running around and were appalled.

Seriously, have you ever worn a coconut bra? It's uncomfortable and itchy! Good thing they come in different sizes.

CutiePie2000 07-09-2003 07:06 PM

No, I haven't but I can imagine. Coconuts are even itchy just to hold in your hands, let alone having them on your boo-boos.

I KNOW that they will be bought up quickly. My roommate (an undergrad KD) thought they were cute.

But how much more inappropriate can you be?

If I met a girl who wore her sorority letters on her thong, that would turn me on all the more. You can bet she would not be taking that thong home with her. That would have to be a trophy to show my friends, along with a picture of her wearing it the night before.

lol...I'm sure many guys feel this exact way...

Honestly, having letters on a thong definitely is not a positive thing for this exact reason. Imagine what kind of image a chapter would get from something like this!!! Definitely not a positive image!

OMG...who knew Sielu had such a strong following? That's awesome! I haven't been to PCC for a long time, but I do remember Sielu from the last time.

I was cleaning out the closet last night and I found some old Tahitian and hula paraphenalia from when I was a kid. I tried the bra on. It didn't fit. :(

I love the PCC. It's a bit of traipse to get there, but it is awesome. I think it's very educational and extremely well done.

Sielu is hilarious. I kind of stumbled onto his demonstration at the Samoan Village by accident and my Mom and I were in stiches. The guy is so funny! When I saw him in Hawaii, it was 1993 and I STILL remember him (OTW: I also visited UH-Manoa [still have my sweatshirt from the bookstore ;) ] and I remember that AGD was just starting out there. I remember feeling excited because I knew about AGD at UBC. (Went back to Hawaii in 1995, but did not go to the PCC...maybe it's time again!)

If I am back on Hawaii, you KNOW that I will be contacting you! :D

Unregistered- 07-10-2003 06:31 PM

Next time you come to Hawaii, maybe the UH-Manoa bookstore will have some Warrior thongs for us to buy!

CutiePie2000 07-10-2003 06:59 PM

Woo hoo! Can we get them embroidered with our names on them, too? LOL

Lettered thongs on ebay

I have to agree that lettered thongs are the height of tacky. Ugh.

I happened to be searching around on ebay after reading this thread and to my immense dismay discovered some wacko person selling KKG thongs on ebay.

What is this world coming to?

archangel689 07-11-2003 11:28 PM

k, theres a problem, this thread has strayed from its true subject and hasnt been sticky-ed yet.

Mostly I think people just thought it was weird that our bookstore would be selling thongs at all, Greek letters or not. Who wants to buy a thong in the school bookstore at a tiny college where a million people would see you?

haha... I just found this thread...

I was so shocked when they started stocking the thongs at the bookstore last spring (twinstars graduated from my college). The thing was, they got the Kappa, KD, Theta, and Chi-O letters right... but on the thongs for my GLO they had "FBF" embroidered. Leave it to the W&L bookstore.

Although I think it was still better than the time another sorority sent us a notecard addressed to "the sisters of BQP"
