If it were something to worry about, they wouldn't have you wait until the 10th! So, try really hard not to worry and I'll be sending you LOTS of happy and positive thoughts!

Hugs,
Christin

All my best for you both in health and happiness.

I'll second his sentiments. He is free to join any fraternity, as long as it is Lambda Chi! ;)

Enjoy - we never did want to find out if any of our three children were boy or girl - we wanted to wait until delivery. My wife's family couldn't stand that!

Our third was the biggest surprise - two boys already, five generations up my father's side have been nothing but boys...and out comes the biggest surprise of my life - a girl.

Whoever said grown men don't cry, was dead wrong.

Update #3!

Well I had my 3rd ultrasound on Saturday and we were able to see the goods LOL!
I am having a baby.............................................. ............

GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited. I didn't really have a preference but I'm glad my first child is to be a daughter!
The technician was great. She had Mr. ZTAMiami in there with me the whole time and explained everything she was looking at. We saw her kidneys, bladder, stomach and the 4 chambers of the heart (which is what they couldn't see last time) The baby was doing somesaults and kicking and punching like crazy, putting her hands on her head and opening her mouth really wide to swallow! It's incredible because I barely feel her throughout the day. I'm almost like ...nah, it can't be!:D
We have picked out a name.......Rebecca Elise. Rebecca because I think its such a classic, simple and beautiful name and Elise after Mr ZTAMiami's late mother (her name was Elisa). My mother also passed away when I was 15 and I would love to honor her name as well but I don't think Bertha is a nice little girls name:(
So, no Abuelita's for Rebecca. It's really disappointing but she will have aunts and uncles on both sides and plenty of cousins!

My belly is growing by the second and I have to suck it up and wear maternity clothes now LOL. I can't pull it off by unbottoning my pants and wearing long shirts anymore! Due date is still September 22nd and I can't wait:D :D :D

More soon,
ZTAMiami

update # 4

Ok, I went to my OBGYN yesterday and first thing he tells me is not to worry but that I have to repeat my ultrasound in 4 weeks. Apparently the technician was unable to see the septum? or the separation of 2 of the hearts chambers. He says it was probably due to fetal position. So of course I'm worrying. I also have been having short periods of time when I'll just be sitting at my desk or at home doing nothing really and my heart starts racing for no apparent reason. So my doctor tells me to monitor this and let him know how often it happens and that he may refer me to a cardiologist. I also have my endocrinologist appointment today to find out if my thyroid is out of wack or not. My anxiety level is throught the roof. I'm trying some quiet meditation to try to relax.
Sorry for the rant.
Good news is that I'm feeling Rebecca move a lot more each day. Its such a nice feeling. Too bad Mr ZTAMiami can't feel her yet. I have also graduated to maternity clothes and I bought size 9 shoes when I'm normally an 8! Not too mention that my boobs are enormous and they look like they are about to start "functioning" LOL! My sister (biological) sent me a pair of pink crib shoes. I cried when I opened the package LOL :)
And a friend of mine bought me 2 adorable little dresses. I feel like Sept. is creeping up real quick and I have to get moving on my registry!
Thanks for all the happy thoughts and enthusiasm. It feels good to have support from GC!:D

Munchkin03 05-20-2003 12:52 PM

Everything will be okay! Just think positive thoughts...September will be here before you know it?

One thing that is possibly cooler than feeling the baby move is seeing her move. I remember when my sister was pregnant, we could watch the baby move...her stomach looked like a waterbed! I think it creeped her out a little, but I thought it was cool.

ZTAMiami 07-03-2003 02:24 PM

Update #5

Everything is going well. My last ultrasound was perfectly normal, Thank God! I had my blood glucose test (all preg women are checked for gestational diabetes) and that came back normal!
I am now 7 months pregnant and I am BIG! Its almost like I woke up one day and I was out there LOL. Rebecca kicks up a storm, especially at night, and you can see my belly move! I can't make out hands or a butt, but you can see the movement. Its awesome. I think everyone should get pregnant.------ok just kidding! She also gets the hiccups pretty often (also normal)
I am coping with some stress (mostly financial) but I'm trying to take it easy. I have to remind myself to cool it because everything I do can affect her. I even stopped reqding the "when something goes wrong" threads on the pregnancy boards so I can stop freaking myself out.
I've been doing my research on pediatricians and I plan on meeting with a couple soon. I've also done research on immunizations. Its all very interesting and a little frightening. I have no idea how my parents raised us so well without speaking the language. Its a wonder how my sisters and I made it through childhood ok, LOL!
I'm almost done with my registry and my biological sisters are taking care of the shower stuff. Its all a secret so I have no idea when it is. There is also a ZTA shower in the works which I am ever grateful for. My sisters are amazing!
So thats my news. I'll post more soon.

ZTAMiami:D :D :D

Rebecca is such a pretty name. :) Enjoy the next couple of months.

AXO_MOM_3 07-06-2003 11:34 PM

Congratulation! What a beautiful name! Take some time out the next few months just for you! Since my first little darling came along, there have been few quiet moments! NOT to say that is a bad thing, lol! My girls must just all be serious chatterboxes! I've enjoyed reading your thread - it is almost like a rush thread! Oh boy, what's it going to be? Oh boy, is everything okay? Oh boy, what kind of showers (parties) is she going to have? Oh boy, what kinds of party favors will she bring home? Oh boy, when is it going to get here? ETC...Oh well - enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

TigerGirl52 07-06-2003 11:49 PM

Wow!!! I just found this thread. Congratulations on your great news!!!! I was in Babies 'R' Us today looking for gifts for my boss. She's due just a month before you. I love pregnant women. I just think they're all adorable. Have a great time with your pregnancy. Here's wishing you a happy and healthy and beautiful baby girl!!! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting aside on Ancient Chinese Birth Chart: it is wrong for me and my three sisters. Kind of wild. It is correct for so many others.

LOL, no strawberry nursery for Rebecca! I have chosen this crib set http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...#more-pictures

I wish I had seen something with a strawberry theme though. I have seen a Hello Kitty comforter set with strawberries in it, but its for a twin bed. I have had to restrain myself from buying every strawberry themed outfit I see!
Thanks for the support and excitement. I'll add more later!

ZTAMiami:D

your going to be a GREAT mom!!! :D

ZTAMiami 09-17-2003 05:48 PM

waiting.......

This will probably be my last post for awhile as I have some pending issues to take care of....lol!
I am 391/2 weeks along and my due date is on Monday. My doctor seems to think i can hold out til at least then and I'm ok with that. I've been 1cm dilated for the past 2 weeks but overall I've been feeling really well. I have been having cramping and pressure really low down but its all going normally. I started my leave 3 weeks ago at my docs recomendation. I was having really bad swelling and I had to go in for lots of testing to determine if it was preeclamsia (preg related high blood pressure which is very serious) Thankfully everything was ok and the baby is doing beautifully! Even with all the difficulties and worries that have come along, I feel that i can't complain and I've had a very good pregnancy. I can see why people keep doing this, lol, and I hope to God I have another shot at this one day. The feeling I get when i feel Rebecca move around in my belly in indescribable! I love to go in and sit in my glider in her room and think about what life is going to be like. I'm at a very sentimental state right now. I kind of want to stay pregnant because I know she's safe and sound inside me, but I also can't wait for whats to come. I never would have imagined it would be like this a year ago. There really is no feeling like it and I don't mean to sound so cheesy. I keep imagiining who she'll look like and how our first moment together will be and I'm giddy! I can't wait!
As for my birth preparations....my bags are packed and ready to go. Mr ZTAMiami and I dropped out of Lamaze. I really didn't find it useful, boo. I plan on having a natural birth which means I want to be completely unmedicated. You may think thats crazy but I've done my research and this is what I've decided. My doc intructed me not to step foot in the hosptial until my contractions are 3 min apart and at least 45 seconds long. This way I can ensure as little medical intervention as possible.
Anyway, if you care to, please keep us in your prayers/thoughts/mediations/moment of silence(whatever is pc) We'd really appreciate it!
My next post should bear all the wonderful details of childbirth and maybe a pic of the little princess!
ZTAMiami:D

Tom Earp 09-17-2003 05:53 PM

Does this mean you had sex and with and soon to really be with child?????

See, that is what happens when you get drunk and play, oh baby oh! :D

May he be a boy and be just like me and be a LXA!;)

ZTAMich 09-17-2003 07:46 PM

I love the crib set! So pretty.

Best of luck to you, MrZTAMiami and the little princess too!
