I always wanted to be a veterinarian, and even went pre-vet in college. But then I decided it wasn't for me. My life totally didn't turn out the way I expected, because I'm doing something now I actually remember saying I would NEVER do when I was a kid!

But the average person changes careers several times, right? I'm hoping to get a job at the National Zoo :)

i wanted to be a doctor from the time i was 6 yro. i changed my speciality several times...pediatrician, vet, and neurologist. freshmen year in college, i decided that i didn't want to be a doctor. i didn't know what i was going to do, but i switched to psych and senior year, i decided to be a teacher. i plan on getting my phd, so i guess that dr thing will come true!

Hope I don't get flamed for this, because it was just a little kid speaking, and it was cute at the time. In 2nd grade, the teachers all ask what you want to be when you grow up.. Of course all the little boys want to be cops and firefighters and astronauts...And all the little girls want to be nurses and princesses and mommies. My teacher got to me and it went like this:

Mrs. Straight (yes, real name): Amy, what do you want to be when you grow up?

Me (Head held high): I want to be black.

Mrs. Straight: No, no honey, I mean what do you want to DO when you grow up??

Me (getting irritated): I want to BE black!!! :mad:


That crotchety old woman CALLED MY PARENTS :mad: to 'let them know the things I was saying in school'... :mad: I never did like her...

When I got a little older and realized I couldn't make any money just 'being' someone, I decided being a vet or a doctor would be in order.

I always wanted to be a teacher, and at the end of april I get my degree/teaching certificate.

LOL not offensive at all. It was cute.

My family still laughs at me for what I wanted to be when I grew up-----
a PROSTITUTE!!!!
I would always ask if we could go for a drive to see those pretty women on the street. I sure knew how to make my mom proud.

As a child I also always wanted tattoos--I was fascinated by anyone with tats--would just stare~~could never get enough of them. I am still taken with tattoos-- no matter who they are on--I just want to look. I did follow through on that childhood dream--I have 8~~and will be getting more!!!
