CutiePie2000 03-31-2003 01:14 PM

I saw DREAMCATCHER and boy was it a STINKER!! :-(

dzandiloo 03-31-2003 01:50 PM

Had to watch Philadelphia for a class. Still makes me cry.

ladybug1116 03-31-2003 02:37 PM

Finally saw Chicago this weekend. I thought it was good..thought it would be even better live on a stage. The 2 people I was with hated it.

Tried to watch "She's the One" on DVD with my roommate but I wasn't in the right frame of mind. Is that one worth popping back into the DVD player?

shopgirl 04-02-2003 10:26 AM

I watched BASIC on Sunday.
Loved it.
I highly suggest it.:)

Jaggergirl 04-02-2003 06:17 PM

awesome! I'm glad other people liked Basic too. I thought it was super intense. Did you have any clue about the ending? I was TOTALLY clueless. And like 3 times in the movie I thought I had it all figured out. Nope.

Ah well.

SilverTurtle 04-02-2003 08:43 PM

I have to agree- Basic was great. GO SEE IT! :D

Jaggergirl 04-07-2003 10:17 AM

So did anyone check out Phone Booth this weekend? What did you think? This is the first weekend in forever that didn't have a comedy as #1.

This weekend I rented Brown Sugar which was really cute. I'd recommend it. I didn't realize how much music was going to influence the story but I think it was fun. Of course, I'll see just about anything with Taye Diggs. Plus it had Sanaa Lathan in it, from Love and Basketball and I think she's a strong actress.

Two and a half weeks til Identity. Whoo hoo!

White_Chocolate 04-07-2003 10:20 AM

i saw Basic last night
it's great
i was so into it
my friend, jason was like, 'hey, i just ate this whole thing of gummy bears and you didn't ask for them'

Gina1201 04-07-2003 11:11 AM

I saw A Man Apart with Vin Diesel and Larenz Tate. It was alright to me.

Bamboozled 04-07-2003 12:24 PM

Basically, a great movie....

I saw Basic too. I loved it! We went to see Phone Booth, but it was sold out, so Basic was the only choice. I had no desire to see it, but I am so glad I did. I would recommend it as well.

valkyrie 04-07-2003 12:25 PM

We rented Monster's Ball and watched it last night. I'm not sure if I really liked it or not, but good lord was it depressing.

I saw PHONE BOOTH. It was okay...a 6.5/10.

AXJules 04-07-2003 12:35 PM

I actually thought Dreamcatcher was worth seeing (saw it Saturday). It drove me crazy that there were like 9 different plots and the ending kinda blew, but I'd recommend seeing it once to get sufficiently creeped out.

ladybug1116 04-07-2003 01:52 PM

Went to the movies Saturday night and decided to (finally) see Old School. My boyfriend and I debated on seeing Basic but we had read so many BAD critical reviews we decided against it...now I kind of wish we had seen it though. Thought Old School was funny...actually better than I thought it would be!

bucutie02 04-07-2003 11:54 PM

I watched Phone Booth this weekend. I thought it was good, not okay not awesome, but just good.

The movie is only 80 minutes long anyway

Jaggergirl 04-14-2003 10:46 AM

The Boyfriend and I rented "Not Another Teen Movie" this weekend, neither of us had ever seen it. It was alright. Not nearly as funny as people made it out to be. I think Jaime Pressley was really good as the cheerleader girl. Actually, my favorite part of the whole thing was that the Jennifer Love Hewitt character was actually being played by Lacey Chabert - that little girl from Party of Five! That cracked me up.

Anger Management did really well this weekend but I get the feeling this might be a good one for the $1 theatres... or maybe a matinee. As it stands I'm still pumped for Identity and I've cleared that Friday for my friends and I to go see this one and let it freak us out.

Peaches-n-Cream 04-14-2003 01:14 PM

I saw Panic Room. I like that house. A house like that on the West Side would cost millions of dollars.

shopgirl 04-20-2003 09:34 PM

I just saw Dreamcatcher.

It STUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LeslieAGD 04-20-2003 09:47 PM

I saw The Four Feathers and Maid In Manhattan. I didn't really like either one.

Munchkin03 04-20-2003 09:54 PM

Waking Life. I fell asleep during it. One would think that being an academic, I would like movies entrenched in lofty theory. No. Not even the funky Photoshopping saved this movie from my snarky comments.

annice22 04-20-2003 10:05 PM

I saw bullet proof monk and it was really good. I love the action scenes.

Jaggergirl 04-21-2003 09:55 AM

Saw Holes this weekend and it was really cute! Way better than I had expected.

We also rented Panic Room which is rad. I loved it - what a great script. And what's up with Jared Leto being dying in every movie he's in these days? Poor, poor Jordan Catalano.

I am really pumped to see Identity this weekend. This is going to be a good movie. And John Cusack? Yeah, I can definitely go for some John Cusack this weekend.

tnxbutterfly 04-21-2003 10:37 AM

I brought Drumline and it was really good. Major props to those who were in marching band

I rented this movie over the weekend and really liked it!

CutiePie2000 04-21-2003 11:43 AM

Must See!!

I saw Bend it Like Beckham and it is TERRIFIC!

Kevin 04-21-2003 11:48 AM

Took a study break for "Road to Perdition".

Okay movie.

xok85xo 04-21-2003 12:11 PM

went and "saw" a mighty wind..i was exhausted and slept through about 95% of it..everyone else in the theater seemed to enjoy it tho

also saw phonebooth..i liked it, but it wasn't nearly as intense as i thought it would be..and colin farrell's NY accent was the worst i've ever heard.

THANK YOU! I was telling my girl that same thing after the movie. She was like "He is Irish!" I said so let him play an Irish New Yorker or something! That happens!

I can't wait for Identity either!

OMG the bf and I were laughing at this during the WHOLE movie yesterday. People were telling us to shut up and we're like, HE'S CHANGING ACCENTS!!! How are you not hearing this????

ladybug1116 04-21-2003 02:08 PM

In the past week I rented My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Maid in Manhatten, Drumline, and Road to Perdition. Had seen "Raod..." before and loved it. Really enjoyed Drumline and My Big Fat....
Didn't care too much for Maid in Manhatten.

moe.ron 04-21-2003 04:24 PM

Saw the Core, mindless fun.

KSigkid 04-22-2003 08:15 AM

Finally saw "Chicago." Thought it was really good, Richard Gere deserved a nomination, and Catherine Zeta-Jones deserved her Oscar. Just a good movie all-round.

I really can't wait to see the new Christopher Guest movie ("The Mighty Wind" I think). I loved "Best in Show," and this one looks just as good - these movies have the best ensemble cast going these days, if you like good comedy, definitely go see it.

AOX81 04-22-2003 08:26 AM

I finally saw 8 Mile.

like i said, i sort of saw it this weekend..i fell asleep for about 95% of it..but my guy loved it,and everyone else in the theater was cracking up..so i'd say its living up to expectations

Jaggergirl 04-22-2003 01:22 PM

Holy crap! Coming Soon has given Identity a 10/10 rating. Thats awfully rare.

okay is anyone else being bombarded with these borderline porno pop up ads for The Real World Cancun?

I agree. Brilliant movie. Eventhough it should've been Bend it Like Henry. Blah to Beckham.

ThetaLove 04-22-2003 08:44 PM

I saw A Man Apart with Vin Diesel. Let me just say that Vin was the best part of it for me. It was definately a guys movie though.

Schmeer 04-25-2003 09:55 AM

I rented Ghost Ship this week...I have to say, while it was not a spectacular film it was entertaining, however, Julianna Margulies, whom I normally think a good actress- was flat out terrible. Made me sad

Anyway...this weekend I HAVE to see Identity - I love Cusack and mysteries so this looks right up my alley- i will come back later and say what I think!

DWAlphaGam 04-25-2003 10:10 AM

LMAO at everyone making fun of Colin Farrell's accent in Phone Booth...I saw it last Saturday and I spent 1/2 the movie trying to figure out what accent he was trying to do. I cracked up at the part where he was talking about being from Brooklyn...riiiiight. BTW, am I the only woman who does not find him attractive? His eyebrows freak me out.

I really want to see Identity but I think I'm going to have to wait a few weeks. No one ruin it for me!
