PINWHEEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how the heck could i have forgotten that?!?:D

nauadpi 03-04-2003 01:10 PM

I think everyone multiple times over has listed shows that i loved on Nick...bought the only recent show I like there is Invader Zim which they are not making any new episodes for... sigh...anyways though...for all those people who said they loved Clarissa, if you get a chanel on cable called "The N" they play reruns of Clarissa Explains It All...I know I can sit down and watch them and still tell you everything that will happen in an episode..

xok85xo 03-04-2003 01:40 PM

okay, there was another show on nick and for the life of me i can't remember the name of it..or really the premise of the show but i loved it back then..it was kind of like a take on the mickey mouse club/variety show idea i think..it had 3 teenagers as the hosts..all i really remember is that the band wuz not wuz came on and performed walk the dinosaur(does anyone remember that song lol) anyway..does anyone have any clue what i'm talking about? i'm gonna have to do some research.

ZTAMiami 03-04-2003 02:17 PM

Ok, I'm a little older than most of you but I used to LOVE:

Pinwheel
You Can't Do That On Television
The Little Prince
David the Gnome
The Little Koala one
and there was this cartoon about a boy named Sebastian who had a really big dog......anyone know what I'm talking about?

juniorgrrl 03-05-2003 01:17 AM

The show about the dog was Belle and Sebastian.

I somehow remember that the other hosts of "Don't Just Sit There" were girls - Ally and Wendy. They went to Washington once, and there was a song about "Ally and Wendy went to Washington..."

Yesterday I was watching Jenny Jones (I know, I know) and she had a "world premiere" of some really bad singer. And one of her background dancers was one of the girls from Roundhouse...wierd...

Speaking of Pinwheel (which I thought has a very annoying theme song), anyone remember Simon (another annoying theme song show)?.

Well, hello, my name is Simon and I like to drawings...

1) I remember PInwheel's theme song, but forgot if it was a cartoon or not, and what it was about

2) You mean Mike Myer's Simon skit on SNL where he was always in a bathtub showing his drawings?

smiley21 03-05-2003 07:46 PM

remember the game simon?

I can't remember really remember too much from Pinwheel except everytime I would hear the theme song, I would change the channel.

I think Mike Myers based his skit on the show to which I was referring. I think it was originally british because he said drawings weird..

Maybe my mind just made it up? :)

Pinwheel was Nickelodeon's version of Sesame Street

It was REALLY cheap and REALLY annoying but it was still my FAVORITE show :)
I can still remember specific episodes too...like the one where the mime lady was blowing a bubble for the contest in the newspaper and they snapped a polariod of her miming "blowing the bubble" in the gum...they threw the pic down on a desk as the show ended and the camera stayed on it as it developed and when it was clear enough to see... there was actually a REAL bubble blown out of her mouth...

check out this site for more stuff on Pinwheel... :)

I remember the pin wheel episode where they wanted to get that green thing with long nose that lived in the basement to come up to the kitchen and he wouldn't and he had a seashell and he was like "i can hear the beach" and then he had a pot and he was like "i wonder if i put this up to ear If i can hear the kitchen" so he tried.

My name is simon and i like to do drawing is from pinwheel.

I totally forgot my favorite show. I forget the name but it was people who worked in a dept. store and at night the manakin would come alive and they would have adventures.

Whenever life gets you so down
You know you can go down
To where the music and the fun never ends
As long as the music keeps playing
You know what I'm saying
I know that I can find a friend...

Down at the Roundhouse!

Fifteen was soooo funny. The kids were so dramatic! And so underhanded--what was her name? Brooke? Blair? Something like that....

I also LOVED "My Brother and Me". :D

juniorgrrl 03-06-2003 01:59 AM

Brooke was the isht stirrer on Fifteen. I hated that show for some reason. Poor Ashley and her detention! She's so messed up! I loved Brooke's Canadian accent, though - "I'm sore-ry guys..." lol...

I was seriously obsessed with Roundhouse. I knew all the songs, had most of them on tape...it was kinda scary. I'm mad that they never made a cast recording - I heard that the deal fell through... :(

Do you ever remember that episode of Today's Special where (and I have NO idea how I remember this), Jeff and another guy got shrunk down to like mini size, and they were stuck in a top hat? They used marshmellows to climb out....

Damn, I love having a great memory.

AGDPrincess70 03-07-2003 11:54 AM

oh my god, I was so obsessed with Roundhouse! I had a crush on like half the guys on that show. I also tried to learn all the dances. I, too, taped every single episode. On Beta, no less.

I also loved:

Salute your shorts
the Koala show
Mysterious Cities of Gold (anyone remember that one?)
Double Dare
Clarissa Explains it all

ugh...I HATED Pinwheel! I found an episode of it at the end of a beta tape (I have every single cartoon from my childhood on beta...and it still works. It's outstanding) and remembered why I hated it. The entire show was like some sort of weird acid trip!! GAAAH! It's so creepy!

ksig600 03-07-2003 01:04 PM

I loved Salute Your Shorts....
AND PINWHEEL WAS THE SH*T
(I can still remember the theme song)

Also, "My Brother and Me" was cool, "Welcome Freshman", and the older seasons of "All That"

As I got older, I started watching "Nick News W5", and thought the stories were interesting

DeltaSigStan 03-07-2003 01:13 PM

Ok, does ANYONE remember Kids Court? It was a show EARLY on Sunday Morning that was like the People's COurt, but the audience decided the verdict. The kid who won got this huge Gavel at the end.

Yeah, it was called Kid's Court.

I would LOVE to have a tape or two of Pinwheel (on VHS :p ) That show was so much a part of my early childhood that I'd love to see it again. I started watching it when I was like, 13 months old.

For some reason, I always thought My Brother and Me was lame - but I watched it anyway.

Hey Dude - that show was so awesome. I can't watch anything w/Christine Taylor and not think "Melody!"

I also have serious issues with All That - it was a cheap knockoff of Roundhouse (the best show ever) and Nick basically abandoned one for the other. :(

I agree with all of that. All That was blah at best with me. After the first cast left it wasn't anything that funny.

Hey Dude was great. I'd love to live on a Dude Ranch for a Summer.
