Maybe some of you have seen the car insurance commercial (I believe it's Geico) where the squires are intentially causing car accidents - that's what I feel like when I see titles like the one on this thread. And it's not the only time that it's happened - it's just that this one was in exceptionally bad taste in my opinion and appeared to be an attempt to pit one fraternity against another - ON A NATIONAL LEVEL.

Eh, well, from your post it sure came across like you were knocking Hoosier and I know I'm not the only one that got that message.

When you put an emphasis on "VERY rare" I consider that to mean basically "never." It shouldn't have to matter if he posts an opinion or not, this isn't "OpinionGreekchat.com."

Lastly, I never made any reference to you being a "newbie." I don't really have an interest in the duration of time you've been lurking on gc.

I don't really have an opinion on the istuation at hand I figure thats between the two groups. But I wanted to say something on behalf of Lambda Chi... The men from that fraternity that I know and attend school with are some of the most Godly men i have ever met and I am proud to call them my friends! I just don't want anyone to think that since one chapter messed up that the whole fraternity should be judged by that one incident!

Hey Ryan Jacobson is a national officer, and he has to uphold rules and regulations. How bad would it look if a national officer ignores regulations in front of the local chapter. There goes the HQ credibility when it tries to enforce regulations.

As far as hoosier's post, i never had a problem with the content, however, the subject line is something else.

I guess I may as well throw in my opinions here:

1)a $5k fine is rediculous. I don't know how the IFC works out there, but I've never seen a chapter fined for breaking rules. Other sanctions were given, and that was enough.

c)i agree that it could have, and probably should have been handled differently than the tattle-tale mentality, but they were in a public place (even if it was a private party, it was at a hotel) and were damn lucky they didn't get in "real" trouble, say with the local fuzz.

OK hoosier, maybe "slam" (duh duh duh, let the boys be boys) wasn't the right word, I didn't realize you were moonlighting as Mr. Language Person. I consider intimating that all Lambda Chis hate all Sig Eps a great insult to Lambda Chi Alpha. It makes them look pouty and vindictive - which is definitely not the case, at least the ones I've encountered here.
