OK SHowstopper, I almost choked on my soda. You know a guy like that? Crazy! I didn't know it was a hit because I didn't consider watching it at the movie theater. I go to the movies practically every weekend. But I saw it on a Paramount Promotional VHS video and I laughed so hard I was crying.
|
Here is my list:
the Worst Witch (every Halloween since it aired the first time) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Half-Baked School Daze (I know everyone in my school saw it the first night) Staying Alive (supposedly the sequel to Saturday Night Fever) A Christmas Story (it actually didn't do well on the screen) 16 candles Crooklyn (loved the soundtrack too) Legend (with Tom Cruise) Trainspotting(only 16mill) Dancning in the dark (Bjork rules!) Major Payne Summer of Sam(loved the music) Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (How young was SJP in that) American Psycho(it's a Christian Bale thing) Raising Arizona Can't think of anymore at the moment. I sure love going to the movies. |

Loved it, and it wasn't a flop. Wee need a new list for box office HITS! :) |
Sixteen Candles was not a flop, it's a classic!
I know every line of that movie. Also, my friends and I saw Half-Baked at the theaters because it was a two for one deal. It was soooo funny. I love Dave Chappelle. His stand-up was soo funny.
"Now all these years I thought I liked chicken because it was delicious. Now I understand it's because I am predispositioned because I'm Black" ~Dave Chappelle~ |

And yes Dave Chappelle is the man! I try to always check him out when he comes to Carolines in NYC! |
Anybody remember Troop Beverly Hills????
Beverly Hills, what a thrill Beverly Hills, what a thrill :D |

I wanted to smack the taste outta her mouth five minutes into the movie. It REALLY irritated me. My friends LOVE Pootie Tang. I don't see the fascination myself, although it IS fun to say "sada-tay" every once in awhile, lol. |
since this movie looks like it will flop, I'll admit I liked The Hot Chick. My friend dragged me to see it, and it was hilariously funny. I was literally ROTFLMAO:D
|
OK, HOLD UP!
As people are posting these movies, I am noticing something about myself. I AM CORNY! But, at least I'm not alone!

I USED to love that film, but I know it would make me sick if I watched it tomorrow. But I will bring up BACK TO THE BEACH! LOL |
I was watching it last night and.....
I don' t know how I didn't think of this before, but "Freddy Got Fingered" was hella-funny!!!!!! OMG, I LMAO until I cried! I also forgot, "Riding in Cars with Boys." That was sooooooo good. I saw "The Glass Shield" today and I thought it was really good. I also liked Down to Earth, Crooklyn and Dangerous Minds. I can't think of any more right now. I was just typing them off the top of my head. But speaking of the girl from "Just Another Girl...," I wanted to slap her silly too, but I had to remember that she was a high schooler and I was out of HS when I watched the movie. Her attitude about life in general was kinda messed up and the fact that she only dated guys with money and/or a nice car reminds me of our good ole friend, WINTER SANTIAGA!!!!!! I'm sure y'all remember her, but if you don't, you better ask somebody!!!!!!!!! :D

I finally saw Glitter tonight on HBO. It was a lot better than I expected. I teared up at the end. :(
Mariah was a little stiff, but it was not painful. |
Not much of a movie goer, but I did enjoy...
CB4
Deuce Bigalow |
My turn!
How about:
The Birdcage The Transporter Posse Liar, Liar (was that a flop?) Undercover Brother Love Jones |
The Ladies Man: I just saw it and it is absolutely hilarious.
|
I could list a whole bunch of movies, but instead I want to distinguish one film from all the rest: METEOR MAN
Robert Townsend made such a quality movie and it had studio support (I still remember the commercials) yet nobody went to see it. As a matter of fact, I don't even recall seeing it in the video store. Meteor Man is a classic film that the whole family can enjoy. |
Death to Smoochy with Robin Williams. This movie is quite random and bizarre, but I think it had a clever sense of humor.

I really like "The Last Action Hero". Apparently, nobody else did...

I loved Pootie Tang!! And Glitter wasn't so bad once I finally sat down with the kids at work and watched it. Phat Beach was another flop that I'll admit that I actually liked.
|
Hav Plenty. It's an awful, awful movie. However, I watch it everytime it comes on. Also, I've been quoting the movie alot recently.
"Do I look like a french fry...do I look like a french fry?...then why are you trying to play me like a side order!" FUNNY STUFF! |

Why????  P.S. Read your location...had me CTHU!! How is the SlimFast Pasta? |
O.K. I'll admit it.
I looooove Baby Boy! I cry when Tyrese is sitting on the floor with the gun and Ving Rames comes and takes it out of his hands. I cried when the Gooding chile (I don't know any of the characters names and I have seen it about 20 times) gets shot then baptised. I even cried at the end when old girl flashes her ring at Tyrese and says "please believe it! Fo' LIFE!!!" **waiting for the jokes*** |
Ok, Ok
I liked Bamboozled. It flopped in theaters, it was long, but I liked it. I like everything Spike Lee puts out. I think that it was just too deep for the majority, they didn't understand it so they didn't like it. I enjoyed it however.
|
Glitter really wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.. trust me I've seen worse(ie the INKWELL:( )
