sure...some groups do haze..that's their thing..but after reading this post, I think that this former-teacher was telling a fib. It sounds that she may be anti-greek and was trying to give the greek system a bad rep. I highly doubt that her tale was true about a coed group, namely for the reasons being, if that was how it is..that she went through it too..and I don't hink many teachers will be that open about being forced to do the dirty, blind folded, to guys she didn't even know, unless, that's how she likes to do what she does, either way, it sounds like pure crapola. I give credit to the women here, and I think that there would be more self-respect for oneself than to do something like that.

Hi Tara!
I joined Sigma Kappa in the fall of this year, and I can tell you straight up that no one even THOUGHT about hazing us. The roughest thing that went on during my pledge period was my big sis taking me on an all-expenses-paid weekend trip to Disney World. :D
You have to learn the history of your sorority and stuff like that, but NEVER let anyone tell you that hazing is acceptable in ANY form, and certainly not like what you were talking about. If you rush (and I hope you do!) the odds are overwhelming that you will join a house that is full of girls who will love you and take care of you, and never even think about hazing. However, if you ever get into a position where you feel uncomfortable with something you're supposed to be doing for your house, don't do it. It's that simple :). If it's something you think needs attention, tell the new member educator or the president, or go to someone outside of the house. The important thing is that you are safe and happy :).

For the love of Christ... reviving an 11 year old thread to say "paddling, sad face"?

Thread locked.

Good God.
