Also, didn't she write.. .'Then Again Maybe I Won't' and 'Tigerlily'

She wrote "Then Again Maybe I Won't" (which was funky, because it was all of that puberty stuff from a *guy's* point of view!), and I know she did "Tiger Eyes"-- is that what you were thinking of?

I'm a middle school librarian (almost done with my MLIS degree, woohoo!), and had to read "Forever" for my YA lit class. *ugh* Absolutely hated it. OF course, I read it as an adult, so the sex stuff didn't have any of the surprise or mystique. I got kind of annoyed/bored with the guy always being horny with her.

But Ramona, oh, those are the *best*. Had to read Ramona the Pest for kid lit. Great stuff. And yes, I always remembered the "quarter of an hour" part of Ramona's life. Heh.

I remember years ago (at least 25) that Judy Blume's Forever was made into a TV movie. I think it was shown on CBS. Don't know if it was ever released on home video, though.

I read DOUBLE FUDGE on Friday and was in tears with laughter @ Fudge and his antics.

Put it on your list for the next time you need a back to childhood flashback moment.

I am headed to the library today to get more childhood favorites.

I know i've read her books....I just don't remember them well.

I was a big fan of BSC. I had 1-40 inclusive plus 5 super specials! Unfortunately I grew out of them really quickly...only collected for 2 years(or less)....then I moved on to bigger things, (litterally, eg,compare 200 page BSC to 1000 "Mists of Avalon" :p)

I am finding that i am becoming more interested in children's lit....besides the fact that i'm a Harry potter fanatic, I recently purchased "The sisterhood of the travelling pants" by Ann Brashares which, if i was 12, would have been a great book - it still made me cry even if it was predictable :p

I think I will def have to check out Judy Blume from the library and reread some of her books....

Fave JB book is Summer Sisters, I had no idea it was that good! I had every one of the BSC series, but I wanted the girls to age a little,I became older than them! Does anyone remember the series on Disney and the movie, we went to see it for my 12th b-day!

Judy Blume

When I was in elementary school one year our teacher made us write to our favorite author and I wrote to Judy Blume. She wrote back and I kept the letter for years.
I love Summer Sisters and try to read it once a year. It always makes me cry, but I love it.
Just sharing!

My all time favorite Judy Blume book is "Just As Long As We're Together". That was my 1st book written by her. When I was young my mom used to work in a middle school reading class, so I got to hear her read it while she cassette recorded it for her students to listen as they read their own copies. After she was finished recording her reading, I borrowed her copy and read it twice.
That brought back some childhood memories. :)

I absolutely LOVED this book when I was younger. When I read it, I read it with my two best friends (at the time). We pretended like were the three main characters. I still remember the girl had a crush and she named him "Benjamin Moore" after the paint. This brings back such good memories. I think I'll venture over to amazon or half.com to relive my memories. :D

Judy Blume is classic. I received the "Fudge" boxed set for Christmas this year, and I've read them all over again. What great books.

My favorites were:
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret
Blubber
Just As Long As We're Together
Then Again, Maybe I Won't (still have this one)
Tiger Eyes (ditto)
