Question: how is everyone sending their SS gifts? Are you wrapping them and sending large boxes, or sending them in smaller packaging? I don't do a lot of big mailing so I am somewhat unsure. Thanks!

I had 1 big box and wrapped the smaller ones in it. Also may depend on how fragile it is.

I got mine today. I have a lovely lessons learned from the cat calendar (which reminds me of my 2 brat cats) and a squirrel charm on a bracelet that is absolutely gorgeous. Thank You!!!

I got my Secret Squirrel gift in the mail last week, but my mom is making sure that I don't open it until Christmas!!!
I'm hoping that my Secret Squirrel will get hers by next week...it's going out in the mail tomorrow! Ooh I hope she likes it! |

Snail Mail
Just a note that I've received some messages that the slow snail mail bug has hit! So...please be patient! I sincerely hope it's in the mail (no one told me they were dropping out...)
I'll be away from the PC from Christmas to late Saturday or maybe Sunday so I won't be able to pass on any messages until then. It's been fun trying to match interests from one sister to another. It shows that no matter the age, we have something in common! Roses to everyone! LiEP, Lynn |

I hope my secret squirrel isn't mad at me either- all my christmas presents accidentally got thrown away- to her and my family so I had to rebuy EVERYTHING! That's right my father, dear old thing, finally cleaned out his closet- which he knew had my christmas presents in it! And when he threw away all those clothes, he accidentally threw away my presents- so I have two more items to pick up because I can't find the exact ones I had before and then she can have hers too! PLEASE DONT BE MAD SORRY!
BTW Did I mention Imissed out on Christmas fun because I have been running a 103 fever since SUNDAY! It finally broke last night (just in time for me to work today- joy!) and although I still feel horrible I am here. BAH HUMBUG! NO Christmas Eve dinner with my family or anything. Just chicken noodle soup! |
yup, mine's in the mail too-- used a third party to mail it (store) so who knows when they actually sent the item out. heh...but hopefully will get it before the new year.

I didn't give myself a Secret Squirrel, lol. (Leslie, if you meant the keychain, it was from my brother as a gift of when they went to Hawaii this summer, lol. He held it for a few months. )
I did send one though but she hasn't responded to pms. I don't have a regular email for her. She's been MIA, lol. Mai Ly received hers. I don't have time to email individuals to say did you send it, so should I post who's is who's in case someone mailed it but the person never got it??? |
Lynn, as much as I hate to spoil the surprise, that's probably a good idea! I sent my gift out two weeks ago, and I will be ticked if it never arrived because (1) its a really cool gift and (2) part of it was time-sensitive!

Yeah, I sent mine two-day mail on the 20th when I moved home.
Could it be that people haven't received their gifts because they've been out of town? A lot of people have been MIA...haven't seen Tonya, Lisa, Wendy and Wendi, Jen, Katey, Sarah, and others around as often. (hint, hint, that means we miss you! ;)) |
I got mine! I love it! Daisies are awesome and I have a feeling I know which one of my wonderful sisters it was- by the way I only know how to pronounce that Merry Christmas because of the song in National Lampoons Christmas vacation!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! ... WOW! this has definitely been one of my longer MIA periods ;) ... first off - Lynn, THANK YOU for your beautiful gift(s) ... I was SOOOO happy & excited when I unwrapped them right there at the post office!! :D ... I received them on or about the 20th, though they were probably there before!!
Well, since it is a new year & I want to start it out right, I'll admit it ~~ I didn't send out my gift to Marissa until the 23rd (I was being sooo picky), but luckily it did arrive promptly on the 24th thanks to FED EX (and my friend's corporate rate!) ... all's well that end's well!! You're welcome! I wanted something that specifically said AGD but I didn't make it to the Greek store until after I had mailed your present, lol. I found a somewhat cute red squirrel with a green tummy.:rolleyes: i bought it to add to my collection but I'm not crazy about it, lol. Sad that "Greek" items have gotten so expensive. After all, college students are buying the majority of them.

I think if we decide to do this again next year, we have to be more organized, be more committed, and send gifts by an agreed upon date.

This was great
I think that this year was great. We shouldn't have to have a specific date because this was secret squirrels not something holiday specific. We have to remember that this time of year is very crazy for us all and that we could do this at different times during the year. Maybe next year we need to set some idea of price range.

Its so tough dealing with the mail, and it gets even tougher around the holidays. I'm sure that the late presents are slowly trickling in and I bet they are still just appreciated now as they were 2 weeks ago! This was our first attempt at it, so there were bound to be a few minor snags. Bunches of red and buff roses to Lynn for taking charge! :D

Finally got mine!
Because of school being closed I wasn't able to retrieve my SS gift, but it is back open and I love it!
My SS choose to not relieve herself in her mailing (but I know who she is because of the list being posted). She sent me some note cards with the Alpha Gamma Delta 100 years logo and the Christmas Ornament. I really do thank my Secret Squirrel!! Loyally, Arin |
