I didn't post before, but DH and I met in August 1986 (he was a Grad Assistant in Student Activities and I held a position on the Student Activities Board. Thank heavens for required campus activities :D) We started dating in October 1986, were married in May 1988, and are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary this year.

I met my bf in a bar on the Upper East Side. I was full of Cosmopolitans.:p

H and I met also met at a cheesy sports bar!

It's funny because we've both been going to Martini Night at a restaurant every Wednesday and we never met each other until a mutual friend introduced us. After Martini Night one night, we all headed down to TJ's Sports Bar and we were introduced at the bar.

I wasn't attracted to him at first because I knew that he was significantly older than me...fifteen years, to be exact. An hour [and a few beers later], we were in a deep conversation about tattoos and I began debating whether or not to give him my phone number because I started to think that he was cool to hang out with. He beat me to the punch by giving me his...so I quickly gave him mine.

We ended up closing the bar down and we talked some more in the parking lot. I had to take a friend of mine home and I could tell that she was getting irritated because I was taking a long time. Things got crazy when I found out that he drove a Lotus--so he took me flying down Kapiolani Blvd. and I'm like, "I feel like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman...except for the whole hooker part."

It's still new and we're still getting to know each other, but we've been inseparable since that night.

OTW: Wow! A Lotus??!! Does he have a brother? :p

You all are so lucky. In these uncertain times I wish had someone to hold.

LOL, yep! In fact, he has two younger brothers!

the next question is *how* much younger. My bf now is 8 years older than me, but I don't think I could do more than that.

No one ever thought that I would actually settle down, but look what happened!

We met at my Sorority's semiformal.
I went with a guy who I REALLY didn't like... He went with my big sis (She had actually just started dating this other guy a couple days before, and had promiced to take my Kevin prior).
And wouldn't you know...

I did not want to go to this dance. My grandma told me, "Go, you never know who you are going to meet." So I bought my dress literally 3 hours before the dance... and thank God I went.... I met the man of my dreams that night.
I am one lucky girl. :)

OTW I need some love my way, too. All the guys I meet have girlfriends that they are breaking up with and we are just friends anyway... actually, only kinda... just read my Livejournal, you'll get the idea.

Sarah, my crystal ball tells me that you too will have a significant other soon.
