I think this virtual thing was REALLY up her alley! Not that she couldn’t have done as well in person, but she has time to take notes & mentally process every party in turn without running back and forth in blistered heels and 100 degree temps & humidity. This class of 2020 as a whole is making a lot of lemonade out of their lemons!

I’m so glad to hear that!! Sounds like she really went into this with a positive attitude. Hope her day today is great and can’t wait to hear who she’s running home to tomorrow!

What time is bid pick up today?

Benzgirl 08-16-2020 11:57 AM

Not as much "tent talk" and PNMs basing more on personal conversations -
Advantage: Virtual Recruitment

Cookiez17 08-16-2020 01:51 PM

Bid day is today! I hope everyone has a great day!

I keep thinking about all of these online classes about to start under the same scenario and wondering how they will all make it work.

my DD is in the middle of {virtual} recruitment at a non-SEC school this weekend. Her roommate is also rushing, and they had at least 2 simultaneous calls yesterday. One was the for the same sorority and the other was not. The same chapter party was fine, but DD had tech issues on the other and had to disconnect from her airpods. Evidently, the active on the roommate call could hear my DD talking after that. LOL ....

overall, though, I think it's been fine. they have a pretty small room, too. LOL

My BFFs daughter is a thrilled new Sigma Kappa!

CrimsonCrescent 08-16-2020 03:34 PM

Quota was 110. UA Gphi took 127 per region 3 Instagram.

BADOOM BADOOM TRI DELTA!!

So excited for her! My GLO is not at Alabama, but my daughter is a Tri Delta at another SEC school. They were Big/Little on their high school dance team and beyond excited to be sisters again (& forever!).

Cookiez17 08-16-2020 07:48 PM

Send her a big DLAM from me!

content.camille 08-16-2020 08:33 PM

Has anyone heard anything about Sigma Delta Tau? I know the ΣΔΤ girls were doing formal recruitment for their first time and my daughter said that they got Under 10(?) girls or so? Is this true? Does anyone know if they're following the same quota as the rest of the Panhellenic sororities?

Xidelt 08-16-2020 09:20 PM

If you look at their Instagram, it looks more like 27. But if they are participating in formal recruitment, they would follow the same numbers.

It's not. The photo with 27 members is PC'19 from yesterday, they posted a photo of PC'20 from today with 5 new members. I'm hoping that they had a lower quota and will still do their usual continuous open bidding.

Cookiez17 08-16-2020 10:12 PM

Per the UA Panhellenic these are the groups that are eligible for COB

Alpha Delta Chi

Alpha Delta Pi

Alpha Phi

Delta Zeta

Gamma Phi Beta

Kappa Alpha Theta

Pi Beta Phi

Sigma Kappa

Sigma Delta Tau

Zeta Tau Alpha

Take note SDT and ADX usually have their own recruitment.

Xidelt 08-16-2020 10:31 PM

OK, thanks for the clarification.

Congratulations to your daughter on her bid from Tri Delta!

Isn't it possible that that's just part of their new member class?

I truly hope that whatever is the case, they have success with their future plans

Hmm...a bit more than I thought there might be. ADX isn't an NPC sorority so they're never going to be a part of formal recruitment. I think SDT came into formal so late that it put them at a disadvantage. Plus they REALLY had to stretch cover all the recruitment parties. It's not easy even with 300 members...they probably had fewer than 100 for all those video chats. I'm glad they participated, though.

robinseggblue 08-18-2020 05:28 AM

Not sure how reliable this information is (probably not very), but I read on that other site that SDT's quota may have been set at a much lower number than that of the other houses. The poster claimed it was set at 20.

Titchou 08-18-2020 06:46 AM

I would have been surprised if their quota had been the same as everyone else's.

tcsparky 08-21-2020 04:57 AM

I would be interested in hearing from SDT about their perspective in participating in formal Recruitment. I know we probably won't, but if we did, I would read it!
