stop light mixer
 

my big brother in pi kappa phi loves this idea- though we haven't tried it yet- but a stop light mixer- and the poeple who want to hook up wear green- those who are thinking abotu it- wear yellow- and those who don't- wear red- idk maybe incorporating a play stoplight you can get a spencer's- idk we might do it but if someone tries it lemme know how it turns out ~*Maggie :D

The Pikes did this at my school, only they did it with cups instead of wearing clothes.

I can think of some fun things to do with the stoplight.

We ended up doing the stoplight theme, but most of the girls didn't like the iddea, either because they didn't have any cute green or yellow clothes, or because they didn't care. It was still fun though.
The Sigma Chi's did Italian Wedding last year, which was a BLAST. They had all the girls take a bus to the bar, where they had a stripper and champagne waiting for them for the "bachelorette" party, and the guys stayed at their house and had their own "bachelor" party with a stripper and a couple kegs. And then afterwards, the guys met up with the girls at the bar.

One of the fraternities used to have a beach party in mid-winter - it would start it as a mixer, and then open up later.

It doesn't sound like much, but they went all out - they actually filled their basement 8" deep with sand, and had a real lifeguard stand. The fraternity was an okay one, but it had the top sororities vying for an invitation - NO sorority ever turned down an invitation to the Beach Party (quite a feat when there are 50+ fraternities and 16 sororities)

The guys liked it, because most of the girls wore bikini tops and shorts. The pledges didn't like it though, because guess who was in charge of getting all the sand out of the basement?

Another different theme is an "Alamo" party - come as a Texan, and Indian, or a Mexican. Margaritas, Lone Star Beer and Tex-Mex food. (I went in a blue skirt and blazer, as a Alamo Rental Car girl. My 6'2" boyfriend went as a senorita - and not a pretty one, at that).

Oh, and not to be PC, but why a "ghetto" party rather than a "hip-hop" party? Same clothes and music, but less chance of being offensive. It's kind of like the difference between calling it a "St. Patricks day party" vs. a "Drunken Micks" party.

Professors and school girls

Alot of the sororities on my campus are doing jungle themes. Need I say more?!?

7 deadly sins is good, pimps n hoes is always fun, naught school girl/perverted professor is good, Beer Olympics, Money can buy me love (give the girls money and then make the guys "earn" it then after a few hours have some girls set up with body shots etc that the guys can 'buy') , Around the world (have people set up stations with different shots/beers/drinks to shoot/pound etc, and give thema fake passport and the first person to get all the stamps gets a prize), splash bash (requires kiddie pools in your living room), wife beaters (everyone wears wife beaters, its easy and fun), pirates and wenches, jocks and cheerleaders, etc

Slip 'n Slide (these are always fun just get a couple of rolls of plastic sheeting soak em in water and soap and slide! if you have a hill it helps a lot)

Barbie and Ken
Nuts and Bolts (guys get bolts, girls get nuts and you have to find your match)

Have an Avanlanche Party. We did and it went off well, although there is a lot of clean up.

You'll need quite a bit of the styrofoam packing peanuts. They come in tubes, and there's more in there than you'd think. Drag them into the house, then bust 'em open and bring on the guests. (you wont get the right effect unless the peanuts are about mid-calf deep). We had around 500 people in our house at once and the flyers are still up on campus! (The party was almost 2 years ago!)

Also, we have our "Anything for a Dollar' party.

Print up 'dollars' and give them to the guys, or girls (whichever serves your particular needs).

The girls (or guys) that aquire the most dollars by the end of the night win prizes. Usually a mall gift cert.

Ideas
 

My friend's sorority is doing a jungle theme. All the guys are going to be dressing up Tarzan looking outfits and the girls something like Jane. There might even be monkeys.
