I thought steak was an okay food to like but guess not. Just kidding. ;) |
Let's see.....
Sushi: I introduced my husband to it. He predicted word for word what his mother would say if I ever mentioned it (accurately, I might add): "How could you STAND to eat that RAW FISH???" She won't even eat a steak unless it's charred beyond recognition  Medium-rare steak and hamburgers: Never thought this might disturb people until I met my mother-in-law (see above) Lox: I'm Jewish, it goes with the territory :) Same goes for gefilte fish. I don't "hate" to admit I love any of these foods, but I grant they will turn the occasional stomach :) |
Here's a food story I just thought I'd interject...
When my daughters went up to my parents' to spend a week during the summer, apparently my mom served them cauliflower at dinner and they looked it and said to her, "What IS this???" So I got an irate call from my mom yipping because my children had never seen cauliflower! I will not apologize for not serving something that looks like a brain, darnit! |
gross foods
Oh man.
I LOVE raw pie dough. Cookie dough is good to but something about pie dough... I've loved it since I was a kid. Also, some of you are into your mayo, I'm all about the ranch dressing. I put it on EVERYTHING. In fact, I just got back from Burger King and I'm dipping my fries in ranch dressing right now. :) |
Anybody ever eat raw potatoes with a little salt? Pretty tasty!
|
I am so surprised that a lot of people eat katcup and mayonaise mixed together. I will miz it up on a plate in a restuarant and poeple will look at me like I'm soooooo disgusting! I knew I loved GC for a reason, showing me the "Fry Sauce" love! Where do the sell this fry sauce? or is it at McDonalds?
|
I like some strange stuff
-Corn on the cob with mayo spread on it (my grandma did it) -Tomato sandwich (toast bread with mayo, sliced tomatos with salt, peper and sugar sprinkled on it and a dash of olive oil. It's damn good) -I have eaten lamb, duck, pheasant, deer, moose, dove, quail, calamari, shark. This is what u get when u live on a farm. -I agree with Jaggergirl, Raw chocolate chip cookie dough is good. -I love sautted onions and peppers. -When I was little I used to put ketcup on mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese, and a few other stuff. -One more thing, u have warmed cooked rice, spinkle cinnomin and sugar on it, and the pour milk over it in a bowl. Its good if ur stomach is not feelin well too. |
Mmmm... I LOVE raw cookie dough, cake batter, brownie batter, pizza dough, pie dough, etc.. So yummy!

OMG, I too thought I was the only one who ate Tuna with MAc and Cheese. I love it. Yes my friends thinks it weird, but it's great! I also dip my fries, on occasion in ketchup and mayo. A few of my Pi Phi sisters do this too. But that's really all it is for weird food. I could eat some because I have it in the house (like Marmite), but it's just too disgusting for me. |
Fries with mayo & gravy
Lox, which I never realized was strange Cabbage |

Everything is better with peanut butter or ranch dressing!
-I'm a sucker for a good peanut butter & banana sandwich -Macaroni and cheese with ranch on top (particularly from Golden Corral) -Toasted bread with butter, cinnamon, sugar, and honey on it -Calamari -fried okra is the shit -yet another 'fry sauce' lover, but only at BK -I dip my fries and my chicken nuggets in my frosties from Wendys -potato chips stuffed under the bun of my hamburgers -fries and melted chocolate -ostrich filets are incredible! unless someone told you it was ostrich, you'd think it was USDA grade A cow -smushed potatoes with corn and lima beans whipped in -peas!!! why do so many people hate peas??? -I like broccoli but all my friends hate it -can't eat pickles on a sandwich but I could eat them whole, straight outta the jar -pepperoncini's on anything that resembles a sandwich guess that's all for now...whew *edited to add: I love me some raw cookie dough, too or these things my dad makes called 'dough dogs'. take leftover pie crust and smear it with butter, cinnamon, and sugar, roll it into a log shape and bake it... soooooo good :) |
At first I thought the BF was INSANE when he told me this, then I tried it and it wasn't so bad.
Mac n Cheese with those spanish olives stuffed with pimentoes. It seems odd, but yet tasty. I used to take the cold cuts off my sandwich and eat them seperate from the bread with mayo. Mayo(only true french mayo, american has too much oil) on any vegetable, esp. ripe tomatoes, yUM! Honey wheat thins with onion and chive cream cheese. |
I admit I eat like a pregnant women.....
I like tuna and peas in my Mac and Cheese, sometimes I put Ranch dressing in too...I know gross, but I like it I like to drink straight pickle juice Sushi is my absolute FAVE I LOVE grits...with sugar, or ketchup, or honey.... I like ketchup in my egss, scrambled please! I eat deviled eggs like NO OTHER!! I put lemons in my Sprite, and yes I have gotten looks from my servers before. WOW  I can't believe I made it through this thread!!
I am seriously the pickest eater you will ever meet. (or not meet since I haven't met really anyone from gc ;) ) I do have a crazy one for you that my little brother does. (I almost barf everytime he does it, and it isn't nearly as bad as half the stuff you all mentioned) He takes scrambled eggs (which i hate) and hash browns and mixes it all together with grape jelly and ketchup!!! It looks so nasty in person ~I don't know how he does it. |
Pickles dipped in mustard
Turnip greens Grits Barbeque sauce on any kind of potatoes Salt on watermelon Gravy on spinach Fried Alabama round steak (i.e. fried bologna) Hard boiled eggs (but don't give me any other style of egg) Deviled eggs Mountain Dew mixed w/ pink lemonade Anything dipped in Cool Whip Fries dipped in ranch and mustard mixed together |
brussel sprouts
squid cheese (the stinkier the better... :)) tuna (sushi and canned) fries, gravy and curds, aka - Poutine bangers and mash toad in the whole (sausauge baked in yorkshine pudding batter) |
Lima beans and beets are two weird foods that I like. :)
I never eat fish, eggs, or drink plain milk. http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/pukeface.gif |
sushi ( i am an addict) there is one particular kind that i like that makes most people sick- barbecue eel:p
i like putting hot sauce on just about anything on southern and soul food, i like to mix it with hot sauce and vinegar oh and chitterlings (sp.?) and rice- (serious soul food). i grew up with this although i havent had it in forever. i dont want to say what it really is, it may gross some people out. i think it is so good! i like my to mix my scrambled eggs with corn beef hash and grits..:p yummy!! i put lemons in my sprite too. and my coke, my water, actually any soda. i love lemons |
Now I feel like a really wierd eater around these parts.
I grew up on grits and sausage gravy and stuff, and of course the saurkraut and the bratwurst and all that good German food. We do this thing with salted pickles, sour cream and a little sugar, too, that's good. I love fried bologna, cold baked bean sandwiches, lemon and peppermint sticks, hardboiled eggs, tomatoes with mayo on them, cold hot dogs, fried pickles, ramen noodle coleslaw. And let me tell you about Skylite blue snowballs in the little styrofoam cups with marshmallow on them. That's definitely a Baltimore thing. When I went to college, deli food of any kind became a foregin delicacy to me. I love lox and tongue and any kind of schmeer you bring in. I'll eat it and love it. Gifilte fish is alright, too, and I love borscht. My father's side of the family is Portuguese, right? So anyone from New England, especially the MA and apparently CT areas know we eat some really random shit. Lunguisa, a kind of orange sausage, enguia which is eel that's quick fired after being marinated in garlic, oil and vinegar. Lots of sweetmeats at the holidays, and we pick lobster clean, brains and everything. We won't eat mussles, though. That's bait. I love sweet bread with a big old hard boiled egg in the center, and my grandmother, God rest her, used to make every kind of fish possible. I don't even know the names of half of what I ate as a kid. I miss really good arroz e galinha, though. And you can't get enguia down here in Maryland....*sigh* |
Hmmm
This thread is GREAT!! I love weird food combo's...especially around that time of month ;) -Cool Ranch Doritos dipped in strawberry jelly -pretzel poppers dipped in pralines and cream icecream -rice with french dressing drizzled on it -crackers with cheese and strawberry jelly...i didnt think this was odd til my roomate came in and was like EWWWWW...but its so yummy -fried bologna with ketchup -plain pasta with butter and ketchup -i am not a fan of plain "original" potato chips...so i like to take a chocolate chip cookie and make a cookie and chips sandwich... -anything that is a combo of sweet and salty is yummy to me :) |
I decided to bring this old thread back up..cause my roomie told me how gross what i am eating is..and its very yummy to me..so i decided to post it here as one of the foods i hate to admit i love :)
white rice, with a scrambled egg on top..with a lil spot of ketchup mixed in...its like chineese rice without the other stuff...lol it sounds alot grosser than it is |
frosted flakes and sweetpickles! I discovered this after a night out, when I was so hungry that I had lunch on one side of my tray and breakfast on the other. I was so tired I didn't pay attention and took a bite of both. It sounds gross but it makes it both sweet, crunchy and tangy! It's not something I eat all the time, but I get cravings for it once in a while, especially after going out!
|
This is stuff that people had told me how gross that sounds, but I love it...
-In-N-Out fries dipped in my chocolate shake -Pickled Okra -Cottage Cheese with pineapple chunks mixed in -Corned beef & hash -Chocolate coke / my grandpa's brother tried to get me to drink pepsi & milk, but I just can't... -Raw Onion - like when you are chopping them up, just eat a piece... yumm -Aligator sausage - first time I had this was in a dish from House of Blues -Buffalo burgers -Tofu nachos and I am sure there are more that I can't think of... and some people say that I am a picky eater... ;) |
Kinda unrelated, but when I'm not that hungry I sometimes order from the children's menu.
|
Sushi- love love love it!
Lox- I never thought that was weird For all those who love cookie dough, I think it's one of the grossest things you can eat! I once started to eat cookie dough ice cream because I thought it was cookies and cream. The stuff grossed me out, I thought the cookies and cream ice cream had gone bad til I looked at the box. And I can't imagine ever licking the remnants of cookie dough after baking cookies. Has anyone ever had chocolate pecan popcorn? It may not sound weird to you all but when I was on vacation in LA I bought several bags of it at the Farmer's Market-- loved it and I wish I knew what brand it was so I can order some! |
They aren't in Pittsburgh anymore and I don't know if they exist at all any longer, but I have been CRAVING a nice greasy Rallyburger. The zenith of bad fast food. :p
|
Rally's is still around, at least in Indiana and Kentucky. In fact, Rally's is the official hamburger/fast food restaurant of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Speaking of weird food, I also dip my fries in chocolate shakes! So yummy. I also like cheese dipped in barbeque sauce. Cheese and sweet pickles Peaches and cottage cheese Macaroni and cheese and baked beans (both homemade) mixed together..well, not really mixed but a bite of each at the same time. Fried potates with gravy |
*bump*
Wow!! I thought I was a weird eater...you guys make me feel normal! :D Here's some weird things I loooooove: --Dry Ramen noodles. I just open the pack and munch on the dry noodles. Mmmm... --nachos with pepperoni slices --frozen french fries --Doritos with Miracle Whip --Miracle Whip on saltines --malt vinegar on french fries --green olives, straight from the jar...I could eat them til I'm sick! --deviled eggs...of course, southerners usually do love them. ;) You'll never go to a southern picnic/potluck where someone DIDN'T bring deviled eggs! --saurkraut, either plain or with polish sausage or pork steaks --cabbage --brussel sprouts --pretzel rods dipped in orange soda or Sprite --Gatorade mix powder --Ritz crackers dipped in applesauce --bagels topped with cream cheese and tuna --roast beef with horseradish(I don't get why so many people hate horseradish!! It's the best!!!) --cucumbers soaked in vinegar with onions I know there's more than that, but I'll have to add to this later. :) *edited to add....* I hate to admit this....but I LOOOOOVE Waffle House! :p |
pickled garlic
peanut butter & banana sandwiches french fries with soft serve ice cream hard serve ice cream in a hot dog bun pineapple and jalapeno pizza asparagus |
