I served on an interview team for a colonization...having a child is unfortunately, a drawback. Not against the child, but just that being a colony member takes a LOT of time and it wouldn't be fair. Established groups already have everything in place, but in colonies everything starts from scratch. Nationals provides the resources so it's not like they are on their own, but the colony members themselves have to work to put everything together - bylaws, calendar, house rules, recruitment plans, and on top of that jump immediately into other greek activities like greek sing or homecoming floats. It's A LOT of work.

OK, so I had my interview today at 10 am and I think it went really really well. Lynda is who interviewed me and she was so sweet and actually from my Dad's hometown...small world eh? Anyways, We spoke for forever, so many girls came and went while I was sitting with her and we just kept chatting and chatting. She was super sweet and I am so excited. I hope I get a call today! I'm so nervous!

I'm going to be out of state and away from a computer until Monday morning!!!!!! UGH!!!!!

Heartbroken again...I didn't get an invite...

I know that there is a lot of people going through recruitment, but I thought after my interview that I had a really good chance. Oh well, no more hopes of Greek Life for me. I don't want to go through the humiliation again. I'm sorry for being so down, but this really sucks. But I am going to the movies tonight with my boyfriend and I'm just going to try and forget that today even happened. Thank you gals and guys so much for your continued support throughout all of this. I wish I could call you all my sisters...but whatever is meant to be will be, and I guess DZ is not meant to be a part of my life. :( Special thanks to Iowahawkeye for many PM's of encouragement...Thanks for everything...

I don't care if you're Greek or not - you've got the right attitude and that's all that matters in life! You didn't need to go Greek, the Greek system needed YOU! :p

...and if you are still interested, there's always rush another semester, or even alumnae initiation...GPhiBLtColonel can tell you about that, she's helped lots of other people with it! :D

some chapters are still COB'ing as well. I don't know if you're interested in that, but it is an option.

Im sorry to hear that you didn't get invited back for prefs. Sounds like you would be a great girl for colonization of DZ and for that matter, any Greek organization! DOn't get too down about it - I went through formal recruitment twice and even did some COB events in between. The second time I pledged though! Whatever you decide, keep the good spirits up as you sound like a wonderful girl. Again, Im sorry you didnt get invited back to help with the colonizatino.

I am so sorry UFrushee05!!! I feel sad and happy all at once. Prefs was beautiful. They had to do two ceremonies. Each has 100 girls and then they will call 150 of us later. I am sooooo excited, it gave me chills!!! Will update if I get a call!!

Congrats to UF56! But it still sounds like there are a lot of great pnms at UF out there. I think SK is COBing. If they have 60ish members they could pledge up to 90ish new members. They already have a house. Maybe SK should host some huge COB event and ask their international to maybe help them. It could be great! Just thinking.....

Welcome to the UF greek community!!! I know that you **really** wanted this...especially after the emotional rollercoaster that was recruitment week back in August!! (has it been that long since we were in the same rush group?!) Anyway, you definitely took a chance, and are now seeing the results! I am soooo EXCITED and HAPPY for you.

I'm really glad about the way things turned out especially after our Pi Chis were discouraging people to drop JUST to go for DZ. You definitely showed them! lol...

Anyway...make sure to keep us updated. I am very excited to hear all about DZ. You should start a new thread about your experience...I know I'll be reading it everyday!

By any chance do you know how many girls they accepted? I thought of you today at the football game because I saw a bunch of girls wearing DZ visors...
