We're collecting final applications for Founding Sisters on Monday. I'm so excited! This chapter has been in the works for seven months, and I'm finally going to be a Beta Sigma Phi. I am really proud of all the ladies who have helped me along the way, and I am equally proud of the Greek Chat women who are starting new Beta chapters, too!!

We made it!!!!
 

We reached and surpassed our goal of seven members. Our chapter now includes ten amazingly wonderful, completely enthusiastic young women who will watch this sorority SOAR!!!! I am so excited. Seven seemed so far away, but now I have nine sisters who I already LOVE. I'll keep everyone posted about the many trials and triumphs that will surely be a part of our journey in Beta Sigma Phi.

Now that my chapter is firmly established, I haven't been posting much on this thread. I've really been enjoying the Beta Sigma Phi forum though!

If anyone is still interested in my journey, I just thought I would post a quick update-----

We did our pledge ritual this afternoon, and it was beautiful. We are holding Rush events tomorrow (Bowling) and December 7th (Strawberry Bash). So far, we have eight PNMs!

Your thread was so wonderful to read, but one quick question. What kind of organization is BSP? I have never heard of it before. Is it a social, professional, or service?

Beta Sigma Phi is a social sorority. It's a non-academic sorority, which means chapters are not required to be affiliated with colleges or universities (although there are several chapters that have elected to become student organizations and/or part of Panhel). Because Beta is non-academic, women of all ages and educational levels may be invited to join. There is no alumna status.

The International website is really thorough, and I encourage you to check it out! I'm so proud of my sorority!
