I have one for Texas, two for Texas Tech, one for University of North Texas, and one for University of Kansas! KU finished the second day of open houses today, so I'm anxious to hear about tomorrow's invitations!

DoctorD 08-19-2017 06:32 PM

My Auburn girls: Alpha Delta Pi and Alpha Chi Omega
My Alabama girls: Alpha Omicron Pi and still trying to find out the last one.

auburnztagirl 08-20-2017 09:27 AM

Results of my recs..... Mississippi State went Pi Beta Phi, Alabama went Alpha Chi Omega and my two Auburn dropped out of rush. I don't know what the deal was with Auburn's rush week. I heard of so many great girls getting released or dropping out.

took advantage of the boss being out of the office to update the results. Hit me with a PM if I missed something :D

I had a lovely, long note from my rec gal, letting me know she'd received a bid from her third choice, which she declined to accept. I'm so sad for her, because she is top notch. I've encouraged her to strongly consider the Sigma Kappa colonization next year, when she'll be a junior.

I know we've discussed it before, but getting your third of three is tough, when you have two other groups you've bonded with at a stronger level.

*sigh* Wish I could have talked to her before she made the decision.

I agree, Sciencewoman. And since she did list all three of her preference chapters, she is not eligible for pledging another group for a year.

Many campuses are changing to 2 preference choices rather than 3, even when they have more than 15 NPC groups.

Is this the one I wrote a rec for also?

clemsongirl 08-26-2017 12:38 PM

My Clemson rec girl was released from recruitment before the third round:( As an out-of-state sophomore rerushing with few friends in sororities she wasn't shocked, but I do feel bad for her. I'm encouraging her to explore COB and see if something works out with the chapters she got further with.

Waiting for my other rec girl to officially announce where she's headed at Texas Tech but I've heard good things:)

I shared both of those things with her. I really think that getting your second of two is much easier than getting your third of three -- that just hurts.

Yes. :( It was really a lovely note.

clemsongirl 08-26-2017 09:53 PM

It's official-my Texas Tech rec girl is a thrilled new member of Alpha Delta Pi!

PKTKKG 08-27-2017 07:10 PM

Queen City Crew is all done! Here are results:

Alabama girl went Pi Beta Phi

Florida State girl went Delta Delta Delta

South Carolina girls - one went Kappa Kappa Gamma and one Gamma Phi Beta

Clemson - withdrew :( after Round 2....I had no idea that a Bridge student would be released this badly. She had ridiculous releases after Round 1 considering she had good grades and activities and is an overall awesome girl. I felt terrible as I would have prepped her if I had any idea this would happen. Oh and we had recs for each group...lesson learned but I still feel awful this happened.

Griffins&Quills 08-29-2017 03:55 PM

It appears that my rec girl at Texas Tech did not join a chapter

Benzgirl 08-30-2017 02:25 PM

Rec Girl went DZ at Bama.

DubaiSis 09-03-2017 01:48 PM

I didn't write a recommendation but counseled the daughter of a sorority sister who is at Lafayette College. She is over the moon to be an Alpha Gamma Delta. I said AXiD, AGD, close enough, right?

momof4girls 09-05-2017 10:32 AM

Also feeling left out for now as my distant cousin's daughter is attending a school where we have no chapter. Formal recruitment for her is in Spring, so it will take awhile to learn whether she ends up in an NPC home.

My cousin's daughter has gone through recruitment this semester and become a new member of her great-grandmother's NPC group, Kappa Alpha Theta!

^^^DoctorD, did your niece participate at Indiana's Bid Day today?

ETA: ^^^JINX! So happy for her and her new AEPhi Home!

Me, too! She looks very, very excited, too!

clemsongirl 01-27-2018 02:34 PM

Bumping this up because my cousin (well, mom's high school best friend's kid, but we count them as cousins) joined Theta at Ohio Wesleyan! She gets to celebrate her first Founder's Day today:)

AnchorAlumna 01-27-2018 03:12 PM

Are we going to have one of these for 2018-2019?
