From what I have read about Vin simple, he states it's complicated because he doesn't want to own up to being black. Shawn Kemp's troubled and controversial career as a Portland Trail Blazer is over in a move that is as puzzling as it is unprecedented.

Kemp will be waived by the Trail Blazers today after agreeing to forfeit more than $25 million of the $46.5 million left on his contract, The Oregonian has learned.

In the agreement, the Blazers will pay Kemp about $20 million over more than 10 years.

Although the NBA players association has expressed concern about the size of the deal, the union, the NBA, the Blazers and Kemp approved it. It is thought to be the most money a player has agreed to give back to a team.

It is unknown why Kemp would agree to give up $25 million of his guaranteed contract, and his agent and attorney did not return phone calls Monday.

The Blazers, through spokesman Mike Hanson, also did not comment Monday.

Kemp's contract still will count against the salary cap, but the Blazers will get an estimated $12.5 million reduction in each of the next two seasons in accordance with Kemp's forfeiture.

The move, which has been in the making for three months, has huge financial implications for the Blazers. The Blazers figure to save at least $40 million, considering the league's luxury-tax rules, which penalize teams one dollar for every dollar they are over the league's tax threshold.

Cleveland coach John Lucas, who has counseled Kemp in recent years, said he was shocked at the news.

"It's not often you hear of players giving back money, especially one of this magnitude," Lucas said. "It's a statement for the player, just in the regard that he is willing to give back a year of his money."

Lucas said he has visited and talked with Kemp recently, but he had no inkling that the move would happen.

Kemp signed a seven-year, $107 million contract in 1997 before he was traded from Seattle to the Cleveland Cavaliers, then traded to the Blazers before the 2000-01 season in a three-team deal that sent Brian Grant to Miami.

Kemp, who turns 33 in November, never regained his All-Star level of play in Portland, averaging 6.3 points in two seasons while battling weight and drug problems.

In April 2001, near the end of his first season in Portland, Kemp entered a drug rehabilitation center for cocaine use. He returned for the 2001-02 season but was suspended for five games in February for failing to comply with his aftercare program. He played in 75 games last season, starting five, and averaged 6.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 16.4 minutes.

Kemp appeared in six consecutive All-Star Games from 1993-1998, five with the Seattle SuperSonics and one with the Cavaliers. Blazers president Bob Whitsitt drafted Kemp in the first round of the 1989 draft when Whitsitt was the Sonics' general manager.

Some say Kemp had become burdened by the discrepancy of his production compared with his salary, which was set to be $21.5 million this season and $25 million next season. Whatever the reason, this much is known: Earlier this summer, Whitsitt approached Kemp because the team thought his contract was unfair. Kemp agreed and forfeited part of his contract.

Naturi kicked out of 3LW
 

People, I am listening to the Wendy Williams show here in NYC (107.5 FM - WBLS) as I am typing up this very post. Naturi from 3LW is at the radio station - she stated that she has been kicked out of the teen girl-group, 3LW. :eek: :eek: about some time last month and someone has replaced her. According to her, management, which consists of Kiely's (the tall young one) mother, and others claimed that Naturi did not have any real thing to bring to the group. They wanted her to represent the "ghetto girl" so to speak. While in LA, and parked inside of their vehicle in front of a KFC the group and management accused Naturi of talking 3LW business to Ms. Williams (which was false, BTW the two of them have the same attorney). The other group members started cursing at her, calling her all sorts of names. Kiely and Adrianne had just bought food from KFC - Kiely says, *&^% you to Naturi and threw her food in Naturi's face.:mad: Kiely's mother did nothing, instead defending her daughter. Adrianne also defended Kiely's actions as well. There had been some question as to if Naturi's skin complexion has any factor to all of this (she is the dark-skinned member). Naturi claims that managment at one point was trying to bring Adrianne (the Spanish member) to the forefront stating that J-Lo was an hot item at the time. The two other members tried to convince Naturi to state to the fans that she is leaving the group to attend college. :mad: Naturi sang live for Ms. Williams - she has such a beautiful voice, it's a shame what has happened to her in these past few weeks. I hope better things happen for her in the future - she is definitely deserving of good things.

Natori has been kicked out of the group 3LW.

I am listening to Wendy Williams now. She has Natori(18) and her lawyer in the studio. Natori claims that the other group members feel that she isn't holding her own. Apparently Adrienne(18) was supposed to represent the Latinas, Keelie (16)was supposed to be the wild girl and Natori was supposed to be the brown skin around the way girl. The group wanted her in baggy jeans and Tims all the time. That wasn't her style. The group had already hired an understudy to begin learning Natori's parts.

GET THIS!
The group's manager, Michelle, is Keelie's sister and legal guardian.

Everything came to a head when Keelie assaulted Natori. Natori and Michelle were arguing, while in the group's Expedition, in a KFC parking lot. Michelle wanted Natori to explain to the 3LW website moderator why there were rumors about Natori leaving flying around. Natori proceded to tell the moderator the truth and Michelle went off. Keelie and Adrienne walked in on the arguement, dinner plates in hand. Keelie then threw her plate in Natori's face. The plate had chicken, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Natori called her parents, then left.

3LW wanted Natori to tell everyone that she left the group voluntarily to pursue college. Natori just wanted to stay in the group.

Good for Naturi for exposing their trifling a$$es. I'm in Cali, so I didn't hear this broadcast, but just went to the 3LW website to see what's up.

I'm not really a fan of theirs, but I did think that their first CD was cute..then they tried to be a bunch of grown chicks on this new release and I really don't like their new image.

They really needed to keep a younger image..and market themselves more like B2K rather than Destiny's Child.

That's good for them! Naturi was the best thing to happen to that group. That "Latina" thinks that she is hot. She is blown up on some J. Lo type stuff. Let's not even talk about the other one! What's her name? Keeli? She needs to go and get those teeth straightened. She looks too much like a 12 year old to even represent the "wild child" or sex symbol. She looks like someone's little cousin that hasn't quite grown into their adult teeth. :rolleyes: 2LW will never get anywhere. (But then again, look what happened when Destiny's Child dropped two members and got Michelle.... However, 3LW is NO Destiny's Child....)

I've seen their new video with Naughty by Nature in it. Now the light-skinned black girl is trying to gain an image like Aaliyah....I mean think about it when you look at the video her hair is exactly like Aaliyah's was in "more than a woman" and so was the outfit only Aaliyah's was white and her's is black. That Latino one is really wanting to be J. Lo sooooo bad. I really don't like them after this. Hell Naturi should have thrown some chicken back in their faced:mad: ........ But to me I've seen one to many of these girl groups.... Destiny's child, TLC (lord knows I hate that happen to Leye) and the list goes on and on......I really miss those old girl groups like Total, Xscape and Envogue.

I've been wondering for a long time what MJ did with is "package" when he had all this skin whitening stuff done. I've always wondered that if his whole body is all white, did his "package" get "whitened...pink" or is it still black. Terrible thought, I know, but can you imagine a white man with a black man's "package".

So, with all that being said, did they surgically alter the genetic makeup of MJ's sperm also? His kids are WHITE....not mixed....WHITE. MJ was never "light skinned". He comes from the same black parents that Tito, Randy and the rest of them come from.

Are they test-tube babies? WTF is going on here.

I think Michael's kids are the same as Mirah Carey, remember her father was black, and her mom is white, and look how white she looks.

Bradley Gumbel, who was ID'd as the man who assaulted a woman the previous night, is released early yesterday after the DA said his alibi checked out.

Cops were fuming yesterday over the district attorney's quick release of Bryant Gumbel's son - who had been arrested for assault and attempted robbery - despite a victim's positive identification less than an hour after the attack.

Bradley Gumbel, 23, hopped a flight to West Palm Beach, Fla., just hours after his release so he could attend his father's wedding to long-time mistress Hilary Quinlan at the luxurious Breakers hotel today.

"They're giving him the benefit of the doubt because of who he is and because he hired a high-priced lawyer," one officer said.

"If it's any other person, if it wasn't Gumbel's kid, the arrest would have held."

Some cops said they were also surprised an assistant DA accompanied detectives to retrace Gumbel's alleged footsteps from early Thursday morning.

"It's unheard of," an investigator said.

Gumbel was locked up for 24 hours after a woman fingered the 6-foot-5 former Columbia Prep basketball star as the man who knocked her down and stole her purse.

Mary Jane Balish, a 31-year-old interior designer, told cops she was walking home from a friend's house when a man tackled her from behind, sources said.

Balish said that as she tried to give up her purse, her attacker told her, "That's not what I want."

She managed to break free and flag down a nearby doorman who called 911.

Balish described her attacker as a 6-foot-2 black man with a shaved head, wearing a white shirt and black pants. Bradley Gumbel is 6-foot-5. The woman has issues. :rolleyes:

Cops stopped Gumbel, who sources said "fit the description to a T," and Balish ID'd him on the scene.

Gumbel was arrested, but released after his alibi - he said he was at the Third Avenue bar Big Sur with a date at the time of the crime - checked out.

Sherry Hunter, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney's office, wouldn't comment on any specifics but said "the matter requires further investigation."

As Gumbel walked out of court a free man shortly after 2:30 a.m. yesterday, he said, "I feel good. Good night," and was whisked away in a waiting car.

He arrived at Palm Beach International Airport at around 3:30 p.m., looking relaxed with a copy of today's Post opened to the story of his ordeal.

He picked up a black leather garment bag, met a group of people who arrived on a separate flight and jumped into a stretch limo.

"I have no reason to talk to the media," Gumbel told The Post upon his arrival. "I am here on personal business."

His lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, said the Gumbels have no plans to sue the city, and are accepting the incident as "good old-fashioned mistakes that happen."

"My client is not vindictive or angry," Brafman said.

for some people when they're getting paid $$$$$ it doesn't matter what they'll do...hell they'll just do it. I know you can't judge a book by it's cover but it doesn't look like she has much morals anyway. Girl she's just enjoying that $$, the admiration that she's getting from some people who's probably saying "oh....you have children by the king of pop". Right now that's probably blowing her mind or at least her my father used to say she's got her nose wide open.

Destiny's Child Number 2 to Grace the Silver Screen


Now that Beyonce Knowles has romped with Mike Meyers in "Austin Powers in Goldmember," it is her fellow Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland’s turn to debut on the big screen. She will share screen time with a pair of Hollywood horror kingpins in the upcoming "Freddy vs. Jason," according to The Hollywood Reporter and MTV News.

Rowland will play one of a group of friends who team up to spark a battle between the legendary evildoers Freddy Krueger (of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" fame) and Jason Vorhees (of the "Friday the 13th" franchise). Rowland joins previously announced cast members Brad Renfro and Robert Englund in the film. "I remember being on the set with Beyoncé on 'Austin Powers' and when she did 'Carmen,' " Rowland told MTV News. "She was like, 'You go act. I know you can do it.' She always thought I had personality. I did a couple of TV spots and now that I'm doing a movie, I'm really excited."

Equally excited that Rowland's onboard is Robert Englund, the actor who played dream stalker Freddy Krueger in all seven "Nightmare on Elm Street" films and in a syndicated TV series as well. Johnny Depp, Patricia Arquette ("Little Nicky") and Laurence Fishburne ("The Matrix") all made early career appearances in "Nightmare" films, and if Englund had his way, Rowland wouldn't be the only singer to get a helping hand from Freddy's bladed glove. "I thought there'd be a great role for Pink," the 53-year-old actor said. "I think this is just me talking about an idea I had. I don't think that was anything that anybody ever acted on. But there is a role that seems like it was almost written for her."

Rowland, a member of the multiplatinum pop group Destiny's Child, is also working on her first solo album. She has appeared on such television series as "The Hughleys" and "Smart Guy." "Freddy vs. Jason" should hit theaters next summer.
