I went to Skutt Catholic HS
Our colors were black, green, and silver
I graduated with about.....100 people, if even that....I think it was actually 94 people...
Our mascot was the skyhawk  I know, there's no such thing, we were just trying to get something that would go with Skutt.....

Speaking of, that was just about the worst name we could have had for a HS.....us girls were always called Skutt sluts

Also, my senior year cheerleading outfit had big silver capital letters spelling out Skutt on a black background..........right across our boobs.....not especially attractive. Anytime any of my friends down here at school sees pictures from cheerleading or my blanket from the football players, they make fun of me. Heh, oh well. Sorry for rambling!

KarenC725 06-19-2002 09:37 AM

I went to Southgate Aquinas (Go Catholic school)

We were the Raiders

Our colors were Black&Gold (gotta love pep rallies with Back in Black playing)

I graduated with just under 100 people.

Wow, you guys all went to small schools! lol...My graduating class had something like 770 people in it...3400+ students in the school. If that isn't crazy enough, get this--I don't know if it actually panned out this way but when I was a senior (graduated in 2001), it was projected that the next incoming freshman class at my high school would have about 1000 people. That is nuts! My town only has one high school for some reason, and it's not a regional high school either, it just has a lot of alumni and political stuff that make everyone really skittish about building another high school when they know they REALLY need one. A couple of years ago they did a huge renovation to make more room (about $80 million, at least) but it sure didn't do much good!

KSig RC 06-19-2002 11:37 PM

The Jayhawks, Blue and white

We actually got in some trouble b/c we lifted the UKansas mascot verbatim - had to pay some royalty fees or something . . . good times

Pampa High School

Home of the "Hustling Harvesters"

WTF is a harvester? Kinda like a farmer, 'cept he carries that thing the Grip Reaper carries, to reap wheat. Yep.

http://www.pampaisd.net/PHS/Images/Harvester.jpeg

Graduated with 220 people.

Colors: Green and Gold... (color of wheat...are yall getting the lame ass theming....)

Famus Alums: Zach Thomas from the Dolphins (my class), "Chip" aka Brad Pope, from MTV's Austin Stories (Hows that for a vague reference?)

Hated every minute of it and was shafted on my education.

High School

I went to Brooklyn Tech High School in Brooklyn, NY. (www.bths.edu)

There were probably 1200 people in my graduating class, and I go to college with less kids than I went to high school with. Our mascot was the "engineer" I think. I kinda haven't seen a picture of our mascot in a while, but from what I remember it looked like the famous "Irish" mascot...except it was holding an engineering tool in its hand (a T-square). The thing is that our school also had majors, and a few of the majors just made their own mascots so we had this other mascot called the Tech-Knight who was a knight with a gear for a shield. I really envy you guys with your normal mascots...I can't believe we had an engineer for a mascot.

We had a lot of distinguished alumni, but no huge celebrities...just ceo's (barnes & noble, some supermarket chain owner, and the founder of computer associates were the most famous) who donated 10 million to my school right when I graduated. There was one actress I remember now who graduated from our school. She was the curly haired chubby girl in the show "Living Single" starring queen latifa.

My high school, MAST Academy, had majors, too. Oceanic Atmospheric Sciences (science people)...Marine Studies and Culture (writers and humanities people, that would include myself)...and Marine Related Industries (vocational people). I thought it was dumb back then, but I'll admit it does prepare you for college...forces you to stick to classes you'll need and take only so many useless electives.

Hey! You probably know a couple of my cousins. One graduated last year and was a star on the girls basketball team. Her sister is a couple of years older and played volleyball.

Slidell HS, Slidell LA
Colors: Kelly Green and White
Mascot: Tigers
Class Size: ~400 - I was #2 in the class of 1998. Go me :D

The story behind the colors and the mascot is thus: When the school was founded, the colors and mascot chosen were a comprimise between the LSU and Tulane alums. Tigers for LSU and Green and White for Tulane. I don't know if its true, but it makes for a cute story.

Serenity 06-22-2002 09:45 AM

Norman Thomas High School for Commercial Education (NYC) ~ we had majors (business) too. Mine was Marketing.
Colors ~ Maroon and White
Mascot ~ Norman Thomas Tigers
Graduating Class Size ~ @300

Brookhaven High School, Columbus, Ohio
Blue and Gold
Bearcats
Graduating class was about 450.

I went from being a Brookhaven Bearcat to an Ohio University Bobcat.

Our kids went to Eaglecrest High School in Centennial, CO
Red, Black and Silver
Raptors

Each of their classes were between 450 and 500.

SoCalGirl 06-22-2002 03:18 PM

Salem High School
Virginia Beach, VA
Colors: Scarlet, Black, Silver, White
Home of the Sundevils!
Mascot: Sunny the Sundevil
aka The Tazmanian Devil (we straight up stole Taz from Warner Bros) :p

It was very controversial to have the Sundevils as a mascot. But the runner up was Witches! We were basically in the backyard of the 700 Club, Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition, etc. So a witch mascot did not sit well with them or the large Wicca population in the area.

Graduating Class in 1995 = 504
We were the largest in the city that year but needed a few hundred more to break any records.

KarmaDGP 06-22-2002 05:29 PM

High school mascots and colors

I went to GEORGETOWN HIGH SCHOOL.
Our colors were
Blue, White and Grey.
We were the
MIGHT BULLDOGS.
I graduated with around 250 people.

KSigkid 06-22-2002 09:54 PM

Bristol Central High Rams (in beautiful Bristol, Connecticut)
Maroon and White (Fight Fight!)
My graduating class was about 230, but it's gotten bigger every year since - my little sister graduated this year, and it was around 270 I believe.

I played baseball, and I loved our uniforms - the maroon and white on gray looked sick, I had to fight the urge to steal my jersey when I graduated.

Delt Alum-

Brookhaven has become an...umm.. interesting school since you went there. It's in a decent neighborhood and one of the better Columbus public schools, but much more diverse than went there I'm sure.

kddani 06-24-2002 03:50 PM

South Fayette High School (McDonald, PA)

116 people in my graduating class

BearyCuteAPhi 06-24-2002 05:38 PM

A.Y. Jackson Secondary School (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
Brown and Orange (can you tell my school opened in the 70s??? the combo is NASTY. it was the last colour combo i wanted draped on me for my graduation picture :( )
Jackson Jaguars
I think there were about 350 people or so in my graduating class.

UMgirl 06-24-2002 06:46 PM

School Of The Arts (SOTA)- Rochester, NY
Played sports for East High School- Rochester, NY. My school only had some sports.

SOTA
black and silver
Silverhawks........ (named for our principals Mr. Silver and Ms. Hawkes, yeah corny I know, but I think the school thought it was better then what the students wanted...Ruffnecks ;) )
Graduating class= 112 or 122 (80% female too :( )

East High
purple and gold
Orientals....yes many found this racial, but it wasnt intended, back when the school first started its rival was West High School (now Wilson HS) and they were called the Westerners, so East became the Orientals. However for some odd reason East's mascot is an Eagle

Well, since I was in the second graduating class (The first to attend all three years), I would say you're right. There was almost NO diversity when I was there. Columbus was in a rapid expansion North at that time -- you might call it urban flight.

I went to junior high at Linden McKinley which was very diverse, and then Medina Jr. High. I lived in Linden, right on the Linden/Medina border, but went to Brookhaven in order to take Electronics which wasn't offered at McKinley.

Actually, I think of both of them fairly fondly -- Linden for it's tradition (my dad went to school there), and Brookhaven because of all of the friends I made there.

ADPiAkron 02-26-2004 01:10 AM

I went to Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio.

Our colors are Navy Blue and Old Gold!
We are the Knights!
152 students in my graduating class!

Also, one of our schools biggest rivals....

St. Vincent-St. Mary...and yes I have seen LeBron play at a regular high school game. I am older than him, but when I went to see my sister cheerlead at the games (she's a year ahead of him- he graduated with my cousin from ST.V-M)...I would see him play.
