Green party

Peaches-n-Cream 06-14-2002 12:13 AM

Democrat

KappaStargirl 06-14-2002 12:28 AM

Hmmmm

I was raised in a staunch Republican household and have always thought of myself as Republican. However, KappaStarboy tells me that I'm much more liberal than I believe I am. Being a Republican member of the American Library Association makes me slightly unpopular...I guess it depends on the issue. I know, I'm so lame sometimes.

newbie 06-14-2002 01:13 AM

not Greek (yet hopefully) - but I consider myself a very conservative Democrat :).

ROWDYsister 06-14-2002 05:11 AM

I'm a registered Democrat...but I must admit, Dubya is growing on me.

librasoul22 10-09-2002 11:46 AM

I am sure to the surprise of absolutely NO one, I am a liberal(soul...JAM;) ) card-carrying Democrat. Although I pretty much hate politics as a general rule, and usually just vote for whoever I can tolerate for more than 15 minutes. But hey, I DO live in FL, so voting is pretty obsolete anyway, lol.

sororitygirl2 10-09-2002 11:46 AM

Republican

greeklawgirl 10-09-2002 11:56 AM

I'm registered Independent, but I most often lean Democrat.

shadokat 10-09-2002 01:35 PM

Republican! Love ya Dubya!!

madmax 10-09-2002 01:50 PM

Republican.

Anyone who isn't smart enough to figure out a butterfly ballot doesn't deserve a vote.

iamachiogirl 10-09-2002 02:45 PM

democrat

KSigkid 10-09-2002 11:43 PM

Registered Democrat....but leaning more to the right lately, might change my affiliation to Republican soon.

Raised in a staunch Democrat household, so I'm still weighing my feelings on everything.

the Libs are pretty much centre

The BQ are just a little to the left and the NDP are a further on the left)

When comparing Canadian and US political parties are RW parties still tend to be more left than US LW parties.

I'm a Progressive Conservative with Monarchist leanings ;)

Cluey 10-16-2002 06:44 PM

Republican.

I love the entire Bush family - Dubya, Jeb, but most of all George Prescott Bush :)

LXAAlum 10-16-2002 11:57 PM

I am what is known as a
Broken Glass Republican (see Peggy Noonan to figure it out).

DRau 10-17-2002 12:07 AM

Very Green.... See my location for explaination ;)

Hootie 10-17-2002 12:14 AM

Republican and darn proud!:D

Betarulz! 10-17-2002 01:33 AM

I'm a super Liberal, who hasn't done enough homework to decide whether I should be Green or not -- so I'll go with Democrat for now. However, growing up (and registered to vote) in Kansas, I am changing my registration to Republican just so that in the next primary in two years I'll be able to make a bigger impact on the political process (so I can keep them damn right wingers out).

When I go back to SA in June, I'd like to join. :) I'd never heard of it. At St. Mary's, there is a club called Student Deomcrats, or something similar, but there is no formal Republican group on campus.

For our Canadian brothers and sisters, I know you obviously have different political parties than Americans do but please post anyway :)

Ok, one of your Canadian sisters will chime in here.
I think if I had the privilege of voting in the US election, I think I would probably be more Democrat.

I am socially Democrat and fiscally Republican.
You guys (i.e. Americans) need something that falls right in the middle of those parties.

Georgie only ascended the throne of presidency in January 2001.

Republican all the way!

SilverTurtle 10-19-2002 12:50 PM

I'm registered as Democrat so I can vote in the primaries (and I'm more of a democrat than republican), although I'm really independent; no party really appeals to me.

Interesting side note: when I was growing up, my parents each registered one as a Democrat & the other as a Republican. Then they could have a voice in both primaries. Interesting idea. They, too, are opposed to our stupid 2-party system. :p

Munchkin03 10-19-2002 01:07 PM

The two party system is a joke...it's more like one big party with conservative and "progressive" arms. If they weren't threatened by the power of a third party, why would they ban third-party candidates from debating?

That said, I'm pretty darned Green, although I am becoming slightly Red.

I've noticed that the majority of people here are either conservative Democrats or Republicans. Does that reflect a general conservatism on the part of Greeks, like I've always suspected?

tcsparky 10-19-2002 09:22 PM

Republican here.

archangel12 10-20-2002 01:41 AM

I am a die hard republican. I was at the national convention in 2000. Plus I served as a state college republican officers.

Amen, about the third party part, we definately a rise of one (and not the green one). Think both parties are f**ked up.

How can you be a conservative democrat?
