I know that this is old, but I had to chime in now that I can...
Why is it that I can't believe that I can finally speak the word "soror"? Why is it that my green Maxima looks so cute with my new license plate holder? Why is it that sorors from different states that I never even met sent me emails of congratulations? Why is it that every time I think on what has finally happened I tear up? Why is it that when I heard that "Miss Congeniality" the movie will be on all this weekend I couldn't help but smile? Why is it that I am proud to tell the world "I GOT MY PEARLS"?!?!?! |
Why is it that I love going home and looking at my Afgan(hanging on my wall), paddle, and figurines?
Why is it that I sometimes cannot believe that I am finally a soror? Why is it that my sorors are pretty, siddity, and oh so intelligent? Why is it that I will be attending my first Fashionetta as a soror tomorrow night? Why is it that I am on a count down to regionals? (4-24/4-27 Louisvelle Ky) I really cannot wait! Why is it that I wear pink at least 3 times a week? Why is it that I love my AKA! I love my Sorors! 1908 was a great year! :D :) |

Why can I spot a soror across the room or a mile away?
Why do we hold our head so high? Why am I so excited about my first regional conference? Why will Miami be painted pink and green, April 10-13th? Why can I not believe that I am a member of this beautiful sisterhood? Why when "other" people find out I am an AKA, they look, :rolleyes: , as to say, "Lord, there is another one?" Why is it that on my daughter's 1st day of Kindergarten several years ago, she colored an apple pink and the leaf was green ? Our sisterhood is a bond that follows me wherever I go. No matter where I am how far from home, our sisterhood is with me. People can't understand, and you know what.... they shouldn't. I love my A-K-A!

1. I love AKA a little more every time I see a cluster of green ivy in the midst of a dreary winter? 2. I can reminisce with my sands and laugh until my sides ache? 3. We have 2 articles. HC my niece is pictured in our Cotillion Photo. She served as a princess. She is the first princess (from left to right) on the left side of the queen. (If you can understand that). Re: #4-Is it a scrapbook for Regional Conference? If so...MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU! :D ETA: I don't know my left from my right. :o She (my niece) is the first princess on the left side closest to the queen. |

HC.... I was in Electronics Express Sunday and one of the sales clerks came over to me and said, "Hey how are you? That is a nice swater you have on, I love the colors where did you find it?
HC.... I asked are you serious? HC.. he was and asked where he could find one??!! HC.. I told him, "First of All this is a Sorority, pronounced Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, INC. ....................(more ..... for another 3 minutes...) then he finally understood. :rolleyes: HC .... he told me he was asking because he has a friend at Fisk and she wanted to be with "Those Colors" (Pink and Green) :eek: HC... I told him NNNEEEVVVEERRR Ever ever ever, approach anybody like that again and tell his "friend" that too! and it sounds like they both have a lot of research to do and a lot to think about. HC at our High School football game Friday night one of our cheerleaders approached me? HC she said that she was going to be an AKA like me? :o :eek: HC GTFOOH? HC you know I had to regulate/educate/indoctrinate/etc etc? HC at first she didn't understand what I was saying? HC after about 5 minutes, she understood? HC in the same conversation, she told me her cousin was 'online' at such a such university? :eek: HC I gave her a message to give to her cousin? HC I told her to make SURE she told her cousin that MS. 2D @ such a such high school said such a such? HC I repeated it for emphasis? HC how are you gonna tell me what you are going to become? HC in the end, she thanked me and began eating 'humble pie'? |

HC I LOOOVE I mean LOOOOVE my AKA! HC I went to my very first AKA probate as an AKA yesterday. HC I felt so cool dudes. HC it felt great to be able to Skee-Wee when the illustrious ladies of Alllllpha Kappa Alllllpha Sorority Innnnncorporated were greeted! HC I finally have a line jacket! HC it looks oh so PRITTY! HC my sister who is a Delta was sweatin my jacket.
