Isn't that kind of crazy? Why? The rationale is...?

Disney Channel has a similar rule. Their rule is after 65 episodes, the show is a wrap. It sucks too because I miss Even Stevens.

Would that happen with The Proud Family too? I love that show - although it's an animated series. :(

Yup yup. . . so any show that is created on Disney as a new series only gets 65 eps. That is why no more new Lizzies. I am not sure how many eps of the Proud Family have been made. I believe they have at least 40 eps under their belt.

Their rationale is that the show's quality won't go downhill. It leaves people wanting more of the same.

Especially on Disney where the kids grow up. A 16 year old Raven or Lizzie living at home it cuter than a 23 year old Raven or Lizzie living at home.

Also as the audience for the show matures they lose interest. well this applies to Disney moreso. Characters should evolve and change just like kids do in real life.

With UPN I think that they just don't wanna pay actors big money. So you lock em in for Five years contigent upon ratings and what could a person do? Can't wrangle and hold out for a million per episode like they did on Friends.

Do you think that UPN would even have the cash flow like NBC to pay the big bucks? I heard a report not too long ago, and it seems that even the WB is making more money than UPN.

As for the last show, I don't want Nikki to marry the professor. I mean damn you been chasing this man for 5 years, you found someone that wants to be with you, and is in love with you. Let the professor be by his stank self at that new college where he got a job.

I hope she marries Johnny too, I'm going to be mad if she doesn't. How are you going to still want a man that has told you umpteen million times he doesn't want your behind

another thought: why did it take kim/nikki/stevie & t 5 yrs to graduate community college? Is it that hard ? Am I missing something?

She will. That is the whole premise of the show.

I believe the animated series have another rationale. its usually after they do a movie they are cancelled. Look at Doug, etc.

With Lizzie they wanted to renew her for another 65 eps on ABC Saturday Morning. But they didn't want to give the cash. someone her age like Frddie Muniz could make a killing. A child actor who signs with Disney is only allowed to make a certain amount on any other project including those that aren't Disney related.

RedefinedDiva 05-10-2004 09:23 PM

Typical ending. Saying that I am disappointed would be an understatement....

CrimsonTide4 05-10-2004 09:25 PM

I would have told the Professor to KMA!!

reddawn18 05-10-2004 09:43 PM

Just like I knew it would end. That guy Johnny I am gonna call the closer. He closer both Living Single and the Parkers.

Same here. . .although somehow I knew it was gonna happen, and silly me had to watch to make sure that it happened.

ImaDiamond 05-10-2004 10:37 PM

I'm upset....

I missed the finale of The Parkers. Does anybody know if they re-run the same episode on a different day? Just from the previews, though, I can tell that Nikki thinks twice about marrying Johnny. OOOOOHHHH!!! She bet' not!!

I missed it too, but I'm pretty sure that Nikki married the professor. I'm with CT4, I woulda told him to kiss my behind too!!

ykimber 05-10-2004 10:52 PM

Now see I was going to watch the show but I knew it was going to be predictable. So I watched the Swan!

Exactly.

I THOUGHT their sorority sister was going to be preggers for Johnny. THAT would have been a pleasant twist to what we had predicted.

BOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Kim sang my wedding song though (at the end)! :D

kiml122 05-11-2004 08:10 AM

From the moment that the Professor was talking to himself in the mirror, I was going boo hiss, because even though I knew they were going to marry Stanley and Nikki off, I still didn't want it to happen.........so again BOO.....HISSSSSSSS

FeeFee 05-11-2004 09:03 AM

The ending was very predictable and therefore disappointing. I knew that Nikki was gonna go through the wedding in the attempts to rid herself of Professor.

CrimsonTide4 05-11-2004 09:49 AM

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

1. SHAQUAN
2. Pregnant siddity sorority sister
3. The Professor
4. Kim's dress
5. Nikki marrying that pound puppy looking so and so.

You didn't miss a thing. They were setting it up the entire eppy that she was going to marry the professor. BOOOOOO!!! HISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

taylaur_2000 05-11-2004 12:37 PM

I skipped a pedicure to watch a most disappointing series finale.

mccoyred 05-11-2004 04:07 PM

Me,too! She was a big old FOOL after he gave her his behind to kiss so many times. Heck, he was even still calling her MS. Parker. I guess desperation can make us sistas do crazy things....Good thing the show has gone off the air because I couldn't have stood watching them married after all the crap he put her through.

Yeah I might have had to really boycott it if there was a honeymoon ep and life with the Ogilvies. . .the way he kissed her just did not speak of passion at all.

All this time I've been trying to figure out what he reminds me of!! Pound Puppies! LOL. He looks EXACTLY like a Pound Puppy!

I thought this episode was so predictable.

And, How can Kim run her own business when she doesn't have common sense?

all i can say is too predictable

delph998 05-12-2004 10:25 AM

All I can Say is...

W-A-C-K!

what a terrible series finale. really, it was wiggidy wack!

Krisco 05-12-2004 11:28 AM

ITA, WACK is the WORD?!!!

That messy episode is gonna have 'some' women thinking "after I stalk, stalk, and stalk a man he might just fall in love with me after all!"

What has happened to some good courting, when the MAN shows interest and tries to woo the WOMAN??????

Guess I'm just a little ole fashioned, and nothings wrong with letting a man know your interested(I've done it), but dizam!

LOL @ the pound puppy remark.
