This is a cool question. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Hmmm, I can't decide. Based on my experiences before, as well as DURING, college, I'd have to say Sigma Chi and Kappa Alpha Psi. I've got mad respect for Sigs from HS and college, and KAPsi is from Indiana, and my cuz is one. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

tickledpink 03-18-2001 04:31 AM

Ok, going off of first impressions, I would have to say, Kappa Alpha Psi. As a freshman, there was a strong Kappa influence on our yard, hence the Kappa Diamond thing.

Sammie17,

Your welcome. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Well, we never had Theta on my campus but I'm basing my opinion on girls I've met outside of school. I used to work with a Virginia Tech Theta at Bennigans near our school and she was awesome. We used to exchange stories and she told once how the Thetas would serenade the Betas there. She was very cool. I had another friend that was a Theta too that I used to email and shes very cool too. I'd have to agree with Josho's opinion of Thetas. They definitely strike me as the kind of girl you could take home to meet the parents. Very sweet and they have lots of class.

I changed my mind about Tri Delt

What are the qualities? We all do community service, so that is not a factor to me, so I would have to choose a sorority that mirrors what I feel makes my Frat unique. I admire all of the NPHC sororities, but Delta Sigma Theta seems to most complement what I see in Omega. Its not quantifiable, has nothing to do with community service, numbers, stepping, or other surface qualities, just pure essence and aura, something in the marrow, just like da Bruhs.

I would definitely have to choose Sigma Chi is i was a male. they were the most supportive of my chapters recolonization this past fall. all of the guys i've met from my school and one's i've visited have been sweet guys always willing to help a girl out (esp. when you get a flat tire on your way home from u of illinois) theyre awesome guys!

adpigirl 03-18-2001 09:29 PM

I would be a Sigma Nu or a Lambda Chi. They are the nicest guys here at my school.

pirate00 03-19-2001 05:46 PM

If I were female, I would be a Kappa Delta. On the ECU campus, these ladies are intelligent, sophisticated, lovely, and most important, DOWN TO EARTH!!! If I were a female, I would be honored to get a bid from them.

Rain Man 03-20-2001 01:02 AM

Well, that would be a tough one. I would have to say Alpha Kappa Alpha, the major reason being that I heard of them first, way back in middle school, when for two years in a row, I was an AKA scholar, and I actively saw that they reached out to their community. I also have some distant cousins and aunts that are AKAs.

Neato topic!
There are only four fraternities here and since my father and his brother were both Sigma Phi Epsilons...more than likely I'd be one too....if I were a guy!

DoggyStyle, I feel you on the Coleman Love vibe http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif ! I definitely say that if I were a male, I would want to become a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. The brothas keep it real!

Ok, I can't honestly say for sure because I'm not a guy and I haven't checked out the fraternities and what they stand for, BUT based soley on what I know about each chapter (which of course can only be based on the parties, greek activities, and such) I would have gone TKE. I loved those guys in college!

mumbles026 03-20-2001 09:45 PM

I love ZBT's they are all hot! But i wouldn't want to be one since i think they are all fine. But i'd have to say i'd want to be a KA since they are all sooo nice.

If I was a guy it would be between the brothers of Phi Beta Sigma or Alpha Phi Alpha..........

shadokat 03-21-2001 11:12 AM

Wow, a member of a fraternity? Well, I'd have to be a TKE, because when I was a freshman, we had the best time at their house, and so many friends there http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

SoTrue1920 03-21-2001 02:39 PM

I'll probably lose the respect of my sorors by saying this, but if I were a man, I probably would have pursued membership in Alpha Phi Alpha. I love my Sigma brothers, I respect my Sigma brothers, and I'll defend my Sigma brothers until the day I die, but in terms of the men I know *personally* and *professionally*, the ones I most admire seem to be Alphas. I'm not really sure why this is. Even though my first interactions with fraternity members happened with NIC fraternities, if my experiences with NPC rush were any indication, if I were a man I probably wouldn't have sought membership with a non-NPHC fraternity.

I would want to be a Beta Theta Pi. They were my favorites overall in university. Good guys...the types that you could bring home "to meet Mom".

Gina_lynn 03-21-2001 04:01 PM

It may have come to blows in my house (my daddy is a Kappa) but there is no doubt that I would have sought membership with Alpha Phi Alpha. I guess I'll just have to settle for making my son a legacy http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

finest_alum 03-21-2001 04:37 PM

It'd be a toss up between Sigma Chi and Lambda Chi... both houses were well respected at my college, and definitely knew how to have a good time http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

AOX81 03-21-2001 05:06 PM

If I were a guy I would probably seek membership into Lambda Chi Alpha or Delta Tau Delta. They seem to be the guys that have the most fun and have the strongest brotherhood.

Have a nice day http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

pikeks109 03-21-2001 05:55 PM

A very good queston. If I was a girl I would probally join Alpha Omniron Pi. These girls are so sweet and will help you any way they can. They have a real strong sisterhood and are real tight with one another. Everyone on campus likes them so I would pick them.

suntzu1963 03-21-2001 06:10 PM

A Sigma Gamma Rho. I have a lot of respect for their founding philososphies, their motto, and their members. They have always been really nice to me and reached out to greet me when I am on someone else's yard. I have a LOT of respect and love for you ladies so if you read this and you know anything about me, you know how I feel about you all.

GOD bless you all (SGRhos) and ALL GLO's (especially my fellow NPHC orgs. and their members). And a loud and rapacious OWWWWWW! OWWWWW! to my frat!

If I were back at my college, I would join KA. The history and heritage of the org is appealing, the traditional events are great, and the men on my campus were gentlemen.

Nationally, I think I would prefer Delta Phi. Their history is very inteeresting to read.

bigBERG 03-26-2001 05:25 PM

I must say that if I were a woman I would definitely seek membership in Delta Sigma Theta. The Deltas I know are about business(community service, quality programs, education) first, social life second. Two things that are near and dear to my heart.

On this campus, probably an alpha phi or an alpha delta pi...on other campuses, it could be different.

Lots-a-Heart 03-27-2001 11:03 AM

If I were a guy...I believe that I would want to be a Sigma Chi. I was at their ball on the weekend and they are a tight group that respects each other, other greeks and most importantly their history. Maybe I find these qualities enticing because I am in a local sorority, but I think it is because Sigma Chi (or at least the Gamma Rho Chapter) demands all these things from their members and the brothers give it!!

If I were to pick a fraternity to join, it would be Lambda Chi Alpha. I love those guys!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif Loved them so much that I introduced my real brother to them and he just got initiated this past Friday!! Overall, they're down to earth and know how to have a good time! They're lots of fun on date functions too! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

if i were a guy, i would be a TKE! i'm a little sis, so of course i already have great loyalty to them! if not tke, i would be a KA, i love the old south tradition, and i'm a southern girl at heart!

SHSUChiO 03-28-2001 01:49 AM

If I were a guy here at Sam, my choices would be:

1. Sigma Tau Gamma (I love those guys!)

or, tied for 2nd...

2. Sigma Phi Epsilon/Delta Tau Delta

DBPM04 03-28-2001 05:24 AM

This post was kinda funny becuase it was a question everyone in my house responded to and was put in our minutes. I have to say I would be a TKE. I love those boys!

Katey Alpha Gam 03-29-2001 03:31 AM

If I were a guy I would pick Phi Sigma Kappa. These guys are so sweet and so down to earth, but they also know how to have fun. The perfect balance of a real gentleman and a fun loving college guy. They also seem to be a lot like AGD. Phi Sigma Kappa is GREAT!! :-D

Without a doubt in my mind, I would have been an ice cold brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif (Skee-phi)

SimonaStar 03-29-2001 02:03 PM

I love that question!
I have to agree with Siobhan and all the other girls ... if i were a guy would have to say Sigma Chi, all the way. they are really cool at my school and I just have some special memories with them.
Fiji would also be cool too.... cloaked in mystery, those boys.
And Kappa Sig's are pretty nice guys on my campus, also.
I am so undecisive! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

This is a good question. If I were a man, though it is very hard to imagine me as a man, http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I would definitely aspire to wear the black and old gold of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

misssgrho 04-01-2001 01:15 PM

If I were a guy I would be an Alpha (Alpha Phi Alpha) or a Kappa (Kappa Alpha Psi).

Billy Optimist 04-01-2001 02:03 PM

can a non-greek post here? If i was a girl it would be either ASA or Tri-Sig at my campous (Radford, University) or nationaly speaking Chi Omega.

TechADPI 04-15-2001 01:48 PM

If I were a guy, I would definately want to be in Farmhouse!! The ones I have met are the sweetest guys, and they would do anything to help you out. But a close second would have to be Beta. They are true gentlemen.
