Okkkkk...so it looks like loads of people are interested in Gamma Chi. Several people have been asking "what now?"

If everyone's serious, may I respectfully suggest that we start organising the efforts? Here is my humble suggestion for a committee "sign-up" list of sorts. Place your name under the item you wish to help out with:

Constitution and Bylaws - Yes, Virginia, we need bylaws. :)

Officers - how do we select (see Constitution committee), positions available. I suggest having at least one representative from every area (NPC, NPHC, IFC, local, MCG, GDI etc...)

Membership - who is a member, how do we get members, designing a membership application...etc.

Ritual/Initiation - creating one!

Website - design and hosting

Outreach - creating a proposal for the suggested greek life presentations.

Philanthropy - to coordinate reports on Gamma Chi members' philanthopy efforts. Works with outreach.

Paraphanalia - Suggests manufacturers of letters, letters, shirts, etc. Perhaps the badge too?

Chapter Operations - loads of subcategories here. ktsnake...you wanna investigate dues? :)


Ok...I think I'll stop here. Feel free to add or adjust categories - my list was just meant to help some solid ideas to start flowing. :)

Good for you Navane!! I've been out of town for the past several days, and it's real nice to see that someone was able to step in and get started on the organizing. I believe AGDAlum was volunteered by Carnation to write the ritual. And I was contacted by someone yesterday from the board who is interested in crest design and paraphernalia. So ......................who else is in?

Oh, I almost forgot, the badge. I know a vendor from whom we can tons of the gold starfish, but they are not on the blue enamel background. I will contact that vendor and see what can be done about getting the badge designed. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions beyond the description I posted, please IM me and let me know. For instance, if that seems to plain, or not special enough, whatever. Please give me your suggestions. And if anyone can tell me how to post a picture on this board, I can put up a picture of the proposed badge for viewing and discussion. A picture of the starfish is at . Just clock on products, then choose lapel pins. For those of you who have been looking for jewelry for your org, they have kites, sailboats, sunfloers, turtles, etc...tons of different kinds.

I would love to hold a position of some sort!!! This is SO exciting!!!!!!!! I would like to do one of the followibng if possible:


Officers (An officer for local), Membership or Chapter Operations position would be ideal. Again, please let me know how I can help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I am currently an alum advisor for recruitment for my national sorority at Towson University, I would love to be involved in this aspect.

I have held many positions in my own sorority. Some of these include public relations, panhellenic delegate for 2 terms, assistant member of large, division conference, greek week, community service chair for panhellenic, recruitment counselor for panhellenic for 2 years. So there is my background and I would be happy to help with whatever we need.

I would be interested in helping with recruitment or anything with the Panhellenic area of stregthening our group community would be of interest to me.

What a wonderful idea! It's so great to see so many people coming together to support it! Count me in! I'd love to help with PR as I will be getting my degree in a few weeks in arts management and marketing is my minor. I plan on going into public relations/publicity for non-profit agencies so I absolutely would love to help out with PR and of course anything else! Can we even have those lovely 2 hour long meetings!? j/k! ;)

Would love to help out with ritual... I was my chapter's ritualist for 3 semesters... I even have the odd distinction of having been the ritualist who didn't know the ritual :)

(Back when we were a colony, we founders hadn't been initiated yet, but we still held rush to get up to "chapter size", and of course we had to ribbon and pin anyone we rushed in - so my job was to plan those ceremonies, and I was given what I needed for that - but of course, nothing pertaining to initiation.)
