I've got a sitcker that spells out 'Sigma Kappa', but it doesn't really show up well because of my window tinting :p My dad would kill me if I put a bumper sticker on the back of my car, so he's going to put the license plate holder on for me next weekend!:D :D I'm so excited!

chopper816 02-02-2002 04:41 PM

All I have is a licence plate holder. my window tinting is too dark to see a window decal.

Tom Earp 02-02-2002 05:17 PM

NO stikers, just personell tag on front and rear of car, LXA 1 with Fraternity tag holder on both!

Three of us so far # 61, and # 327. Would love to start a trend for the Chapter!!!!:)

AGDLynn 02-02-2002 06:47 PM

Just before I left the house to go meet Carnation and DZRose, I put the AGD crest and Greek letters on my new car.'s back window

I have an Alpha Gamma Delta license plate that I bought a few years ago when I bought the Stratus new, but couldn't fix it on the front. Haven't looked closely enough at the new car to see if I can put it on the front.

For those of you who look at the AGD site, you'll know that when I apply for my new tag, it's gonna be AGD related..think squirrels, lol! We got the dealer's paperwork today so I just have to take it down to the courthouse with my 6 choices.

The title is in hubby's name, but it's still my car, lol.

;)

ADPiSweety 02-02-2002 07:03 PM

On the back of my Jeep Cherokee I have a really cute UNLV sticker that goes on the top of my window and then underneath it I have a Blue and white see through decal with Alpha Delta Pi. Also my license plate frame is ADPi.

equeen 02-02-2002 10:07 PM

Vanity Plate!

It's really cute - royal blue with silver lettering, with the greek letters and "Women in Technical Studies" underneath. It's on the front of my car. Custom made too, from a little kiosk at the mall. :D

(So if anyone sees a gold car with an Alpha Sigma Kappa plate burnin' rubber along I-80 in Jersey, you can bet it's me. ) :)

ROWDYsister 05-18-2002 06:52 PM

Tons of people at UF have their letters on their cars, in one way or another. I have the license plate holder with the letters, the words, and the symbols, and a UF sticker on the back window and a gator head on the plate itself. I was thinking about getting those mirrorred plates with my letters for the front of the car but decided against it b/c I'm a really bad driver and I don't want people to be cursing out "Those damn Pi Phis!" :D

Mystic Cat32 05-18-2002 08:04 PM

On my car I have the license plate frames on both ends of the car with the letters Phi Mu Alpha on bottom and the Greek Letters on top. Black and Gold Phi Mu Alpha Letters on the rear windshield just above the University window sticker. On my Ninja I have the crest on both sides of the gas tank next to the Kawasaki letters.

TriSigmaTX 05-18-2002 08:46 PM

Aphotoguy and I have a TKE plate on the back and a Tri Sigma plate on the front of our car. We also on the back window have one of each little decals.

SATX*APhi 05-18-2002 08:49 PM

I have an A-Phi letter sticker, with the letters being 2 inches tall and white.

I also have an Alpha Phi license plate cover.

josh8o 05-18-2002 10:10 PM

i have a decal of just the letters (phi kappa psi) in white, then underneath i have a san diego state university sticker.

theta sig agd 05-18-2002 11:00 PM

My Jetta has a circle decal on the back window with the letters . It looks like one of those European country ID stickers.:D

AGDLynn 05-18-2002 11:30 PM

I just wanted to update..along with the AGD crest on the back window, my license plate is:

AGDSQL

Boy, I wanted that R!!

Car Decals

I have my letters in Greek, about 1 inch high in gold edged in dark blue, on the lower right front of my windscreen. My Dad has his in the lower left of his rear windscreen. My Granddad has his same as my dad. My Grandmother tells me that my Great Grandmother lived long enough to trade in two cars after Great Granddad died (at 78) and she insisted on having his letters next to hers (Pi Phi) in the lower middle of the rear windscreen. I have an old photo of them standing behind what I think is a 1926 Packard and you can just about make out the letters. Dad tells me that it was fairly unusual to show letters on cars back then and it really started in the late 40's or early 50's. He thinks the letters were there for a special occasion like a homecoming game or Alumni function. Anyway, I think its kind of cool to have had four generations of cars showing the same letters.

TrojanGirl 05-19-2002 12:49 AM

I have the license plate frame and a red oval sticker with my letters on my back windshield. When I get my new car I am gonna get "Pi Beta Phi" in white block letters on the top of the front windshield.

Front silver with black lettering Sigma Nu license plate.
The rear license plate holder has the letters and the name spelled out on it.

Tom Earp 05-19-2002 04:57 PM

A Repeat, LXA 1 Kansas Tag on Front and Back, one of 3 Brothers that have State tags, # 61 and # 327.

In Kansas, they have to be on front and back!

AOX81 05-20-2002 09:29 AM

I have one decal with just the letters and then I have one decals with the name of my sorority spelled out and the school underneath it.

Glitter650 05-20-2002 03:04 PM

At the moment I just have a license plate frame .. but I have stickers I want to put on.. just deciding which ones to put on.. :D

RubberSoul 05-20-2002 03:18 PM

When I was in school I drove this little red Celica.....I had the license plate covers, the stickers.....I had a big CHI OMEGA in red and white in the back window, plus my boyfriend's letters underneath it, I had little XO letters in the side windows, and a little XO on the front window in front of my mirror. Yeah, it was the XO mobile. Now I have a university alum sticker in the back and above it my XO Alumna sticker.

phisig4eva 05-20-2002 03:38 PM

uh, question: i have seen a VERY FEW people with just the greek letters on their windows, and i REALLY want to know where they got a decal of JUST THE LETTERS (i have one that says phi sigma sigma but i feel like just a small sticker with just the letters is so CLASSY!) if anyone knows where to obtain such a decal, i would be much obliged (i feel like i've been looking forever! this post must be fate)

thanks!

ps (hey dekeguy this could apply to you specifically) - but others PLEASE add your two cents

AGDLynn 05-20-2002 07:21 PM

If you're around Atlanta, they have them at University Spirit on North Druid Hills Road off of I-85.

SapphireSphinx9 05-21-2002 01:53 AM

Oh gotta love the decals!

At my chapter, we all pretty much have the same car decorations. I have the license plate frame, and I have a PHI SIGMA SIGMA decal on my back window. It's yellow writing with blue outline. Then right below it is my California State University Dominguez Hills sticker. Our president from last year bought all of E-Board the crest decal, so once I get my car washed, I'm going to put it on my lil side window. Oh, and even though this isn't on the outside, I have my baby paddle hanging from my rear view mirror. If I could, I'd seriously have car seats with Phi Sig all over them! No one knows of where I can find any, do ya??? :D

PhiSig4eva~You can get the Phi Sig letters from Greek 101. Here's the site you wanna check out: http://www.greek101.com/new/shop/par...kers_greek.stm

KappaTarzan 05-21-2002 02:29 AM

my car decal is my sorority crest, but the crest itself has our letters in it very conspicously. right above it have my big UMASS sticker :) i'm hopign to get a license plate cover soon

TriDeltaGal 05-21-2002 02:42 AM

I have Delta Delta Delta spelled out on a clear sticker in my back window and my university license plate holder.
A really cute thing the Alpha Phis did here was they had license plate holders made that said UCLA on top and Alpha Phi on the bottom in silver and wine colors. They gave me to their new members on Bid Day this year.

thetakates 05-21-2002 07:45 PM

Yeah! This is a fun one! On my little Neon I have Kappa Alpha Theta spelled out above my Ball State Sticker.....And next to that sticker is my Dave Matthews Band one. I guess they are the three things that are the most distinct to me. Also on my liscence plate cover I have the Kappa Alpha Theta one with the kites and KAO at the bottom. It is my Theta-mobile! :D

dekeguy 05-23-2002 04:57 PM

car decal letters

phisig4eva,
I have seen plain greek letters at lots of full service book stores and at stationery and office supply stores. Also, several campus book stores I have visited had them in stock, but you had to ask for them. Good luck on finding some. I agree, I think the plain letters look best without all of the other stuff that distracts you from the intended message.

anniesigkap 05-23-2002 09:08 PM

At my school everyone has the same decal pretty much. We have Sigma Kappa spelled in block letters in white with a maroon border centered on the bottom of the back window.

Quick question: Is it really popular for alumns to still have their letters on their cars after they graduate?

In San Francisco, rarely do I ever see letters. So when I do, I remember them!

I have seen a couple of APhi and ADPi decals, as well as one KD and Tridelt decal.

aggieAXO 05-24-2002 01:44 AM

I am an alum and do not have letters on my car just a license plate holder. I was given an "Alpha Chi Omega Alumna" sticker a few weeks ago at the senior party for UT and will probably put this on my car also.

Sometimes I wonder if other drivers ever see my Sorority Affiliation and think bad of me and my sorority when I do something wrong while driving, like going to fast or slow, or switching lanes without signaling. I'd probably get mad if they cut me off and they were greek but then I would forgive them because I'm greek too :p

ROWDYsister 05-25-2002 12:14 AM

Ditto!

LOL. That's what I think about everytime I'm behind the wheel. In comparison to everyone else when I'm in Gainesville, I'm an aggressive driver, but in Miami I have to resist the urge to flick off all these horrible people on the road (they do it first!) All I can think of is, "Any minute, they're gonna see my plate holder and lump all Greeks together as jerky, bad drivers..."

imadeltaz 05-25-2002 04:15 PM

I rarely see DZ stickers on cars in the DC area, so when I do, it's usually someone I know. There are LOTS of AKA stickers on cars around here..those are the ones I usually notice because we share the same colors.

Anyhoo, I have a "euro" type sticker with the greek letters DZ on the back of my honda passport. I haven't seen a cool alumna sticker in a while, otherwise I would have one of those.

ChiOChic 05-26-2002 02:07 AM

I think it's awesome that the BGLO's are soo proud of their letters. Especially their alums. I always see their decals wherever I go. Sometimes at alumni/chapter functions I check to see if Chi O Alums sport decals on their vehicles but most don't (probably bc their cars are so decked out!) ~ I will when I'm alum. :) Maybe it would help if there were sophisticated nice Alum Decals for Greeks, that'd be cool.

Silverblue 05-26-2002 06:51 PM

I'm with you, ChiOChic. I would love to find a license plate holder that says "Pi Beta Phi Alumna." Maybe somebody from a Greek merchandise company will read this thread. We can always hope!

Indianapolis

Okay, I just moved down to Indianapolis about a month ago (from Michigan) and I am still trying to figure out what the favorite means of showing greek affiliation! I know that there are LOTS of greeks down here because of all the headquarters in the area - but I have not seen many cars with anything on them with regards to orgs. I personally have the long spelled out window sticker - on top of the UWSP one and I need to get a smaller EMU Alum sticker as well when I go up to Ypsi on Thursday!

If anyone could clue me in on what it more popular in Indy that would be GREAT! (I didn't even see a lot of org stickers, plate brackets, etc when I drove along Founders' Road!)

HeavenslilAngel 05-27-2002 03:58 PM

I have Alpha Sigma Alpha spelled out on my back window then i have the greek letters ASA on the bottom left side of my windsheild and I have an Alpha Sigma Alpha license plate frame around my license plate I'm so proud to be an ASA. :D

thetakates 05-27-2002 04:05 PM

In response to the question about the car decals in Indy. I live there and I dont really notice a trend on them. I see the Europe style, the liscense plates covers, the names spelled out. All of them. I hope this answers your questions!
