Neither Shannon Elizabeth nor Courtney Cox Arquette are Alpha Gams. I did hear a rumor (which I don't know whether it's true or not) that Madonna pledged Alpha Gam but never initiated. Carly Simon, Raquel Welch, Amber from Survivor, and the lady that created Meals on Wheels are AGDs though.

The reason why I am asking is because she dropped out of the University of Hawaii at Manoa after her sophomore year. The first NPC group didn't come to UH until 1992. She then traveled to NYC to pursue her career. From what I remember she didn't attend college after UH. I checked the DPhiE website and she wasn't listed. ------------------ "I don't know the secret to success, but one sure way to failure is to try and please everyone."--Bill Cosby Visit Alpha Gamma Delta-Delta Sigma chapter and help some sisters out! |

Here's a poem I had to do for my brother participating in a Greek Week Skit, it has several facts about the fraternities and sororities that we have, and their members - it's not very good, so don't expect it to be, but it was fun for him to get up on stage and say - we used a Survivor Theme & sorry for the syncopation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~" Dear tribal council won't you please sit back, relax let me appease and explain to you why I just might Be the best for Greek God on this magical night For years ago Zeus spoke unto me and explained the benefits of a fraternity that the social aspects are no more than a bonus but it's actually a means to give young people a focus on common bonds concerning ideals and goals exchanging formalities that no other knows These are the ones Who make life a success And Greek Life is the brain Behind the process Just look at TKE They’ve got the king of Rock Yes Elvis was Greek Now who would have thought That he could be the brother Of Ronald Reagan Now that truly takes A diverse organization Every group is like that That’s not hardly all With guys like Mitch McConnell Representing Phi Tau Or Harry Truman Who’s a Lambda Chi Greeks tend to succeed Need we ask why With guys like Phil Jackson Or David Spade SAE should stand tall Their road to success Has been paved Though I’m no Dr. Seuss Or Robert Frost (Both Greeks) I hope that I’m getting My point across Let’s not limit ourselves To fraternities We are matched, if not bettered By the sororities Sigma Kappa sprout forth The most beautiful dove Cindy Crawford made men Worldwide fall in love And Georgia O.Keefe Is a famous KD The woman all actresses Aspire to be The list goes on and on I could list names all day Like Sela Ward, Bettie Crocker, and Faye Dunaway But my point is to show That Greek life ensues success Brad Pitt, the Sigma Chi, ‘s the best actor I must confess But with stats like all but 2 Presidents were Greek Since 1825 Shows the strength that we seek The leadership in the system Continues its course Such that Greeks in congress Still comprise ¾ And it’s not all ‘bout power Or leadership skills known of late Greeks above all others Have the highest graduation rate But even more than that It’s ‘bout friendships for life Brothers who are there for you In joy and through strife It’s surrounding yourself By the best people locally It’s associating with the people That you’d like to be It’s motivation to get up And to deal with the worldt’s about being at the gates of heaven, Smiling Saying that you gave it a good whirl “ |
He's not really "famous" really, but I just saw this in a copy of my school's alumni magazine. Brother Robert Wilkins, '86 (I think) was on CNN, talking with Greta Van Susteren, on her show. He's also been on CourTV, and a couple other shows. He's a lawyer in Washington DC, and specializes in racial profiling. I looked for the post on famous black people in NIC fraternities, and NPC sororities to post this there, but couldn't find it. Like I said, he's not real famous, but he's been on (inter)national TV several times, and he's a brother from my chapter, so i think it's pretty cool.
