I personally and really torn between D and E.
With more emphasis on D-leading to the decline of University help and Nationals being so liable-- just a few short years a specific greek was mudered on our campus at a fraternity party by non-greek students and the blame was put on the greeks and not students as a whole. As a punishment and an effort to "clean" up the greek system all of the fraternity houses are now completely dry and all GLOs were put on suspension. It was a truly tough time for greeks, losing one of our own and then being punished for someone else's crime. The death of the greek student then also enacted a Task Force for a 100 mile radius of campus to crack down on and I quote "greek mischief" commonly labeled for better governmental purposes as "the cut down on uder age drinking". As for E- I just believe that more brothers and sisters need to stand more true to their ideals (keeping true secrets, learning all they can about their GLO AND learning about the greek system as a whole) and it would bring the national greek life, not just the individual GLO life, back to the closeness it once had, making being greek a truly special thing seen not just in the members eyes but in the public as well. That's just my 2 cents for the day, sorry it was so long-- It happened to hit sore spot in me. |
