It was beautiful! All stone. People were insane with anger.

What's Garland Center?

ARKTTKA 06-29-2015 09:49 PM

It's a retail development anchored by a large UA Bookstore, several smaller stores, a Walmart on campus store and a large parking deck.

ARKTTKA 08-02-2015 10:51 AM

So proud of these young men. 2014 - 2015 brought a new house and now a Smythe Award.

I like the nod to Old Main with the tower in the back!

I can't wait to see the new Pi Phi house!

I read the bolded as "Old Man" and kept looking for him in the back by the tower. :o

I drove through campus one last time yesterday (moving away from NWA in 2 weeks). Recruitment starts today and I found it ironic that a sorority was hosting the first recruitment in our new fraternity house! Help we've been invaded by 400 Chi Omegas! ; )

With 2 chapters undergoing rebuilding efforts and 2 chapters still unhoused it only makes sense to open our doors to these wonderful women.

Chi Omega will be using the TTKA house for recruitment, Pi Phi is using the Alumni House, Phi Mu is using the Sigma Chi house and AXO is at Phi Delt.

Renovations are also under way at Lambda Chi. I can't wait to see all of these new houses on campus.

carnation 08-15-2015 08:18 AM

Are the Pi Phis living together in an apartment complex?

ARKTTKA 08-15-2015 08:45 AM

Yes, a friend who is an Ark Alpha alumnae told me they were ,but not at the complex that is across the street from the house on Maple.

ARKTTKA 08-15-2015 08:45 PM

Carnation, here's a link for you. Missing Pi Phi, KD and Phi Mu it appears.

Just saw a picture of the construction site sign for the Arkansas Phi Mu house on the chapter's Twitter. From the rendering of the front, it looks like the house will be grand and gorgeous! Arkansas has some lucky girls getting new/renovated houses.

Here is further information on the new KA house that will be here in the fall of 2016.

Cheerio 02-04-2016 03:54 PM

BUMPING for those interested, and for those who may provide further information as expansion progresses.

NoDak 02-04-2016 06:57 PM

Did a quick google search (all of 10 seconds) to find the exterior image of the upcoming Phi Mu house.

Hopefully someone more in the know will help supplement.

ARKTTKA 02-04-2016 07:26 PM

Not sure what is going on with the Phi Mu house since I no longer live in NWA ,but the new Pi Phi House is coming up quickly.

Wow is all I can say. Absolutely beautiful!

Griffins&Quills 02-04-2016 07:44 PM

Woaaaahhh, that is one hell of a house! Reminds me of some that I've seen at Bama, I think maybe ADPi? With the curving steps.

AnchorAlumna 02-04-2016 08:59 PM

OMG, that is just gorgeous! AND a cupola!
Is there a heating swimming pool out back? Bowling alley in the basement? A massage room? I kid, I kid.
It really is fabulous. Lucky Phi Mu gals!

Happy Alum 02-11-2016 10:50 AM

Summer 2017 is the date I've seen for the Phi Mu house. I am happy for all of the Panhellenic groups.

ARKTTKA 05-23-2016 04:15 PM

Lots of Greek construction at Arkansas!

Curious why they don't mention Pi Phi house? Their FB says they are moving in August 5.

FSUZeta 05-23-2016 06:06 PM

I op ZTA saves their front door crown shaped hardware. Love it!

ARKTTKA 01-03-2017 09:19 PM

According to the Anchora - Delta Gamma's new house will be located at 625 W Maple (Between Sigma Chi and AOPi - if I remember correctly). Construction is to begin this Spring and completed Winter 2018 with occupancy in Fall 2019.

ARKTTKA 02-18-2017 03:59 PM

Delta Gamma's Alpha Omega Chapter was reinstalled today at the University of Arkansas.

IFC boasts the largest Spring recruitment ever at the U of A, there are now over 7,000 Greeks on campus.

sissyintexas 03-27-2017 12:50 AM

Delta Gamma has an anchor "placeholder" on the property now. Sure hope it works out. My daughter is a member of another group there, but hoping for the best for my Delta Gamma sisters!

sissyintexas 03-27-2017 12:50 AM

And, yes, it is across the street from Sigma Chi.

sissyintexas 04-03-2017 12:08 AM

Alpha Chi Omega just announced that they are building a house, have acquired land and have plans drawn. It will be on Maple Street by AOPI.

sissyintexas 04-03-2017 12:13 AM

Don't know how to edit, so here is more info. It will be located at 722 W Maple - between AOPI's house and Phi Mu's lot. So happy for these girls.

UA Board of Trustees looks to add new sorority chapters. I am assuming AGD is still colonizing in 2018? I also came across this on the Greek Life website

Sissy, correct me if I am wrong 1) Phi Mu 2) Alpha Chi 3) Delta Gamma

ARKTTKA 04-19-2017 08:20 AM

Both Chi Omega and Pi Phi's renovations were completed in 2016.

Tri-Delta is currently under renovation and will be completed next summer in time for 2018 rush.

FSUZeta 06-19-2017 07:04 AM

Sissy, is Tri Delta able to live in and to rush in their house this year?

ARKTTKA 06-19-2017 10:40 AM

I believe Zeta was remodeling as well.

FSUZeta 06-19-2017 12:39 PM

Yes.

No, they are keeping the facade of the house, but the house itself was torn down after school in May. They will be ready for 2018 rush. They have taken over an apartment complex off campus for the 2017-18 year. I believe they are using the Pike house for rush.

ARKTTKA 06-20-2017 06:51 AM

Chi Omega also used our house for rush while their house was being remodeled.

I have never been inside the Pike house, but when we were touring the campus before my daughter decided to attend, I told her it was my favorite frat house. I love the modern look - it really stands out with all the traditional Southern-looking frat houses.
